The Ming Restaurant reviews
50Excellent cuisine. Pity not possible to split the bill at the cash register (no reason given).
Went to The Ming for a friends 50th birthday who booked the entire place. The service and atmosphere was top notch and the food was delicious. It was a huge banquet. We had a great night at The Ming. I'd definitely go again.
Don’t order off the exotic menu food still comes out with a pulse. Saw a dog once haven’t seen it since must of cooked it.
Prawn Dumplings are super yummy.
Very yummy, but their Ming Fried rice wasn't as tasty as I thought it would be and what I've tasted else where. Price is higher on the dish I got chicken and prawn in layers but very nice. Worth going. I'll return to taste other dishes you have on offer. Then make another review.
Food was delicious.
Service unfortunately lacking. Spent good money and had to ask for basics like water etc.
Food is delicious. Would come again
Beautiful atmosphere. Great service. Delightful food. Thank you for a great experience in the hills.
If I could give this restaurant half a star I would but since one star is the lowest it would have to do.
Where to begin… there are a lot of things wrong with the restaurant and the way it’s run. I don’t care if the owner sees this I have to stay true to myself and expose them after all I’ve been through. Yes I used to work here.
For starters I’m going to begin with the beloved food. I’m not going to lie sometimes it can taste good, the conditions in which it’s kept and cooked is absolutely appalling. Not to mention the amount of times where the kitchen was infested with bugs and smaller animals and rodents. I can guarantee if you all saw what I’ve seen you wouldn’t touch the food with a barge pole.
As if that isn’t enough the treatment within the walls with the staff is inhumane. I don’t even think it’s legal the way the owner has treated most of her staff. From bribing some to stay by increasing their pay by x4, to fully alienating the abilities and work of others. The owner has made it abundantly clear that she has favourites and she couldn’t care less about the others. In terms of lodging complaints against coworkers she wouldn’t take us seriously until her favourite got involved. What some off us did was never good enough for her and understand it’s her business but even doing everything right by the letter she would still find a way to devalue and dismiss the hard work done. Now I haven’t mentioned the fact that she only hired females before but I suppose she must have been desperate after firing all but one of her employees because yes there now is boys working. However I can guarantee all staff either go home depressed or dread going into their next shift. Sometimes you would just walk through the door and she would already be yelling at you. I hope this is seen and action gets taken either way I’m not necessarily hoping for the business to get shot down but for the love of god, to the owner STOP being a money hoarding cheapskate and at least take care of the health and safety situation that is evident to anyone who would walk through those kitchen doors
Most of the poor reviews seem to be about the poor service so we expected to wait for our meal. The restaurant was only about a quarter full on a Saturday night but the takeaway was busy and there was a long delay in getting our food.
However, the food was disappointing. We had our 7 year old with us so we chose honey chicken which was OK. Kway Teow.average, mixed vegetables.ok and Szechuan beef which I hoped would be more interesting and spicy. The beef turned out to be very sweet (plum sauce) and boring.
We checked their website before booking and their menu showed very reasonable prices at about $20 per dish. It must be an old menu as the actual prices were about $30 per dish. This is inexcusable and in effect is false advertising. Great food would have made up for it but unfortunately this was not to be.
The spring rolls are to die for, I cannot get enough of them
If you like a bit of spice the hot Szechuan beef packs a lovely punch and I highly recommend it. The Ming have some outstanding dishes and are definitely worth a try if you are in Mundaring
We've been going to Ming regularly for over ten years now and have never been disappointed. The food is simply delicious and always fresh and appealing. Very friendly service too. Unbeatable value for money.
Definitely not the best Honey Prawns. More like honey batter with a tiny prawn inside. Very expensive & disappointing!
We went for Mother’s Day dinner and the place was heaving. People waiting outside for takeaway and pretty much every table full. It took a very long time to get our dinner but we knew that could be the case and the poor staff were run off their feet. It shows the popularity of this place as the food is always first class. Fresh, delicious meals every time.
I hope not too many people post negative things about the wait. With Covid, lack of staff is a problem for most hospitality places. Either way, we will be back.
Great food. Just add 10 minutes to the pickup time if ordering take out to avoid having to wait too long.
Absolutely terrible service for Mother's Day, placed a 3 dish order at 6.30pm told 50 minutes to pick up and my poor husband is still not home with the food. 8.40pm
Really simple & fresh food made with love and care. Couldn't ask for anything more from a restaurant
We go here regularly for family events and it is always enjoyable. The dishes are large and always tasty. Good range of drinks. The space is nice to sit in.
Apparently 40minutes mean 2.5hours. Disgusting service and was complete the owners and managers fault
Great freshly cooked variety of wholesome Cantonese Chines food, served by help full waiters in a friendly and well appointed resturant only 15 minutes from home, it must be GOOD FOOD as the take-away que was up to 20 peoplle on our arrival.
Fabulous location impressive set up for families but oh! The service is shocking takes ages to get food on the table priority in wrong place takeaway food going out very slowly people not happy table service very amateurish not a good look needs more staff but fabulous food
Absolutely amazing! Could not fault this restaurant at all. Perfect service. I can't eat gluten and they made everything we ate, gluten free. So accommodating. Fast and delicious. Would 100% recommend!
