The Como Hotel reviews
80Unfortunately we went for a bite to eat, but weren't told there would be a 45 minute wait for 2 entrees. After 1 hour, we couldn't wait any more. Credit to them for giving my wife a free drink, and our money back on the meals we didn't get, however it was really the food we were looking forward to.
Como hotel isn't a place I'll go back to. A group of us had booked a table. We ordered our meals and 1 1/2 hours later we were still waiting for our meal. They were more worried about their bristo meals than any other. When we finally got our meals one of the meals was steak the steak was all grisly and not cooked to how it was asked to be cooked. So no we will not be going there again.
Place looks great being revamped, food is fantastic.value for money & the Eagle Bay Pale Ale is amazing.
Enjoyed a meal there tonight. They were very busy! We proceeded to order our drinks and our meals. There was a bit of a wait, we didn't complain but the manager came up to us and said our entrees and first drinks, would be on the house (around $50 worth)!
The food was great and will be back. This wasn't our first time here, and it won't be our last time, either!
Lovely place to spend some time with family/friends. The staff are lovely and had a beautiful pizza, we were in the outside area with lots of cover and we could order from the table. Good parking and all in all a nice place to visit.
Lovely lunchtime service. We had a very generous serving of satay sticks with a Thai style salad which I found great value for money!
The Como Hotel has had a facelift since I last visited and I enjoyed my lunch experience with its friendly team and cool ambience.
Great food etc, the best thing was it was table service food and drinks. I have notice that a lot of establishments of late are sit down decide what to eat, go to till order and pay, then have to go to the bar get drinks, then back to the table. Not here, makes for a more relaxing experience.
Basic pub menu - decent prices.
Stuffed up the wine order but was a busy night.
Could not make a dirty martini - can only make cocktails on menu!
Cheeseburger spring tolls were AMAZING and what gave them a 3 star.
Went for a Pint at lunch time today and was astounded that a Pint of Biggie Juice was $13.40. When did it become ok to charge that much for a Pint of beer? I understand it is craft beer but it is also a "Core range" beer. To charge that much for a pint of "Standard Craft beer" is ridiculous. I won't be back while these prices are around and I hope other people see this review and vote with their feet. No matter what spin Management want to put on defending this astronomical price - I won't buy it.
Besides that - it's a nice place and the service was good. Didn't eat there (Couldn't afford to if they're charging that much for beer).
The como is a nice pub, friendly staff and plenty of tables indoor and outdoor to enjoy a drink, watch the footy, or play pool.
Had a great lunch here with a group of work colleagues.
All the meals were lovely and the new decor is great, a very enjoyable afternoon.
I went into the Como Hotel recently with friends. I was served by a gentleman behind the bar called Fraser. Top bloke! Incredibly knowledgeable about beers, served me with a beaming smile and recommended a delicious feed! Will be returning, hopefully soon.
Tried it for a second time after a disappointing experience just after the Como reopened. Very ordinary basic food and experience. Won’t be back.
Good day yesterday with old mates, food was great and the staff were excellent accommodating us. Nice fresh look at the old joint, thanks.
The outside area has plenty of heaters, awesome chicken satay sticks (awesome value) plenty of parking
Drove past for year's
So popped in for a pint.
Big. Clean. Bright with friendly staff.
Meal was good also.
Very bad experience. We ordered vegan burger because we liked the plant based beef patty last time we ordered but this time we didn’t know that they changed it to vegetable patty which was awful. Tasted like crumbled potato inside the bun served with potato chips! The bun was so loose that everything exploded with the first bite and converted burger to some sort of salad. It was also very overpriced for what it was. Also ordered Charred Chicken which was tasteless too. Very disappointed and will never come back.
Well one thing tells you when you enter a bar if its busy it must be good, didnt have to wait long to be served plenty off room, friendly staff, food looked great, all they tables were reserved so reckon its good.
Not long home from the Como Hotel, Como, where near enough to 50 people came to wish my mother happy 100th birthday. The food was fantastic, not one word heard by me to the contrary. Service was number one. Helped me to organise 100th birthday balloons, cakes. Only one minor complaint - soft furnishings on windows and table cloths on tables to aid in absorbing noise would be good. Otherwise, 95 out of 100. Wouls certainly consider going again.
Fantastic service, atmosphere and food. Bec was our waitress and was very knowledgeable and an absolute delight. Well done Bec!
