The Breakwater reviews
69Fun place but can get quiet busy. I think the place offer too much sitting area that make the whole restaurant seems very pack and small. The food was OK though. I would visit again for the convinience of where I am living.
Ishka at the Breakwater is more than your usual pub fare. Not pretentious and great service. Great for a post swim feed or a special occasion
Fabulous place to eat and watch the world go by sipping a cold beer. Staff seemed friendly and genuine and the setting in the Marina makes for a great place to hang out.
Kitchen was supposed to be open for meals until 10pm. We arrived late at 9pm & all we could get were pizzas or chips.
Like the better pricing since change over, and service has been excellent on my visits. Like the happy hour food and drink offers.
The Staff were attentive the food was superior. I could not fault it anyway. Most enjoyable evening.
Very cosy and comfortable atmosphere. However, the music being played travelled throughout the whole facility and became rather annoying after a while. Aside from that, brilliant.
Amazing food upstairs at Ishka. The service was flawless and as you would expect on par with fine dining. The views are beautiful and the food was world class. 10/10
I've been there a few times now and the food there is amazing. I recomend going there on wednesday and getting the chicken parma as it is cheap but very good.
Food was ordinary.waited over an hour for our mains & the staff need to be educated about their menu
Great location for a reaxing glass of wine. Mid-week meal specials at $10 look amazing. Will have to pay another visit.
I have been here twice and the food has been disappointing. The vegetarian options are mediocre and some friends who have tried the non-veg options have told me theirs was average at best. Considering the price, we expect better food.
I am unable to comment on the alcohol as I haven't tried any.
The service has been really good since the new owners took over, but on this occasion when we arrived the Bar was busy, but Connor the manager walked past us 3 times without offering to serve.
Actually looked down when walking behind the bar.
Service needs to be improved when the bar person who is more interested in checking how they look and actively walking past waiting customers and they have to be told by another member of bar staff to help out standards
Had my daughters 21 birthday on 5 April in the Akoya room. Staff very professional and helpful
great food and setting had 100 guests, Full marks to TImi Szeaczkw and Tazmyn Saunders.great service and planning to make this such a fantastic birthday
Recommend this venue
Great venue. Drinks go down well. Food is good. However the bouncers should be potentially prescribed a brain transplant. Had a few run-ins with them at an event. Ran out as I had to go pick up a friends ID from home, walked out the door and went to walk back in and was stopped by the bouncer. I showed him my ID again as I was walking back in and he pulled me out by my shirt. I'd say he might of been having a power-trip or maybe he was just a neanderthal. But yeah that didn't go down well. Basically just told him to pull the pineapple out of his a** and relax. Got back in eventually and all sorted. Venue is 5/5, bouncers are flogs/5.
The new management has made it affordable to go and have a drink and a meal in a fantastic location. I always walked past it because it was expensive now i go out of my way to go there.
I was saddened to hear just today that a friend had her request denied regarding catering allowances for someone with a serious allergy. This is not cool at all for any venue that is meant to cater for all customers. I'd be keen to know if it was one ignorant staff member or a larger problem, either way this is terrible. I won't be going there any time soon. One of my kids has a mild intolerance, but this friend has a child with a very serious allergy. This venue needs to review their policy regarding this and educate their staff on the consequences of their actions.and inaction. Poor form.
Tuesday was Angus burger night. Very tasty served with chips for $10. Good crowd and plenty of people out and about.
We went for dinner on Tuesday night downstairs at the breakwater, $10 burgers and a happy hour between 5 and 6, the burgers came with chips and were pretty great, wash it down with a $6 pint (happy hour price) and it's a great cheap night with some great scenery.
Love your work Breakwater
