Smiths Beach Resort reviews
68Smiths beach resort was a nice relaxing stay with modern clean facilities. The food at Lamont restaurant is highly recommended it definitely was worth dining in. The only down sides to the resort is that the pool is not heated which seems bit odd when down south is always much cooler than Perth. Not many guests used the pool then which seems like a waste. Also would be better if they had proper block out blinds in their bedrooms (some people might not mind waking up to natural light at 5am but with a toddler it did affect her sleep and then ours) but as we only stayed 2 nights it wasn’t a big issue. Would definitely come back if they ever install heating in their pool.
Stayed in the 2 bedroom beach shack during September 2020 school holidays post Covid and still in a WA statewide border lockdown. The price was $700 a night. The beach shack was like a caravan park cottage except its fixtures and fittings were somewhat higher quality and the place had better beds and linen plus 3 air con units. The air con units smelt mouldy when turned on and need cleaning. The shack also had a strange smell that we put down to the vinyl floorboards that are off-gassing. Our clothes smelt of that smell after we unpacked them at home. Personally the shack is worth $350 -$400 a night max considering its too cold to use the pool facilities and there is no daily housekeeping. Only once every week if you stay that long however we got a surprise housekeeping service the day before we left. They were meant to have milk in the fridge when we arrived, there wasn't, so I had to get up the next morning, shower and drive to Yallingup General Store to buy some as restaurant doesnt open until 7am. Reception doesn't open until 9am and shuts at 5pm. The free wifi didnt work for the 5 night stay even though we reported it. Our keycard to the shack locked us out after we arrived back from dinner so we had to phone the after hours phone and wait for them to arrive outside our room to unlock the door then fix the keycards. Reception service is friendly. The separate Lamonts restaurant has quality food mostly, although service staff are inconsistent in friendliness and training. A few were excellent however. The location of the resort right on the beach is excellent and you can walk to Canal Rocks. I don't think we'd stay there again though. We'd get a 2 bedroom villa at The Pullman at Bunker Bay instead. They are a much higher standard in design and a similar price plus they have 24 hour reception, daily housekeeping, room service and a spa on site. They have a pastry chef that worked at a Michelin star restaurant in France there too.
Peaceful, relaxing, comfortable, friendly and professional are the words that jump to mind. We had 2 night s staying here and absolutely loved it, I did not know what to expect as it was a surprise and what a surprise it was. Staff at check-in and the restaurant are very friendly and helpful. Such a beautiful location to enjoy, one night we had a BBQ with local venison and lots of chardonnays. If you want a relaxing time in absolute comfort this is the place, needless to say I cannot wait to return.
A+ for location but the chalet was a bit of a let down as far as quality, finishes and the bed itself.
Wonderful staff. Great communication and such a fantastic location. Rooms are clean and modern and the coffee and tea in the room perfect thank you so much for having us
A stunning location, beautifully appointed and designed apartments and an excellent bar and cafe on site. There's nowhere better for the money.
Very pretty, clean and well kept. The staff are friendly here. We had a comfortable and relaxing stay
Very friendly people and the restaurant food was great and beach walking destent recommend this place!
The beach 2 and 3 bedrooms have wonderful views. The staff are all very nice and accommodating. This place feels like home!
A very good resort for a short stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the food, while expensive, was great. We had free breakfast daily as part of a long weekend package which was a nice addition. The rooms felt luxurious and the free, high quality beauty products, such as the skin lotion, were very thoughtful. As well as all this, the views were just spectacular and the facilities, such as the infinity swimming pool were very good. Overall, a great resort that feels luxurious with friendly and caring staff.
Great breakfasts. Great beach. Great nearby winery/restaurants. Some real surprises on the the Cape to Cape walk. Units have steep stairs. Not for the infirm.
Nice place to stay, friendly staff. Nice restaurant with great food & wine. Go for a quiet walk along the beach or a drive around the area.
Our 4 bedroom house was very nice, great location, great getaway, for 8 people the BBQ and fry pans could have been bigger, sound system is aged, overall can recommend this resort
Our favourite 5 star resort Down south. We took the 3 bedroom beach house. Also had dinner at the famous Lamont's restaurant at the resort.
The cabin was great. It had everything you need. The only two complaints I would have is that the microwave is at toddler level, and there are steps up to the pool. If you are trying to take a bag a toddler and a pram it would be easier with a ramp.
Also there is no parks near by so some sort of play ground would be great.
We enjoyed our stay at Smiths. We stayed in a beach shack. It was well equipped. Only no view whatsoever. The swimming pool looked great. The beach was beautiful. The Margaret River area is amazing with so many good restaurants and wineries. Smith’s offered yoga, unfortunately I didn’t had $20 cash.
I really enjoyed staying here. The beach shack was fully self contained with a private parking bay and private back porch with a bbq. The beach shack I stayed in can fit 6 people.
In the middle of the Bush next to the beach, need transport to get anywhere as it is a 15 to 20 minute drive to the supermarket. Lovely pool area and an all day restaurant. I would definatly stay there again although the housekeeping staff were not very friendly.
The picture says exactly how you will feel. A great big smile as you take in the awesomeness of Mother Country!
Take a moment to breathe and even if you're not a meditator or yoga fanatic, find a moment to find solace and make your heart smile before heading into or away from the shimmering deep aqua!
Awesome spot to catch surfers on day break!
Such a beautiful place with an amazing view. Stayed at the beach front and it was simply stunning!
Spacious, Bright and modern place. They have a nice kitchen, fireplace, good bedroom. Breakfast is healthy and tasty. We had a great time to enjoy nature and plenty of good wine within 30 to 50 mins driving distance.
