Slate Cafe reviews
82Fabulous cafe to take your dog! The pulled pork burgers were delicious. If we weren’t just travelling through; we’d be back for sure!
These guys are legit the best everytime they listen to my uber order for less noodles/extra sauce but when I've visited in person they've been amazing, the crew are just so friendly! They also do doggy days so I'm just in love with this place.
A great place to done with pet dogs with a great space for them to run. The kids playground is great and keeps the kids occupied. Food is excellent and Slate offers a great range to please everyone. One of our favourite places to go!
Such a wonderful experience at Slate cafe this morning. I took my partner and 10 month old for breakfast. Lots of seating available so we were able to find a spot straight away. I ordered the french toast & a cuppacino and my partner got the big breakfast & a Turkish delight mocha. The service was so fast, coffees out in 5 minutes (if you're a parent you know how important this is in the morning) and the food was out shortly after. The turkish delight mocha was mind blowing, definitely worth a try! I loved my french toast, first time I've not had to order extra syrup - there was such a generous amount as well as bacon and fruit. Amazing value! Partner also enjoyed his big brekkie, even if he did have to share half with our son
I was disappointed with the Vegan pho. Too much noodles, little soup n hardly any ingredients. Not what was promised on the menu. Staff took too long to give an extra helping of soup. I had to ask twice.
Disappointed with my experience at slate cafe. Was looking forward to coming here with my dog for a while. I didn’t realise there was a breed specific meet up and was told my dog couldn’t go in the play area by another owner. Kind of annoying as there wasn’t really an enclosed area otherwise for my dog to play in so he just sat with us the whole time. Breed specific meet ups are a good idea but for my dog not to be able to go in the play area during ur busiest hours was a bit of a let down. I could have just gone to my local cafe.
A nice cafe with space for children to play at, which is a big bonus! The cafe is dog friendly so beware if you have allergies etc.
The food is standard cafe food, with some Vietnamese fusion dishes.
Drinks are also standard, though I was not very keen on the turmeric latte.
The Slate Cafe was an excellent experience, the coffee was fantastic (the blend is called Excalibur) and the food was divine.
Very much recommended to go to for a weekend with your dog for a coffee and a bite.
My first time here as you could bring your DOG. My sons don't have any dogs NOW and were coming for brekky.it was awesome to see the various dogs here. Great for dogs to socialise, it was hilarious to see dogs trying to get in to Cafe to see their owners, then it was inconsiderate to see other pet owners allowing dogs to get in the gate especially knowing they shouldn't be allowed in. I think my sons missed their dogs why they come here and then they did say they love the breakfast here. Personally not my favourite place to have breakfast.
Plenty of seating, large covered deck area (dogs allowed), kids play area, fenced dog play area. Try the pulled pork burger.
We visited lunchtime today with my two kids.
I ordered French toast and fried chicken and chips.even busy time, I waited few minutes with perfect quality of food.ice coffee is also good.playground is really good for kids but need to fix some and change.but most of things are good and definitely will visit again. I love to find this place!
VERY UNSAFE. Our little dog was attacked by a very large dog which put it’s whole mouth over our dog’s snout, injuring him, as he squealed in pain and had tufts of fur coming off him. The owners of the large dog became aggressive and tried to blame our dog who had been doing nothing at all, and the wife picked up her glass and threatened to throw it at me! The staff saw the incident, stared but did absolutely nothing about it. All there was to drink water out of was dirty little child cups. My daughter ordered and paid for a Vegan burger and only after she had sat back down and was waiting for her meal did they mention that it had cheese powder in it.
For a so called “dog cafe” they didn’t even sell dog treats, Puppuccinos or anything for pets and the toilets were disgustingly dirty. NEVER AGAIN. This place should be shut down.
The pet friendly Slate Cafe is a regular for me and my wife, even though we don’t have a dog anymore we still come here for the 10 out of 10 coffee! I order my crispy bacon and eggs and there’s a generous serve with perfection every time. The staff know how to function in all aspects and tables always kept clean considering there always busy. Just go and try there coffee
This cafe was so rude. Owner rude. Talked over me while we were ordering. Gave another customer service while we were ordering. Muffin old and dry. No apologies, owner shood me away, never removed is sunglasses while I spoke and laughed in my face. Disgraceful.
Awesome little brunch spot tucked away. Kid and dog friendly. Good service and good food for a reasonable price. Alcohol available too.
Was served a fried chicken burger that was raw on the inside, told waitress about the issue. No offer of a fresh meal or refund. A big "No" to this place
The vibe here is lovely and the cafe has a child friendly outdoor area which is awesome! Ordered the French toast, a banana milkshake and a fresh orange juice. The French toast was delicious, but for some reason did come with a random potato chip and had way to much syrup on it which made it way too sweet after a while. The orange juice was tasty and sweet. However, my banana milkshake came very watery and I was a little disappointed with the flavouring.
The staff here were very friendly and helpful, and contributed to the lovely atmosphere of this cafe! Would definitely recommend to come here for a nice brunch.
Went here for the first time and was very impressed. A wonderful place for individuals, families, dog owners alike. It has a great play area for kids and dogs and was lovely to see dogs on leashes happily sitting near their owners while dining in. Had a delicious almond chai latte. Would highly recommend and am going to visit again myself.
Nice food
Friendly staff
Well set out cafe
The mastiff in the caravan selling doggy treats made my day
Poor service and attitude. We called the place at 3PM and asked bout the cut-off time for food orders. The staff who'd answered the call said 3: 30PM.
We made our way here and reached by 3: 25PM. When we went up to the cashier to place our orders, cashier was ready to say "no" until she realized that it's not yet 3: 30PM. But when we were about to place our orders, she asked to hold on a second and turned to ask the chef.
That's when we were told that the kitchen had closed early and they can only do fried foods such as fries and nuggets. That was very disappointing to hear as we had called earlier before heading over.
Cashier then elaborated and said, "the establishment is privately owned so we're allowed to close the kitchen early if the owner allows it"—which all sounds like flimsy excuse for the lackluster service.
Honestly, we wouldn't have been as upset if they'd just given us an apology for closing their kitchen earlier than stated rather than the sorry excuse.
