Sandy Beach Reserve reviews
55Great spot to take the family, exercise or walk the hound (or feline if you are that way inclined).
Sandy Beach Playspace in Bassendean is an absolute gem for families! This place has it all - from picnicking spots to a dog-friendly atmosphere, clean restrooms, and an incredible playground that caters to kids of all ages.
We recently visited Sandy Beach Playspace and were blown away by the experience. The highlight is undoubtedly the playground, featuring a massive play structure with towers, bridges, and slides that both little adventurers and thrill-seekers will love. There are swings, climbing frames, a double flying fox, tunnels, water play, and sand play areas, making sure every child has a blast.
The best part? No trees were harmed during the creation of this playground, and the surrounding landscaping adds to its natural charm.
For those with younger tots, there are toddler-friendly slides and a range of balance activities. Plus, the pathway for riding or scooting is a hit with older kids.
Restroom facilities have been upgraded and are clean and well-equipped, with options for all visitors, including those with disabilities and families with babies.
Bring your furry friends along, as this park is dog-friendly. Dogs must be leashed, but there's ample space for them to stretch their legs in the reserve area.
As for picnicking, there are BBQs and picnic tables available, and you can also set up on the grassy areas. Parking is a breeze with ample spaces around the reserve.
We've never seen so many happy families in one place, and it's no wonder why. Sandy Beach Playspace truly has something for everyone. It's a perfect spot to spend quality family time, enjoy a picnic, and let the kids explore in a natural, safe environment. Highly recommended!
We can't wait to return for more outdoor adventures at Sandy Beach Playspace!
This place is heaven for children and family. Fantastic slide, jungle gym, hands on experience, bbq, sandpit, climbing, public toilets, and very close to the river.
Kids love this place, so much space and fun things to play on and close to the river to throw stones or have a swim
Quiet spot by the river, great for a picnic or just sitting in your car looking out over the water.
The weather wasnt the best but playground and shelters were perfect.will love to visit for a longer time when sun is shining
Wonderful spot for all the family. Excellent playground, BBQs and toilets available. Even caters to your dog/s as adjacent is Ashfield Flats, an offlead dog exercise area and scenic walk along the river.
Great park, which is likely why it gets so busy on weekends. Variety of playground equipment and the river providing something different to explore. Only one pair of barbecues, though was surprised how hot and even they run - be nice and clean afterwards fellow picnicers.
The playground is absolutely amazing if you are looking for somewhere to take the kids I highly recommend.
Possibly Perth's greatest playground. From a giant fort whose top tier provides entry to a giant green slide to water and damming features that intrigue and occupy kids for multiple minutes, to a long and satisfying flying fox, to Bio toilets, BBQ facilities, the adjacent Swan River, and a host of other stuff, this is a space you will want to bring your kids back to time and time again. Whoever commissioned this play space is an out and out goddammed genius!
It's now a great family orientated place for young people with younger an older children plus the grandparents and friends. I'd recommend it to anyone
This has to be the best park in Perth! Challenging frames for the children, plenty of variety and lots of seating and picnic areas for children. Clean toilet facilities.
A hidden gem of a place. Please note there is no shade over the play area so on a hot day it is very hot.
Loved this park. Surrounded by all the trees and near the river it was peaceful and fun at the sametime. Heaps of sensory play/water play great for all kids. There's areas for picnics and tables so plenty of places to sit and eat. Fantastic slides and a massive flying fox highly recommend this park.
What a relaxing area for single couples or large families. The play area is great plus it is right next to the river side, what a great photo opportunity.
Went for a 5th bday party, had a blast. The kids were very safe, so many things to climb and so much to do. Plenty of shade too.
Impressive playground with huge slide. Flying fox, swings, bbq's, clean toilets etc.
Well worth a visit.
Swan River open alongside playground (100mtrs away). Just be vigilant with toddlers and small kids don't wander down alone.
Beautiful park with a fantastic playground for the kids!
Perfect for birthday parties or just to spend a few hours with family and friends!
Stunning park that runs along the river. Not super busy and perfect for pets off leash.
Great for morning walks or picnics
Definitely recommend trying the SUPs on the weekends.
Great park to relax and watch the river or go for a walk along the foreshore trails. Toilets and barbeque facilities available which is handy, with decent parking. The new nature space playground is coming along nicely and will make a great addition to the area:)
Great place to take dogs for walk whilst enjoying the picturesque scenery! Dogs can have a swim also! Off lead area for dogs
