I used to be an apprentice here.

The foreman is a joke. His son did an apprenticeship as well.
I used to go home in tears with the disgusting way he treated me and management did nothing to stop it.

Not even head office did anything.

Worst service ever they dont know what they are doing
Misdiagnosed and repairs
Lies and more lies
Informed of noise from engine on breakdown to call centre only diagnostic of turbo failure. Informed service centre noise in engine before repairing
10 weeks to repair turbo with warranty and service centre
Engine needs to be replaced $19,000
Service centre employees lied when I reported on test drive
18 weeks without vehicles

Rip off warning! My Daughter had an issue with the idle being too high. They couldn’t work out what was wrong with it so got in a specialist which cost my daughter $150 then said it was the idle motor. Quoted my daughter a ridiculous price of $980 and told her it was a huge job and was forcing her on the spot to book it in. Lucky I knew a little to know this was an absolute rip off. The whole part took 10min to fix and costs only $200 from another mechanic. Called the manager to complain but he was rude and didn’t really care. She has been a member since driving but will never use RAC repairers ever again.

The customer service on weekends are the worst. They did not explain me anything and mentioned that it was according to my log book service (no harm to explain your customer).

While booking they did not mention that on Saturday, they will only do servicing nothing will be detected on weekends. They wants me to come back again on weekdays to detect the problem and service it again.

I am not recommending anyone.

Hopeless. I sat on hold waiting for someone to answer the phone for 30mins.
I was ringing to give them my business so not great for them.

Car was booked in for a regular service. Had a call during the service to notify that my brake pads and brake rotors required replacing. The car's 5 years old so brake pads didn't surprise me. However, I questioned the rotors. Informed them not too change them as I wanted to get an independent quote from a family member who's a mechanic. He couldn't service the vehicle at the time due to work commitments. He then checked both brake pads and rotors thoroughly and said "both are nowhere near replacement stage". I was going to be charged an additional $595 on top of my regular service to swap these items.

I don't want kind of system they're running, but I sure as hell won't be returning. Dishonest, untrustworthy, incentivised driven service.

Took my car for a log book service and got told my rear brakes and rotors need changing and they wanted to charge me $595. I got a second opinion from another mechanic to be told that nothing was wrong. Wont be going back or recommending

Dropped my car for logbook service.
Oil, oil filter and fuel filter was changed AND this was not Logbook schedule. Not happy as all of the above items were replaced at Isuzu 10,000 ago. Sadly RAC were unable to read and follow the logbook for Isuzu.

After many years of being a loyal customer, I'm sorry to say I won't recommend them to anyone. I had my car serviced a week ago and found the car hard to start, turns out it was a faulty part (generic not a genuine part) that had been installed. This is actually the third time this has happened so I'm sorry to say I won't go there anymore.

Absolute ripoff. Quoted $3750+ without even looking at the car. The car sat in the back of the workshop and wasnot repaired for another 2 weeks after that. When I asked for a detailed diagnosis they sent me a ridiculous amount of problems listed and mind you they hadn’t even looked at the car!
Requested to cancel the job and the guy got very RUDE about it!

Got the car towed to my regular mechanic, it was fixed the next day. It was a faulty thermostat and overflow bottle. Paid $478 vs $3750!

RAC wanted to replace the radiator, the air conditioner element and heater element and more things!

Use Advanced Auto Tune in Wangara, Wayne will look after you.

Booked in a 10,000km service at RAC Joondalup prior to a 4 week long trip up to the Kimberley's of Western Australia. One day into the trip, the radiator exploded damaging the fan as well in the process, requiring the car to be towed. Upon inspection, it was shown that clear cracks had been missed by the service team at RAC leading to the explosion. A new radiator and installation cost me $1400. On top of this, my broken handbrake was not fixed alongside my breaks which needed tightening, both very important safety features to have in good nick. Not taking my car back here again!

Absolutely disgusting! As an RAC member I called up for a quote for a standard log book service. I usually go to Galleria Toyota I'm Morley which costs me $249 but as I am so far pregnant I didn't want to travel that far. They quoted me (at first) $800+ dollars for my service. I used there website to get another quote because the admin I was talking to was so rude when I told her there must be a mistake. The online quote was $365 (approx) I still was confused as to the price so I did another online quote this time they quoted me just under $1100. I am absolutely appalled and disappointed by this it's a joke and how they get business is beyond me. Highly recommend looking elsewhere. Will definitely no be getting my insurance done here next year or anything for that matter.

RAC members, had a car problem, RAC refused the work, apparently too big a job for them to want to do. Told us to go elsewhere.

Really disappointed with the customer service from the manager. The guy is rude, arrogant and doesn't even make an effort to resolve a problem that they caused it. No need to make huge advertising campaign tell us that RAC gives back to the community, just use that money to give your your staff better training. Don't recommend RAC anymore to anyone.

Absolutely shocking service. The so called regional manager Steve should not be a manager, to say the least. Really disappointed with the quality of care RAC. Definitely not an insurer to use if you have a luxury car. Stay away from them.

Rang to book. Then got email with quote. But did not record my booking and had to rebook after quote.
Disappointed

Took my car for service and misdiagnosed a few things and also snapped engine cover clips. Not happy.

I'm a member of RAC so thought I'd try them as I had recently moved away from my old mechanic. While the overall logbook service was good and priced well, I got told my car needed a part worth $800 to be replaced! I decided to get a second opinion before spending that much money so went to two different mechanics for second opinions and they both said nothing was wrong with that specific part. Ended up going to another mechanic and fixing my car for $300. Highly suggest getting second opinions before saying yes to expensive part replacements.

At my first service, RAC did not reset the service indicator on my VW or stamp my logbook service. I had to return for this, spending a hour at RAC while they phoned around to find out how to reset the message on a VW. At the second logbook service, the car leaked oil from the sump onto my garage floor, ruining the concrete forever. Took the car back and they advised they never had a replacement sump plug which was the issue - a $4 item which I went and purchased from the VW dealers. On arrival for my 3rd logbook service at RAC Joondalup, they advised that my quote was incorrect. Despite me filling out all info correctly, they "missed that air filters had to be changed at the 135,000 service but had quoted me on a regular 15,000km service". This was advised on delivery of the car to them a week after the booking and was unacceptable to me. It appears as though they wait until you go to the effort of getting there and making all associated arrangements to then nail you with extras in the belief that you have no option but to accept. I did not - I walked out and will go elsewhere.

Regretfully purchased a van based upon a vehicle condition appraisal completed by this RAC, they failed to report that the clutch was badley damaged plus part of the gearbox, it cost me in excess of $1200 to have fixed. RAC refuse to accept that they are at fault.
