Point Walter Medical Centre reviews
38Amazing patient practice nurse Belinda and doctor Debbie McKay…always thorough, caring and go over and above to give good care
Dr Niall Barrett has been my GP for a decade now and he is the most proactive, professional and personable doctor I have ever experienced. He is hands down the best GP who has handled my complex medical condition perfectly hence the reason for the 5*.
Thank you Dr Barrett!
I have seen several doctors at this clinic over the past decade and all of them have been very helpful and professional. The reception team are incredibly helpful and kind as well and I would recommend using this clinic as we do for our family.
I've been to a lot of GPs in my time but holy hell, Dr Niamh Leonard and the team at Point Walter Medical Centre are second to none.
I’m the mother of a staff member who was recently verbally abused very badly. The care given to her by the rest of the admin staff and all of the medical professionals at the centre is more appreciated than I can convey. I cannot express the terror than runs through a mothers veins hearing news like this, so to know that my daughter was cared for so well by her colleagues, means more than I can say. It speaks volumes about the sort of people she works with and for. Thankyou so much for caring for her. You are all amazing.
I live in Carnarvon and my son, who is in boarding school, has been to see Dr Garrett Leonard quite a number of times this school term, by himself, and without me meeting him personally he has helped my son each time. I find the reception staff to be very efficient when I call to make the appointments and I would have no hesitation in recommending this clinic.
The best practice ever.friendly and helpful staff and great doctors
always willing to help
my wife and i would never change our doctor
This place must be fabulous so great that many of the doctors won't take on new patients.
You'll die of old age waiting for the receptionist to tell you if there's one that would.
Save yourself the hassle find somewhere else
Not a fan of the glass lift.
Very helpful staff, and great Doctors, the family and I have been going there for years.wait times can sometimes can run a bit late, but, if a Dr practice is busy then that's generally a good sign:)
Very happy with this Medical Center, I can highly recommend. Karen and Jodi at the reception are very friendly and helpful. Greta costumer service.
Dr Bradley is absolutely fabulous with my mother's care and has improved her quality of life dramatically over the last 5 or 6 years. Fantastic!
Some good and some really rubbish doctor's at the centre do your research online. I have found dr Adrian Zentner, he's a true professional knows his stuff and is a true champion.
Never had an issue with any of the GP's here, they've treated myself and my two young boys many times and always been very professional.
I have a great relationship with Dr Barrett. My son who is Autistic also has a great relationship with him. The practice works very hard to look after us whether thru the phone or the website. I cannot say enough how happy Iam with Dr Barrett and the staff.
I particularly recommend Dr Keaney and Dr Niamh Leonard. Although I have been to many of the other doctors and have always had positive interactions. Admin staff are pleasant and helpful
Dr Keaney is great! I have been seeing her for years! They sometimes run late, but I never feel like I'm being rushed out the door to make up time! I would rather attend a clinic that runs late, but cares than one where there is no rapport with patients!
I see Dr Zentner who is one of the few doctors who knows (and cares) anything about specifically male health issues. I would highly recommend him. I have never been kept waiting beyond my appointment time in numerous visits there over the past few years. Staff are generally quite helpful.
I can see this practice gets a few 1 star ratings for wait times.it is a busy clinic. Receptionists are relatively friendly and I haven't had issues with them, but not the greatest customer service (probably due to how busy they are normally). I see Dr. David Syed who is an INCREDIBLE doctor and is the reason I still go to this practice despite moving. I've seen two other doctors here and wasn't overly impressed as I was just rushed out the door with (what I felt) wasn't a proper check into my health and concerns. Dr. Syed is friendly, caring, charismatic doctor, who no matter how busy he is, will probably take care of you and look into your concerns. Downside is it is really hard sometimes to get an appointment with him, usually minimum 2 weeks away, but trust me it is worth it due to his professionalism and knowledge. I had a rash once that turned out to be a condition called "Pityriasis Lichenoides" that 3 other doctors had said were scabies, allergic reaction and scabies despite me saying it was not itchy and I did not feel ill. Dr. Syed was the one who took me seriously and got a skin sample, various blood tests and a urine sample, and figured out what was actually going on. I HIGHLY recommend seeing Dr. Syed if you can, he truly is great. My 5 stars are based purely on him.
Has been my medical center for over a decade (Mainly for GP, but they have a physio, dentist, pediatric/radiology room and even a pharmacy (Though I would caution you to go to a different pharmacy if pricing is an issue.) Though they have gone through quite a few of the desk-staff that you get to know, sadly many are getting degrees at the same time so at times you might not get that happy sensation of the staff remembering your name, details, etc. I highly recommend it** - the only other bad things I can see in other reviews is that they had to wait - Yes this is a reality in nearly all medical centers and they and more than happy for you to call up ahead of time to get a better estimate on timing; either way, it'll be worth the wait for the deep, knowledgeable care you get from them.
**This review is very subjective as I highly recommend Dr. Syed, he is the busiest doctor there for good reason! The review is based around my experience with him and the reception, I cannot vouch for any other doctors there and if I had to see a different doctor I would probably change clinic!
I made a booking to see a doctor, told to come 15 mins early to fill out the forms. When I arrived I was told that the booking wasn’t on record, only some notes. Receptionist was offhand and dismissive. I was offered a later booking which I declined. It was very annoying so I decided to seek an appointment with a more organised clinic. After reading the reviews I see that I was lucky not to have the appointment.
