The animal cages are covered in spider webs. The animal enclosures have essentially no greenery and not much water. The only enclosure that looked well cared for was the Guinea pigs. Toilets very clean.

What a great place. The staff were very friendly and just fantastic. Taking time out to show my son the Tarantulas as he couldn't see them. Did an up close and personal with the sugar gliders and never felt rushed by the staff in anyway. They let you really enjoy the experience. Will definitely go back even if it is a fair drive.

The place is a great outing for families to come to for enjoying a zoo aesthetic. The staff here are super friendly and the walk in zones are good for physicalinteraction. Be careful of the birds and goats though, they will bite you if you're not careful. Overall the whole experience was amazing.

Went for my daughter's bday and the keeper gave a speech on Tasmanian devils and we watched them get fed, you can pat the Kangas, the sheep goat deer and llama can be a but full on but every other experience was great, get hands-on with a snake and bobtail and red was very welcoming and friendly

Great place to bring young kids as the animals are very close and the animals you can feed are suprisingly gentle.

A wonderful place for people of all ages, such effort into every animal habitat has been made. Friendly owner and staff.

Disgusting! My child bitten by the camel no incident report or cares given. The smell was making us gag, toilets were full of water and stunk and not to forget no water for some animals and what water there was was green!

Visited the zoo yesterday with our 3 +5 year old grandsons and loved it. Welcomed at reception by a peacock which got the kids excited immediately. All the animals are so approachable and friendly. Feeding the camels was the kids highlight plus having a roster join us for lunch. Adults loved seeing a wombat for the 1st time, feeding the emus and seeing owls awake and so assessable. Thanks for a great day.

Our Grandies love this place, especially the walk through aviary and being able to feed the goats and sheep. I feel that it is a bit tatty, needs to be spruced up a bit.

Very disappointing. I hadn’t been in many years and thought it would be different with a new owner but sadly it’s not.
I get it would take a lot of money to run a zoo but just tidying the enclosures a bit more could make a huge difference.
Our experience today was ruined half way through as a crow flew over and dropped a piece of dead carcass from the Tasmanian Devil enclosure on my 9 and 2 year old. 2 of the keepers were standing a metre away feeding carrots to other animals, looked over and didn’t even see if everything was ok. My 9 year was quite upset and pointing at it on the ground. Still shocked they didn’t see it.
After cleaning them up there weren’t even bins anywhere close by. The hand sanitiser was empty near the walk in enclosures and this was only around 1.30pm. Some more steps to see the wombat would be nice too.
Not sure where or if the koala is there either.

Very depressing experience. The enclosures need some greenery in them. Bottle brush bushes or other species of greenery that is not toxic to birds or animals. Also some colorful paint around the place would also lift the spirit of the place. Not sure what is wrong with one of the Tasmanian Devils, but it seemed to be having trouble with its back legs.
The experience was very disappointing and nothing like what is shown on the website. I do realise that there would be a lot of expense involved in running a zoo, however I'm sure if the word was put out to the public for some specie of greenery or some tins of paint that there would be a large response. Even a quiz night to help with funds. I'm from Armadale, but would certainly try and help out in some way, even requests for donations.

Was amazing! I went with my 1.5yr old and he had a blast, feeding emus was definitely his favourite. Paths are very pram friendly and loads of seating and shade along the way. Will be definitely be returning!

Loved the Australian animals. Were allowed to hand feed some animals. Allowed to pat lizard and python. Icecream and soft drinks available.

We had a nice afternoon at Red's zoo, I am told the place is much cleaner and organised than it used to be. But, and yes there is a but, the cages are very close together ergo there is not much air circulation ergo it stinks! And we went in winter! The animals looked a little understimuated which would be sad for young children I believe. Very small enclosures does not help. Having said this the zoo has been improved a lot, we had a lot of fun (including my ASD son) and as we know those animals cannot go anywhere so maybe a healthy stream of visitors will help improve the place even more. The animals part of the petting areas (kangaroos, emus, llamas.) were very docile and chillax which was great for young children, we loved petting and feeding them. There is constant q and a with close up with an animal at the entrance to the zoo which means you won't miss an arranged time slot for a close and personal with some of them. Toilets were clean, supplied with soap and towels. No food on premises per say (ice cream and free coffee and tea with ticket purchase which you'll never find at Perth zoo).

Our family of 4 had a wonderful afternoon at this local zoo.

Great variety of Australian animals from Tasmanian Devils to colourful birds. Lots of hands on experiences.

The best part for us was the walk through bird aviary where the inhabitants were very friendly and chatty.

This would especially be a great place if you have visitors from overseas!

Absolutely a must see for all families. The aviary is sensational, birds come and sit on your shoulder and chat to you. Highly recommended.

Had a great visit with the kids here. Also enjoyable for adults. The kids loved feeding the animals and holding the snakes. A really well maintained property with lots to do and see
