Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary reviews
50Lovely hike. Well tended paths. Some steep portions so more strenuous than I expected. Quenda/ Possum are more natural. Don't forget your pass number to get out!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
A lot has been done to improve the walk paths underfoot, and many steps have been added. I do prefer the natural original bush trails for the unspoilt native bush experience. However, I appreciate the effort gone into the improvement.
Absolutely incredible hike, wild flowers were blooming rolling thunder in the back ground and views to die for. Not for the beginner, but there are smaller trails on site more suited for beginners. Cant wait to come back again 10 out of 10
Amazing spot, the trail maintenance is as good as you'll get anywhere; good signage, well placed rest points, every incline has steps, and amazing views! The wildflowers are spectacular.
Beautiful sanctuary. So well maintained and great tracks. Fantastic views. Benches and picnic tables at super spots.
Great scenery, water running still and great legsercise. Sore calves next day. Worth the trek for the views. Well maintained.
What a pleasant surprise! We never knew this amazing place even existed until a little while ago. Well marked and maintained paths, and the most amazing scenic views along the way. Wildflowers were a bonus. Highly recommend if you like bushwalking.
Lovely scenery, not many animals/birds to be seen.
Unfortunately way to many steps for us. Steps, steps, steps and steps. I'll guess about 70% of the walk, it also looks like they are going to install more, most of them are not even needed.
Someone is just obsessed with steps!
Same, Late winter / Early spring is ideal time to enjoy the hike, and scenic sites.
Large plains on the backyard of Perth - Brilliant. Has Hiking treks of different lengths and fitness requirements - but all nature walks are an absolute joy.
Paruna is an amazing day out, you can push yourself or take your time stopping at the many rest spots. The views are amazing and we even saw and echidna!
It took us 2.5 hours to complete the 6.5km Quenda Circut walking trial. The lookout points have amazing views and the walk is filled with beautiful wildflowers. Remember to make a payment/booking online - $10pp. Website says you need to make a booking 1 hour in advance but I got an email confirmation in 5 minutes. The email will include a 4 digit number. Use this number to enter and exit through the gate.
Gorgeous area to visit, the work that goes into maintaining this beautiful area is absolutely worth it! Wi definitely go again! Rain or shine!
Awesome place to go and clear your mind and enjoy some beautiful nature. Highly recommended and not to far away.
A place of Serenity?
The trails are marked out very well and maintained at a very high standard. The trails are good for entry level walkers/hikers right up to humans who want to run the trails.
Quenda Circuit is a 6.5km trail and along the way you come across 3 spectacular lookouts.breathtaking is one word to describe the view and you can't be anything except present in that moment
Numbat trail is a 12km trail with a much longer descent/elevation and it connects up to the Quenda Circuit where both of these trails start and end at the gate entrance.
Paruna Sanctuary is both child friendly and of course adult friendly. If you only feel like going for a 2.2km I believe it's this distance it may be 2.5km then take the possum run, great for the kids especially if you have really young ones
Once you finish off being immersed amongst nature, then gather around the picnic table just down a few steps on the right at the entrance and have a snack and drink that you bring along yourself while listening to the birds, the sunshine warming your back and the beautiful lake right next to you.
It is a place that is a Sanctuary?
Place was very clean, some beautiful scenery but at this time of the year it's quite dry and no water running.
Absolutely beautiful! Spring time is a great time to go with plenty of wild flowers out and I even saw kangaroos and a cute little echidna. Highly recommend
Absolutely LOVED the Numbat trail! Fantastic job AWC! Definitely the best hike around Perth. Can’t wait to do it again!
Underwhelming, the online payment system doesn't work, there is no gate at the front and anyone can just walk in.
There were around 50 cars in the Carpark too
Love the paruna sanctuary I hiked the numbat trail good to see doing some upgrades on the steps & other areas around the enclosed area keeping it all nice beautiful wildflowers, waterfalls seen 2 echidnas happy as
Superbly set up wildlife sanctuary with limited numbers aloud in a day. A walk of great variety walk, past pools, waterfalls, rock formations and through a lush landscape. Seating set out in the best spots along the trail.
I give it a hard level just for the ups and downs with steps
