I came here for earlobe piercings but I have a low pain threshold so I was really nervous about it. These guys are awesome, Joel and Bree did it and they are very fun and did a good job. I'm glad I came here to have it done!

Have had two piercings done here so far and both have been completely positive experiences. The staff are all really knowledgable and friendly, and I felt very safe throughout the piercing process. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing staff and service, super nice and super knowledgable, know exactly what they're doing, made me feel super comfortable about the piercing process.couldnt recommend them more, no bad words to say! You can tell they are truly in it for the customers satisfaction and ensuring a pleasant, safe and positive experience (rather than just doing it for the money like many other places are). Will definitely be going back

Had a great experience with my conch piercing at Opal Heart with Anisa! She took lots of care and explained what she was doing the whole time. So happy with it!

Had my Daith piercing with Jackson 3 days ago. Great experience, super friendly and professional.
There’s a reason why they are booked out weeks in advance and it’s worth the wait.
Jackson made me feel comfortable and welcome great explanations of the process and aftercare and the piercing was made painless as possible.
Highly recommend the guys and girls at Opal

Definitely my new go to place. The staff all seem lovely. Bree was my piercer and not only did she do the perfect placement for my snake bites, she also talked me through the whole process as she was doing it and was great at helping me relax. Super clean place with super cool decorations as well. Thank you!

Amazing place. It may be expensive but worth it. I have gotten piercings on my ears by almost all the staff. They are friendly, knowledgeable and amazing in every way. One girl said something to me that gives me courage everyday and I love by it. One guy pointed out where on my ears piercings would look amazing. And ALL OF THEM have given me exceptional service and remember me even though my piercings are years apart. Love the decoration of the place, love the vibes. Love your work!

And Yes I paid 200 dollars for a titanium earring and I wished it was maybe 50 dollars cheaper but it’s been two weeks and there’s no irritation, infection or pain. Thank you opal heart team. Keep on keeping on!

Jackson was an absolute delight and his dad jokes were first class. Everything was spotlessly clean and he talked me through the whole procedure very thoroughly. 10/10 would get pierced again.

BEST PIERCING STUDIO IN PERTH.
The team here are EXTREMELY professional, knowledgeable & educated. I felt welcomed from the moment I stepped into the studio. Everyone was super friendly and my piercers made me feel comfortable. Good tunes, great vibes & wicked atmosphere. Very clean, too!

Don’t go anywhere else for your piercings.
Worth the wait. And worth every dollar.

I'd give zero stars if I could.

I am a disabled double lung transplantee who has been a previous customer (post transplant and said so, bizarrely enough). I've never had an issue and I (used) to recommend opal heart to everyone and have told my disabled friends that they are disability and transplant friendly. I was incredibly disheartened to find that my fellow lung transplantee friend was refused service here for nothing other than being a person with a transplant. She is of good health, sound mind and is on a very standard immune suppression regime.

I'm going to use this review as a learning opportunity for Joeltron and his staff, so they don't display illegal, discriminatory behaviour again.

-Tattoos and piercings are safe for transplant patients who are one year post and are not going through an acute rejection episode.

-We heal the exact same way as non immunocompromised people do. We aren't aliens with a different healing mechanism. It's the same. It's just delayed slightly.

-The risk of infection if a tattoo or piercing is done in a clean, reputable shop on clean skin and the aftercare is followed, is next to none.

-It was asked that my friend be put on antibiotics. We don't use antibiotics prophylactically for potential skin infections. Not even for surgery. Doing so contributes to antibiotic resistance. If we do happen to get a skin infection and we need antibiotics, we respond to antibiotics well. We aren't that damn fragile.

-My friend was also asked to lower her immune suppression. We won't lower our immune suppression for anyone other than our doctors. You have no right to request that. Stay in your lane. Standard immune suppression is not your enemy anyway.

-We have a physical disability. We aren't intellectually disabled. We don't need our doctor overlords to be involved in our personal decisions and have silly letters written to vouch for us. WE vouch for US. Did Joeltron get permission from his GP when he got his eyeball tattooed? No? Why not? He vouched for himself and he made an informed decision? Well then, same for us.

-What makes you think our busy, public hospital consultants, who are stretched thin dealing with a covid patient in ICU, have time to write such petty permission letters? We don't mind having a laugh with them about this, but we all know they have better things to do.

-Fear of litigation does not excuse ignorance and discrimination. By your logic, would you refuse service of POC because some groups have poorer health outcomes? No? So why would you discriminate against the disabled? Fear of litigation is not a get out of jail free card. Fear of litigation means YOU need more education on the matter.

-All the needles we have to have in less sanitary environments and you are worried about a well done, well cared for piercing? Where is your concern over all of our blood draws, IV lines and injections by people who sometimes don't give a rats about infection control?

-The body mod world is not exclusively for the able bodied. We belong there too.

-If you are confused, why don't you seek out information directly from our doctors? We don't need to be educated, you do. That's on you. If we educated everyone around us, we'd be spending our entire lives doing that. We are tired of explaining. We are tired of fighting. We are tired of having to work 10x harder to have the same rights. We are tired of being treated like we are pretend humans.

The disabled are facing unprecedented amounts of ableism due to the current times we live in without having those that we thought considered us to be equal, treat us like second class citizens. It hurts to the f%#king core. Be a part of the solution, not the problem.

To other disabled people, unless Opal Heart start undertaking some education in disability rights, I don't recommend going here. The last thing we need is to be lectured to by people who don't know us, don't know our conditions and don't know how to listen. Call around, there are piercers out there who are disability friendly and you won't have to lie either.

Got my Tragus reopened after not having a piercing in it for over a year. All the staff were super friendly, the guy that did my piercing I forgot to get his name,
But he was lovely and informed me of the best options regarding size and made sure I was happy with what I picked by trying different options. Great place to go if you want a good quality piercing experience and the jewellery they have is beautiful will definetely go back

Very professional, wouldn't go anywhere else! I am quite fussy and very indecisive and the team worked with me so patiently to create a look I was super happy with. Cannot recommend them enough.

Jackson was so thorough and so kind to my ten year old when she came in to have her ears pierced today. He took so much time to make us feel comfortable and instilled great confidence- my daughter and I felt very safe with him and we’re thrilled with the result.
The other staff we met were so lovely and warm as well.
I’m glad we came to Opal Heart, our great experience was absolutely worth the six week wait!
