Oakover Grounds

Beutiful location with poor service. We were told that there was a 20 minute wait. 1hr late told 5mins away. Ha 20 minutes later food finally turns up.

Lunch was disappointing. Only two red wines available for tasting. $16 wine became $28 to have with lunch - 75% extra seems excessive. Burger was nice but S&P squid was powdery and without a salt and pepper taste. The surrounding area is lovely but there are much better places to eat in the Valley.

It has to be said that the customer service that Oakover Grounds provide is disgraceful
It was a beautiful day we booked the day before to ensure catching up with some family friends from the UK and my visiting parents from the eastern states went smoothly. Well from the very start we booked for 1: 30pm were not seated till 2pm then after an enormous wait in line we finally ordered and at 3pm some of the food arrived by 3: 30pm my parents food and the twins food still haven't showed mind you they close at 4pm. When we approached a staff member about the situation she replied (Do you know how busy we are) The food was overpriced overrated and my mates mums fish had returned as it was cold
Toilets were dirty and no toilet paper
I hope your happy you ruined our long overdue afternoon catch-up with family and friends
We will never return

Very nice place to eat and have brunch. Tasty food and delicious coffees. Not a large selection of food, small menu but quite pleasing. A large selection of wines and a big shop inside the restaurant. Friendly staff and overall a pleasant experience.

You can't go past Oakover Grounds for a family friendly Swan Valley winery experience. Beautiful relaxed and fun atmosphere with lots of grassed area and shade, free pedal boats, playground and garden games. Drop in for a coffee and cake (daily) or a full breakfast (weekends) or lunch (Wed - Sun).

We went for lunch yesturday (sunday) beauriful day lots of people. We had booked for 1.30 had to line up at the door didnt get in til 1.55 shown our seats then had to line up for order our lunch waited another 10 mins to order. While sitting in the main restuarant area, we would have loved a seat outside but no worries we will make the best of it. We started to look around, the place could do with a good clean. Windows dirty, spider webs and spiders in the window corners and dust every where.
Well 40 mins later we finally got our lunch by this time its nearly 3. Three of our table order burgers how can you go wrong. They were so over cooked the outside of the burger was nearly black and the inside was so dry. The chips werent much better. The other ordered the green bean salad.please! Steamed beans with a couple of slices of halumi ontop. Did we eat it yes why because we had waited soooo long and we were hungry. We did mention it to the waitress who came to take our plates. Not sure if she did forward our complaint.
The toilets could do with a good clean as well.
I cant complain about the staff they all looked exhausted and did the best they could.
I realise that a few of the staff were off sick and the ones that were there were run off their feet. So maybe dont take any more bookings and walkins. I fully understand that hospitality has taken a big hit but bad food and the long waits are definatly not going to help. And tourists haven't even started coming in big numbers yet.

Went for lunch and a drink on a Friday. Firstly the grounds are beautiful, nice grass area, playground and the water with the bikes.
However sadly that's where it ended for us.
We ordered Barramundi, Pork Belly, Prawns & Octopus with a side of chips.
Barramundi was nice, small portion.
Pork Belly was 80% in edible, it was tough and dry, very very disappointed and was not close to being finished.
Prawns & Octopus were nice, nothing to rave about but nice enough.
Chips were served cold and needed to request a fresh serve which was done.
Wine and cider were both nice.
All in all it was disappointing. I likely would not go again for a meal, maybe a drink and light snack as the whole table left very underwhelmed.

Beautiful grounds and decent quality food. Coffee was good and the service was reasonable if slow at times.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception here and I couldn’t recommend them enough! Alison was our point of contact and she was amazing, so informative and great communication which is vital for planning a wedding! Having a wedding a day after borders open was stressful but Alison made our day go off without a hitch.
Amazing food and beautiful grounds, we can’t wait to come back every anniversary!

Such slow service. They staff are rude and just don't care. It's Easter weekend and they don't have enough staff to serve people.
The selection of food was so poor as well.

Great service, nice platters, great location. Playground for the kids and aqua bikes on the lake.

First time here. Had to stand in line for 10 min to show my covid vaccine after which we were told sorry if you dont have a booking we cant help you. People left in droves. Ps the place was empty inside 2.4.22 at about 12.

Arrived at 2pm, waited 15 Mins to get in, was told no reservations no table.but we can have tapas on the grass.at 2: 50 I went to order food. 10 minutes later, I finally.get to the order counter. I asked if I can have a table in the main hall, was told no.but there were some empty table.she went to checked with the manager.she returned to tell me there's no table available (so many empty tables with plates and glasses unclear). Okie.no worries.tapas on the grass it is then.but alas, I was told I can't order food anymore (3 pm.) So after the whole wait in line, I was told I can't order food anymore? !? (Hungry mum is an angry mum!) I had to see the manager. Thankfully she sorted it out for me.she waived my iced coffee and an apple juice.
IMHO, it was not a pleasent experience.
Waiting.waiting.waiting.and more waiting.
At 4;10 pm, my food was not ready.went In to check, was told the kitchen forgot about it.then another lady told me the food was collected.someone had our food. I am hungry and so is my son.in the end, we got a refund. Its going to be awhile before I visit the place again.

This place is spectacular. I was there for a wedding the other day and the set up looked amazing (rustic chique), food was top class and the staff really riendly. I would definitely recommend as a wedding venue.

Food was good, not extraordinary, but good taste and good quantity. In my opinion I've missed a bit of customer service.
Good to spend Saturday or Sunday with the family.

Not a good experience. Disgusting fly issues all around the venue. Told ‘there’s not much we can do about it in this country’ whatever that means. We live in the area and go to serval restaurants around the valley (have for years) and they don’t seem to experience the same issues. The restaurant also doesn’t seem to want to take in suggestions on how to prevent the flies and make the experience more enjoyable for their customers, rather they shrug it off and give you an attitude. Service wasn’t great either, the hostess was rude and counter staff didn’t seem to know how to operate the ordering systems. We ate what we could while being swamped with flies and quickly left, not wanting to stay for wine tastings etc. We won’t be back and will provide honest mword of mouth’ feedback to friends and family considering the venue in the future. Such a shame for such a pretty space. Lots of opportunity for improvements.

Good vibe at the Oakover Grounds. Service was good, staff were friendly. It is most unfortunate that the breakfast meal was disappointing. Poached eggs and mushrooms were over cooked. Baby leaf spinach came to us wilted. Hopefully this is a one off.

Venue was great, loved no surcharge on a public holiday, grounds were beautiful, service was friendly, helpful and a little understaffed making it a dash slow at the counter when ordering, but nothing that materially tool away from the overall experience.

All the share food was delicious (we had about 5 of them). Baked brie really wanted to come with 1 more piece of bread, pork belly was just crunchy enough for me to not gripe, brisket was a little dry, and the fat wasn't rendered quite as much as is ideal, making it about a 6/10 brisket.

Wine tasting was generousample, and overall a great experience, would come back and order something other than the pork belly and brisket next time.

Bring the kids, loads of space to play/explore.

I had lunch here. We pre-ordered food but it still took 30+ mins to come out. It came with a glass of wine. Mine was literally a tad more than tasting size. I had the Barramundi (when it eventually came). It was nice but the potatoes that it came with (and it can be with not much else), were not cooked. What a waste of money, it was poor service and overpriced. A little more care and it could've been enjoyable.
