Had a Mothers Day booking, food was freezing, and the service was poor, and our complaint was badly handled as if we were an inconvenience.

Beutiful location with poor service. We were told that there was a 20 minute wait. 1hr late told 5mins away. Ha 20 minutes later food finally turns up.

It has to be said that the customer service that Oakover Grounds provide is disgraceful
It was a beautiful day we booked the day before to ensure catching up with some family friends from the UK and my visiting parents from the eastern states went smoothly. Well from the very start we booked for 1: 30pm were not seated till 2pm then after an enormous wait in line we finally ordered and at 3pm some of the food arrived by 3: 30pm my parents food and the twins food still haven't showed mind you they close at 4pm. When we approached a staff member about the situation she replied (Do you know how busy we are) The food was overpriced overrated and my mates mums fish had returned as it was cold
Toilets were dirty and no toilet paper
I hope your happy you ruined our long overdue afternoon catch-up with family and friends
We will never return
Totally unacceptable

We went for lunch yesturday (sunday) beauriful day lots of people. We had booked for 1.30 had to line up at the door didnt get in til 1.55 shown our seats then had to line up for order our lunch waited another 10 mins to order. While sitting in the main restuarant area, we would have loved a seat outside but no worries we will make the best of it. We started to look around, the place could do with a good clean. Windows dirty, spider webs and spiders in the window corners and dust every where.
Well 40 mins later we finally got our lunch by this time its nearly 3. Three of our table order burgers how can you go wrong. They were so over cooked the outside of the burger was nearly black and the inside was so dry. The chips werent much better. The other ordered the green bean salad.please! Steamed beans with a couple of slices of halumi ontop. Did we eat it yes why because we had waited soooo long and we were hungry. We did mention it to the waitress who came to take our plates. Not sure if she did forward our complaint.
The toilets could do with a good clean as well.
I cant complain about the staff they all looked exhausted and did the best they could.
I realise that a few of the staff were off sick and the ones that were there were run off their feet. So maybe dont take any more bookings and walkins. I fully understand that hospitality has taken a big hit but bad food and the long waits are definatly not going to help. And tourists haven't even started coming in big numbers yet.

Such slow service. They staff are rude and just don't care. It's Easter weekend and they don't have enough staff to serve people.
The selection of food was so poor as well.

First time here. Had to stand in line for 10 min to show my covid vaccine after which we were told sorry if you dont have a booking we cant help you. People left in droves. Ps the place was empty inside 2.4.22 at about 12.

Arrived at 2pm, waited 15 Mins to get in, was told no reservations no table.but we can have tapas on the grass.at 2: 50 I went to order food. 10 minutes later, I finally.get to the order counter. I asked if I can have a table in the main hall, was told no.but there were some empty table.she went to checked with the manager.she returned to tell me there's no table available (so many empty tables with plates and glasses unclear). Okie.no worries.tapas on the grass it is then.but alas, I was told I can't order food anymore (3 pm.) So after the whole wait in line, I was told I can't order food anymore? !? (Hungry mum is an angry mum!) I had to see the manager. Thankfully she sorted it out for me.she waived my iced coffee and an apple juice.
IMHO, it was not a pleasent experience.
Waiting.waiting.waiting.and more waiting.
At 4;10 pm, my food was not ready.went In to check, was told the kitchen forgot about it.then another lady told me the food was collected.someone had our food. I am hungry and so is my son.in the end, we got a refund. Its going to be awhile before I visit the place again.

Not a good experience. Disgusting fly issues all around the venue. Told ‘there’s not much we can do about it in this country’ whatever that means. We live in the area and go to serval restaurants around the valley (have for years) and they don’t seem to experience the same issues. The restaurant also doesn’t seem to want to take in suggestions on how to prevent the flies and make the experience more enjoyable for their customers, rather they shrug it off and give you an attitude. Service wasn’t great either, the hostess was rude and counter staff didn’t seem to know how to operate the ordering systems. We ate what we could while being swamped with flies and quickly left, not wanting to stay for wine tastings etc. We won’t be back and will provide honest mword of mouth’ feedback to friends and family considering the venue in the future. Such a shame for such a pretty space. Lots of opportunity for improvements.

Disappointing. Fitted us in for breakfast and given a breakfast menu at 11am. Approached the counter to order at 11.03am and was told the kitchen was closed and would have to wait another 20 minutes for the kitchen to open for lunch. Driving out of the driveway by 11.10am. Won't be back. If someone could please contact me that would be appreciated as we we definitely waited at the door and were seated by the hostess (a middle aged lady with long dark hair tied in a pony tail) upon arrival.

Great spot for a family lunch but waited an hour for food and had to leave. Plenty of excuses few apologies. Waiting an hour for burger and chips and a chicken salad is not acceptable.

Very underwhelmed with the quality of food. $25 for a BLT and the bacon was either really over cooked or old/breakfast left over. Mentioned something to the waiter. No response or apology or anything. $4.50 for my
glass of cold pressed juice thinking it must be fresh pressed. Was just bottled juice you buy at the supermarket. Very dissapointed

Great place, must be honest over rated. I think not enough is done for food an beverages. You have the space outside, but not allowed to order food and eat outside at the tables under the trees. Can only eat inside. This place can do so much better and could have so more customers. Had to drive elsewere where I could enjoy a beer with food and not just beer only.

Beautiful grounds. Cold average food. Asked to leave immediately due to having dogs which were on a website that we could bring them. We were way up the back of the grounds with the dogs and everyone kept coming over to ask to pat. Didn’t even receive a full refund for meal and drinks that weren’t finished and about 4 staff had seen us walk in and said hello.

Oakover-it! Waiting for more than an hour for food. Kids are starving. Service non existent. Not coming back here for sure. What a mess this place is. Can't order inside if you are outside. We were undercover but no table number so no, you have to order outside? Tje Staff didn't say the wait time for food is over an hour! Kids are beside themselves with hunger. What kind of place does that? Just useless.

If you are too busy to serve any food to walk in customer, you should better shut your door and serve reserved customer only. The lady manager told us they would be busy till midnight so no food can be served. What a restaurant with prides! Don’t think its food are really good just went there for its scene. And not going to go back again.

Wow - no customer service whatsoever. No one knows what’s going on and staff are rude.
Do I order inside or outside? Do I have a booking? No but I’ve been here an hour and 75% of your restaurant is still empty. There are so many other awesome places in the Swan Valley - take your money elsewhere.

Really nice place clean and tidy! Food average, nice products and maybe just some lack of cooking skill! What make me give low star is a really disappointing customer service!
Starting with the drink at the barrel…. Who served us wine had absolutely no idea about what he was serving, he served us two glass of merlot completely off, looking like Marsala, and only when we made him taste it he realised! And finally having a really bad experience at the Restaurant ;staff really low skilled but understandable in this tough period, with a management handling a simple issue with one dish in a very unprofessional way and not even giving us time to finish our dishes before let the staff take ours plates from the table, shutting the blinds and turning of fans in a hot and humid day! We understand the closing time but be flexible is part of the hospitality world and overall avoid the rudeness is the first rule for a good customer service. If you accept an order of main course at 3.20 pm you must allow your customers to enjoy the dishes and the time that they choose to spend at your place.

Lunch was disappointing. Only two red wines available for tasting. $16 wine became $28 to have with lunch - 75% extra seems excessive. Burger was nice but S&P squid was powdery and without a salt and pepper taste. The surrounding area is lovely but there are much better places to eat in the Valley.

Went for lunch and a drink on a Friday. Firstly the grounds are beautiful, nice grass area, playground and the water with the bikes.
However sadly that's where it ended for us.
We ordered Barramundi, Pork Belly, Prawns & Octopus with a side of chips.
Barramundi was nice, small portion.
Pork Belly was 80% in edible, it was tough and dry, very very disappointed and was not close to being finished.
Prawns & Octopus were nice, nothing to rave about but nice enough.
Chips were served cold and needed to request a fresh serve which was done.
Wine and cider were both nice.
All in all it was disappointing. I likely would not go again for a meal, maybe a drink and light snack as the whole table left very underwhelmed.

I had lunch here. We pre-ordered food but it still took 30+ mins to come out. It came with a glass of wine. Mine was literally a tad more than tasting size. I had the Barramundi (when it eventually came). It was nice but the potatoes that it came with (and it can be with not much else), were not cooked. What a waste of money, it was poor service and overpriced. A little more care and it could've been enjoyable.
