This place is unique. They had live music at the door. There is both inside and outside seating. The food is so yummy. This place has a character of its own and is worth visiting over and over again!

Beautiful cafe & friendly staff. Unfortunately for the price of the set, there weren't enough serves for everyone in our group so some missed out or only had a small bite to share.

Fantastic spot to grab a coffee and relax in the sun. Great menu with a lot of GF options as well.

Confusing experience. Reviews and asthetic are fantastic, gorgeous little courtyard out the back and quaint setting. Food looks incredible in photos and when it comes to the table. The only issue was it was rather bland. There was a small spoonful of chilli/capsicum reduction and some caramelized onion which was delicious, but overall the predominant flavour was of plain bread, quite flavourless. Likewise with the smashed avo - no dukkah or dressing on the side salad. A pity as overall the place is lovely, but unless they can dress up the breakfasts with a little more flavour it'll be a stretch to come back.

Table seating system set up for staff and doesn't work well for customers!
Find your table 1st then order often leads to tables taken by the time you've ordered.
Have had issues a few times and staff pretty rude when I bring the problem of their table system to their attention.
Besides that the place is great.

Overpriced food that tastes so so at best. Tiny, burnt egg on a slice of bread for 6 Dollars as a children's dish? Other food far too oily. Plus, a 45 minute wait because the kitchen is ill equipped for the number of tables. We chose this place for lunch because online reviews showed two attractive play areas. These were devoid of toys when we visited today.
Would give it 0 stars if I could.

Encapsulates what freo is all about: old warehouses and furniture turned chic, weird paintings that probably have some deep meaning and great food.the whole place has a relaxed vibe, and the flavours of the dishes are tasty.

I felt like Moore and Moores has really updated their game with their high tea option! We were able to have vegetarian and gluten free options which were so lovely. I could easily have a high tea there weekly it was that good! Service was welcoming and prompt!

Found the cafe by accident with some friends last year and absolutely loved it! Food had so much flavour and excellent service! Was excited to try the high tea to which I did this weekend and once again was impressed at the service and food! Big recommendation to as a freo cafe that caters to all diets!

Awesome venue with the gallery attached. However got food poisoning from the bircher muesli (25/09/2021), when I told the receptionist at my accommodation this she told me her friend used to work there and apparently the food storage is not very good. The bircher muesli itself was okay, a bit too sweet for my liking, the vomiting several hours later without having any other food or other reason to be ill was less than ideal.

So this place puts a lot of effort into making sure you know how organic, free range, sustainable, responsible etc etc. They are. So much so that the menu is an overcomplicated mess of eco woke nomenclature. We get it, we support it, just keep it simple.

Price point - something like $80 for eggs on toast with a couple of sides and coffees. Saw people come in, sit down, look at the menu for 5 mins, get up and walk out.

Tasty, yes. Sustainable? ! Good luck.

I don't normally write negative reviews, but I have been coming here on and off mainly for coffee over the course of 1.5 years (due to the close proximity to uni) and the attitude of some staff members is disappointing. The 3 stars are for the ones who are friendly. The food is good, but I really can't see past the bad attitude of some staff. I work in hospitality too so I empathise with how tiring it can be, but if you can't even smile or feel the need to be snarky with customers, find another industry. Today was the final straw. I will be foregoing my morning coffee instead of returning again.

Had some of their vegan cakes and they were perfect. Saw lots of great vegan options on the menu too. Look forward to coming here again in the future.

Was looking forward to lunch due to the great reviews here. Was bitterly disappointed by my experience. Ordered the Pot of Moore, which on the menu read delicious and filling for a wintery day. As you can see from the photo, you got 2 sticks of bread (not toast like described) and a ramekin of sauce with an over baked egg. Seasonal veg was a few leaves of wilted kale. You can see in the photo the egg is quite over cooked and the ingredients in the ramekin tasted like Passata sauce, could not detect any seasoning or the listed ingredients.

For $19, I felt ripped off, as I finished the “pot” in 2 and a half mouthfuls and remained hungry thereafter.

On a good note, the kids pancakes and the cake was delicious, but again, on the expensive side. Ambiance is great and service very friendly.

Usually love this place. But it was busy today and they didn't manage the busyness that well. The vegan Nachos were disappointing.

Came here with a group of friends for brunch. They brought out our food very quickly! Very fast and efficient.
Did however forget our coffee orders so we had to ask for them again after we'd finished our meals - that's the only reason for a 4 star.

Really enjoyed the food, service and the ambiance of this place.

Food tasted very different to standard options you see everywhere, and we loved it. The art and overall design of the place was great too.

The only cons: Please provide scrambled eggs option as well, as some people cannot have lose eggs. I was told Poached and fried were the only options, which was a bit upsetting.

As I stepped in this morning, 'Great Scotch! ', I felt like I was time travelled back to the year 1844, that is 177 years ago when the Moore building was constructed. I was so amazed at the architecture of this building and the Colonia characteristic of the building. Moore cafe is just part of the Moore building and is interconnected to the exhibition or gallery hall. The art exhibition is on. 'Fantastic! ' is all I can say. The nice coffee was made from the Leaf bean. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. I like this building. Cheers! (2021-06)

Awesome large cafe/art gallery space. Food very nice. Got a chai latte, tasted like warm milk, not great chai. Great range of food and treats though.
