Madalenas bar reviews
67Too pricey for the size of meals. We spent over $100 per person and left hungry. Great dishes otherwise.
Good service and interesting seafood menu. Wine list is big enough but glass options are limited and not really match with food.
It was our first time there and we were so dissapointed we booked to be seated inside. However it was very hot seemed to have only fans and terribly loud. Luckily we could change to outside where it was much cooler by 8.30 pm. We ordered the chefs selection it was pretty average and no italian bread served or rice with 6 small pieces of fish. $190 lighter we both ended up having diarrhoea.coincidence?
Well we wont go there again
and as my partner said the owner is laughing all the way to the bank!
This place is an absolute rip off to say the least, you would have to order every dish on the menu to have a satisfying meal for 2 people, the beer on tap is rubbish probably the worst i have ever had!
Would never go back again.
Really Cool relaxed bar/restaurant with a awesome wine list and really good food.
Bookings are highly recommended although they do keep some tables available for walk-ins.
One of the best meals I've had in WA. Highly highly recommended for amazing seafood. The prawn cervechi was the most unique dish I've had in wa
My partner and I had heard good things about this place, and they promoted themselves and their food heavily, so we were really looking forward to trying them out.
Menu was quite limited, as was the wine list (by the glass, at least).
Portions were very small, the food didn't really impress, and it was expensive. I don't mind paying, but not for average food.
The food was fantastic, and the service was very lovely. Only comment would be we expected more seafood plates from the chefs selection - only 2 of 6 were seafood, but all the dishes were extremely tasty, so no complaints. Plus the fresh sourdough and off-menu swordfish we got in the chefs selection was DELICIOUS.
We were so looking forward to visiting Madalenas having read the menu. We have tried 4 different Chefs Selections at various restaurants in Fremantle and have always been blown away by the food we have been offered so we anticipated a great night. Unfortunately this was not the case here. We expected a seafood feast and got mostly veggies - a few tiny tuna pieces and one fish dish; no prawns, no oysters, no scallops, no sardines. Service was slow and staff unintersted. Water not refilled and no drinks offered after the initial one. When we got home and looked again at the menu we could see that had we ordered the same food off the menu it would have been significantly cheaper. All in all a disappointing night.
Wine was sensational food was absolutely special and the young lady with her recommendations capped it off.
The Fish collar was unbelievable.
Average food for the price. Service was also pretty slow. Table wasn’t ready for our booking time, they need to space out bookings more. Overall wouldn’t go back.
Great food, attentive service. Dishes arrived very quickly and plates cleared almost before we were done. All very rushed and we were pushed outside as the next cover sitting had arrived. Not a big fan of the 2 hour time limit.feels like a fast food outlet for dining experience. Won't be rushing back.
Exceptional, we were headed to another restaurant and couldn't get in, what a treasure find is Madelenas Bar. It was sexy Sunday Arvo indulgence. The food 2as exceptional, fresh and sensational.
Expensive but delicious. Definitely paying for a great tasting, high quality food. Can’t complain. The tuna with beetroot paired with an Italian nebbiolo was mind blowing
Food was delicious, drinks were delicious, menu had a couple of extra apostrophes but not enough to take away from a 5 star experience
Don't bother, go to La Cabana next door, where the service and the food are great for half the price. I will never return.
Probably rank the 6 course meal as one of the best I've had in Perth couldn't fault the food or service but music was just a bit loud for me being a bit deaf in the ears. Well done guys)
Nice place - had a number of dishes and a very decent bottle of Spanish wine. Good vibe on a weekend too with some in for food and some just for a drink before moving on.
Great vibe and most importantly great food. Is a little on the pricier side but the food is amazing. My wife had some dietary requirements and they took care of it no problem. Can't rate the staff there highly enough. Btw did I say the food is amazing
Sad to say from friendly Neighbourhood Bodega to rude small plate overpriced wanna be Melbourne spot. We miss the old spirit of Madelena's
