La Sosta reviews
75Literally the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life. The food was that good it made me question whether everything I’ve consumed up to this point was even real food. The service was incredible too, the staff were so warm and friendly. Will absolutely be back again, I can’t wait:)
Great food amazing service couldn’t ask for anything more from a restaurant. I have been coming here for a few years and they never disappoint. Would high recommend
Excellent food, ambience, service, desserts, vibe. Also 8 birthday celebrations in one night? There seemed to be a birthday being celebrated at every table… so I guess it’s good for birthday dinners as well.
Fantastic Italian restaurant. Service was great and the wait staff were very personable. I had the Spada alla Puttanesca (swordfish) and it melt in my mouth.
This is an interesting one as I have had two very different experiences at La Sosta. When I visited back in February, it was great, definitely 5 out of 5. The waiter (the nice Italian sounding bloke upstairs) was brilliant, the food was amazing and the hospitality was great.
This Friday, the waitress was quite unfriendly and she seemed to have a bad evening, which is perfectly fine. But the way she was setting tables and moving things was a bit angry-looking and she hit us a couple of times. Again, I understand things can be rough at times, but you know, it is a bit not welcoming for us visitors.
The Sea Urchin pasta was absolutely delicious and totally out of my comfort zone. The pasta was truly aldenta.
The Squid ink pasta my wife absolutely loved
When I ordered "focaccia di Recco" I was sceptic to find the real focaccia di Recco taste, but my god it was so good and so similar to the original! Then homemade gnocchi with ragù and lasagnette with prawns and pistacchio: 10/10!
Superb variety of wine too and super kind staff! Can't wait to be back.
I had a wonderful experience with both food and drinks. Cod croquettes then Lamb shoulder and the Italian blue cheese for desert. For wine we had a beautiful Salinto that tasted better with each sip. With a perfect finish with a barolo grappa and this was topped with a mascarto grappa. A really fantastic experience
Here the waiters and waitresses actually interact with you and are concerned that you're having a great experience. The food is rich with taste and presented amazingly.
Enjoyed our meals, good flavour on all of our orders
Staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. Excellent table service.
Very disappointing service that ruined the evening. We walked in on an early Monday evening (was early so the place was empty), and stood waiting by the “please wait to be seated sign”. We could see the waitress on the side of the bar, doing nothing, looked us literally in the eye and did not take us to a table. We were “lucky” that another chap was considerate enough to say that we can go in and get seated, by her. Her being so busy doing nothing. Not going back there again
Thank you so much La Sosta, especially our fantastic waitress Elena who was truly wonderful! We came here on Saturday night for dinner with my family and it certainly won’t be the last time! The food was delicious- fresh and authentic. Thank you for accommodating my grandfather and his wheelchair requirements. I wish I could give you guys 10 stars!
Duck ragu parpadelle too salty. Duck chunks dry. Waiter forgot our wine, which he said he would open early to breathe. Foccacia was delishious however.
Staff are lovely and hospitable, and just as good- the food is freshly housemaid and tastes Superb.
Combined with the place’s great atmosphere and location, you really get to see what a 5 star dinning looks like.
We are very happy to recommend this restaurant. They said you should not give 5 stars, so you have room for errors. Well they deserve 5+ stars. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with friendly staff. They have a open kitchen area so you can see your meals being prepared. The service was very top class and nothing was a trouble. As for the menu and the food, I left there with a smile on my face and will be talking about it for awhile. We have our favourite table and we will be back.
Thank You La Sosta and your staff.
4 of us booked at La Sosta last Saturday and even though the place was pretty busy the service (including drinks) was very efficient and helpful. The meals were brilliant and we had a thoroughly great night. Its my 4 th time at this establishment and the quality and service have remained consistent which is rare in Freo. Special mention to the staff for their politeness and good sense of fun. Probably my favourite restaurant in Fremantle.
Finally found the stairs. Worth the effort to track this place down. Great food and fantastic service.
Easily the best Italian food in Fremantle, but it comes at a price.a worthwhile price. Staff and service is as good as the food.excellent
Taking my wife out for a lovely date night we arrived at La Sosta, a lovely Italian restaurant bursting with a positive wait staff, all adorned with adorably heavy Italian accents, yet nothing seemed lost in translation.
We had a corner outside table, overlooking a street artist and live music lifting up from below. Definitely a romantic venue but if going in the evening, dress warm, as it got a little chilly with the wind.
We got a bottle of red wine Malbec ($45) but nothing amazing.
The cheese platter was tasty but a little pricy. I think it ended up to be about $45 (see pic).
The Grigliata Imperiale ($45) was a good mix of seafood full of deep flavors and savory aromas.
The baby goat papadelle was tasty and tender, with bright, fresh popping green peas. Earthy and unique.
It was a little strange for such a upscale restaurant, to have to pay at the door. A check at the table would been appreciated.
Overall it was a night of ambience and quality.
Great service, great food, great ambiance. Highly recommended. Did I mention great value for money! Jt
