Koko Black reviews
60Great chocolate and hot chocolates. Used to prefer table service, now need to order before sitting down.
Very patronising and defensive response by the blonde girl serving, arguing with me over the time it had taken to provide a simple black tea. Waiting nearly 20 minutes so far, despite her insistence it had only been 5.
Known as a one of the most prestige chocolatiers in Perth.
They sell jewels of chocolates and serve a drink and a decent dessert in the cafe area.
It’s not cheap so it’s good as a gift or a souvenir from Perth.
Today I bought a bottle of Honey macadamia chocolate for my husband.
And I will buy another one for my kids before Easter.
No reasons to buy chocolates from anywhere else as they must use quality ingredients and they make chocolates locally.
It seems to be in a spiral downwards into the sort of cafe I don’t like. I used to love it here. However the recent visits have been overwhelmingly frustrating and disappointing. The service is much poorer than it used to be. No one gives you water or a napkin. Dirty tables that have bits of food stuck to them. The station of water and napkins is there but you don’t know if you can self serve. Staff are too busy or just not interested. The hot chocolate affogato is 80% ice cream, 20% hot chocolate. Prices go up and servings get smaller. Single vegetarian option but that is utterly boring and nasty. Great if you love pesto and ricotta, useless if you don’t.
Basically I don’t enjoy myself here anymore. I just have tried to force it for a while because I used to love it.
Very nice cappuccino. I like the way they give you a small cup of chocolate to sprinkle on top yourself
Ok let me just tell you that i had the best hot chocolate of my life! It was so good! With that they brought you a tiny little plate of chocolate to try complimentary of the hot chocolate. And the decorations were so cute and overall it was an amazing experience. Then the second time i came here i ordered a cappuccino and you got to put the choclate on yourself and it was not the plain powder but grated dark chocolate i would defanitly recomend going there with some friends and catching up
Friendly staff and great drinks but savoury food menu isn't very extensive. Ordered a sandwich which I used to order often a few years ago. It's gone downhill, boring tasteless dry toasted sandwhich with barely any filling. Highly disappointed.
Not cheap either so expect something fresh and gourmet for what you're paying and for the type of cafe it is. No other savoury to order so limited to the sandwiches, I believe they are made off site. Wouldn't be going back for one.
The hot chocolate is not what it used to be. It used to be like drinking melted chocolate and now it’s much more milky. Not worth $7.
Belgian hot chocolate is superb, chicken and avo toastie is very tasty and flat white is quite decent
Good chocolate, excellent hot chocolate, food portions exceedingly small/overpriced. Would heartily recommend crumpets though. Ideal for families and friends.
Absolutley poor. Dilute cappuccino. Very small expensive toasty. Watery hot chocolate that i could have made at home. Supposed to be thick and decadent chocolate. All staff could do is tell there manager. Very lame. Used to be top notch. Never comming back again. Should have gone to Hungry Jack instead.
Only bought their roasted macadamias & dark chocolate ($8.9) and signature hot chocolate, dark choco savings. Both were quite nice. Products displayed were quite dusty. For a fancy cafe like this, they should not let their products displayed with dust though. The friendly lady served me grabbed my order from the display.
The prices are quite pricey for most of beverages, well I guess it must be really nice though. I will be back to try their signature hot chocolate and hopefully it's worth for money.
A trendy coffee shop with a charming sitting area inside and tables outside. Their range of coffee includes traditional and non-traditional ice coffees with a variety of ice-cream or other toppings to choose from. Check out their window display of small chocolates - just to add to the experience. On the dark side, it would be nice if cashier girls act welcoming and friendly.
Love this place but they close down for the day when ever they feel like it. Got here at 9: 20pm and it's closed which they state that today they shut at 10pm.
I love to come to this place. Excellent options for chocolate lovers. Highly recommended for a good afternoon treat. Happy to come back
As always, the service, coffee and cake were exemplary. It's a pleasure I give myself as regularly as possible.
Absolutely the best warm chocolate drink around, and also the sweetest drink I ever have drank. The staff is friendly and attentive.
I go there at least once a week for a coffee and some treats. They have a reasonable assortment of vegan options - some can be ordered in small sizes for dining in, while others are available for takeaway. Although it's a fancy place, prices are ok, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. I couldn't help but notice that they have very different ethnic backgrounds, which just makes me like this place more. I recommend the Belgian Hot Choc and the pistacchio praline.
Absolutely amazingly thick hot belgian chocolate, and the best chocolate icecream you can indulge in. Their cakes were amazing, and their truffles are delicious. Only downside is that their slightly overpriced.
Had coffee and sweets at Koko Black. Amazing chocolates of the highest quality. Excellent service made for a wonderful experience.
