Kate's Place reviews
50I really like this place, it's got nice owners, good service, good coffee, the food is a bit meh, ie the ham and cheese toasty, it could of just be my preferences.
Loved the food.
Loved the staff.
Great place to have a yummy breakie and everyone is happy
Popped in for a quick bite to eat whilst busy exploring Albany, guy at the counter was friendly and the menu was pretty varied, we had a lovely salmon sandwich with salad, lots of salmon and tasted wonderful, only issue was my husband’s plate was badly chipped. I ordered cake with my coffee but the guy was busy washing up and forget it but he was only too happy to oblige when we reminded him and we got it to takeaway with cream.
Prompt service. Still open at 4.30 for afternoon tea:) delicious cake & really good iced coffee in a proper glass.
Always service with a friendly smile, which has what has had me returning over and over again over the last 10 years!
Great food, great coffee, inviting and welcoming service - and a kid friendly Cafe at the rear.
First time trying Kate's Place. Had a great experience here. Food was great - had the breakfast roll, Panini, smoked salmon and sweet potato fries. All tasted great. Coffee was really good too - definitely one of the better ones I've had.
Service staff were really helpful and accommodating given we had a baby with us.
Nice ambience too as the cafe faces the harbour and has lots of light in the front. Kids play area at the back.
Overall, highly recommend a try and will be back again if in Albany.
Tasty chips, warm welcoming environment with an outlook to the harbour and foreshore building facades.
Panini and delicious coffee one day and yummy Brekky the next. Lovely setting and atmosphere to match.
Coffee, food, staff, owner, Barrista very entertaining. Prices very reasonable. Albany Rocks.
Cosy little Cafe. All day menu which is possibly a little small, but make up for it with taste and perfection of each dish. Moderate pricing never felt I paid to much.
Most importantly the chips are outstanding
They also do art/photography displays which are all available for purchase. Also make the place feel fresh as they get swapped out every so often.
9/10 definitely coming back and a popular spot for locals
Delicious food and the service was fantastic. I was actually surprised at how quickly the food came out, I was expecting to sit and relax for a bit first!
Lovely cosy place to stop for a bite in Albany and friendly team but very small portion sizes. I ordered the sweet potato fritters and walked away hungry. Felt overcharged for what we got sadly.
My husband and dad had the ham panini and said that it was the best they have ever had!
Great coffee, lovely staff and atmosphere. Would 100% recommend!
Everytime I am in Albany, I come back here. Its a jewel of a place. Mouth watering cakes and delicious coffee. Soft touch, great ambiance, good service. Keep it up
This is just the perfect spot. Eclectic in feel, perfect food and service. Sad it was only open one day that I was there due to some renovations but I went there twice in the day, the beginning and the end for a cuppa and some orange flourless cake and a yummy cuppa in a comfy chair with my dog watching the world go by. Breakfast was an avo on toast with a poached egg and done to perfection.
The staff were nice and the place has a funky look with the mismatched furniture. Coffee was ok but the mushrooms were nothing to write home about.
A fave stop in Albany. Service is always great, coffee and food delicious, warm and inviting atmosphere.
We came to Kate's place for morning tea and we're not disappointed. The service was fast and friendly and the vanilla slice we had was to die for. There is indoor and outdoor seating and it's lovely to sit outside with the view of the sound. Highly recommend coming here.
Really friendly service, nice ambience and fantastic food. Most recently we had the bacon + poached eggs, and the smashed avocado, both delicious. We've been here each time we visit Albany and it's been really good each time.
Pumpkin Soup; I have been to South Africa, East Asia and Germany (the home of pumpkin soup) but I have never tasted something quite as beautiful as this. After spending the morning climbing a mountain, I found myself questioning "what is the point" but now I know why, it was all for Kate's Pumpkin Soup. Thank you Kate, you made my day.
