Kalamunda Hotel reviews
49Historic hotel which is popular with the locals. As is my usual experience with hotels there were no vegetarian/vegan choices on the seniors' menu. I'd just like to say to the manager that the Mundaring Weir Hotel has two on theirs. It would be good to see you do the same.
Friendly staff and good food and reasonable price. Plenty of outside seating. Dogfriendly to friendly dogs. Will go there again
My partner and I had a great lunch today - steak sandwich and the vegan parmagiana. Service was very good and the food was excellent. We loved the beautiful location and old style pub feel. Keep up the good work!
Beer specials are great value! 5 stars for that but the Kalamunda Hotel looses 3 stars for the food. I ordered the Freo Occy and it was out of date and off. I shared it with my friend who ended up vomiting off it. The bar manager was professional and asked our thoughts about it and offered a full refund which was much appreciated, so I gave a extra star just because she was extremely polite and professional.
Came back a second time and once again the beers were priced extremely well but the stake sandwich was not the best. Stake was as dry as a old leather boot and about 5mm thick, obviously been sledge hammered to a inch of its life. Great atmosphere and beers just a shame the food is below par. I would be up here more often if the food was a little better quality.
Love it here. Great atmosphere and awesome staff. The Restaurant Manager is lovely. The incentive for care staff is just amazing. Thank you.
Not the best - was disappointed with the steak but just loved the facility and atmosphere- will go back for that - Staff were great and so helpful - pitty about the steak
I've lived in the Kalamunda area for 12 years. Here is what I think based on multiple experiences.
Cons:
1. Massive smoking area at the front door of the pub. You and your kids will be breathing second-hand smoke if you sit down in the beer garden that is largely dedicated to smokers.
2. Not family/kid friendly. It has no area for kids to play despite being a huge pub with ample outdoor areas. This is hugely behind the times for a pub in Perth.
3. For the main pub in the Kalamunda hills community it seems to have little to no interest in being a place for the community to enjoy.
4. Food is overpriced and low quality. Always has been.
Pros:
1. Beautiful old heritage pub in a great location.
Wife and I had the pleasure of having lunch here today (first timers at the Kalamunda Hotel). What an amazing experience! Everything was fantastic from the first-class service all the way to the awesome meals. The hotel itself is beautiful both inside and out and we enjoyed our time there. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and so efficient! Thank you all and we will most definitely be visiting again soon.
