International on the Water Hotel

Fabulous fresh ingredient meal. Serves so large that we needed an extra person to help us eat them.
Good wine list. Oh the view.

The waitress took our food order and they took over 45mns to bring the food out. Restaurant wasn't busy only two people besides us. Very disappointed.

I agree with David Leblanc from 2mths ago. This place has definitely been renovated BUT.it's all smoke and mirrors and shiny candelabras in the main area. That's where the money has been spent. Yes, there is marble/porcelain or whatever tiles floor to ceiling in the bathroom but it's freezing in there, especially this time of year, winter. We had one face washer and there was a little tube of shampoo each, so I guess that that's an improvement.but no conditioners, no hand towels, a flat sheet on the king single bed that doesn't fit, shabby finishes throughout and an extremely noisy reverse cycle aircon. Not even a jug or complimentary bottle of water in the fridge. Also front counter staff person unable to understand a simple question of, "Is this where I sign in? Twice I was sent to the Ladies. Maybe it was better appointed. There are at least 100 rooms, very few bookings yet our view was of the scrap yard next door. This is DEFINITELY not worth $202 a night. Would not recommend in a hurry

What a lovely venue, tucked away down a back street overlooking the river. Great food at reasonable prices. Service sometimes a little slow, but staff were pleasant and friendly.

Love this place, food is great, staff are friendly. The terrace should be packed on weekends, unfortunately online presents is not the best, old information, many different names.

Disappointing from arrival. No staff at the counter for check in, just a sign saying back in 5 minutes. 10 minutes later staff arrived at the counter. When checking in we were told that we needed to pay a $500 deposit on the room which was not mentioned when booking with Agoda. Absolutely refused to pay it and after going back and fourth with staff for 10 mins we were finally allowed to check in to our room. The room was nice albeit no balcony, below average view and missing basic things that a 4-star hotel should have. Ie. Water in fridge, only 1 face towel for 2 people, no body wash, only 2 cheap little soap bars and small bottles of shampoo and conditioner despite having a bathtub? Floor mat was dirty. Definitely not worth the price nor the 4 star rating. At check out we had to wait another 10 minutes because the receptionist was apparently checking someone else's room to see if there was any damages and again had the back in 5 mins sign up. I will give a special mention to their restaurant though, we ordered the pork belly and it was the best I've ever had.

Today I became a lady who lunches. It was fabulous. We took a picture in front if the Chandelier in the foyer and sent it to our boss. The burger I had was delicious but the pork belly the lady at the next table was eating looked even better. Don't worry I'll have it next time. Thanks for having us. We'll be back.

Over priced for what the rooms are and the cleanliness wasn’t that flash. We had what looked like pube hairs in our bath room and someone’s long hair left in the bath. They don’t supply body wash either.
However the meals here are nice.

We order the steak yesterday food was looking amazing beautiful garnish perfect cook steak delicious Thankyou for lovely dinner we enjoyed.

One star on this occasion due to a specific issue but otherwise I would give this venue four or five stars!
Not a stay.on hold to speak to someone - for more than 10 minutes on a Sunday when I hung up and called another property.
Maybe you need to hire more staff to manage calls.just lost this sale!
A shame because we have enjoyed this location previously but always a long hold to get through to someone - but this time you outdid yourselves hence this review.
I can’t get through to give you this info directly and it probably wouldn’t get to those who can fix the problem if we did.

PS: I weakened and called back as I had a specific question regarding an advertised event and incorrect timing being shown (midday instead of dinner). I waited again for several minutes and eventually spoke to a lovely young Man who was clearly feeling the pressure but still took the time to be polite and courteous and dealt with my query very professionally.
This is not the first time that incorrect information has been listed for an event and in fact over Christmas, Christmas day options weren’t listed at all and we could never get through to anybody to ask the question otherwise we would love to have come to this venue for Christmas lunch. (We did find out but way too late to book).
So, between incorrect information and an inability to speak to somebody at the hotel, management has a bit of work to do?
On a positive note. GREAT venue, excellent service and an amazing location!

This place was the worst hotel I have ever seen. You expect to arrive and see a gorgeous hotel, when in fact it's dull old building joined on to a wall going nowhere. The lady at reception sent us on a wild goose chase to find our room. She had worked there for over 2 years. In the room the lamp was broken toilet running, no remote for TV, and TV did not work. After talking to management they offered us another room, only to find it was a cheaper room, smaller room and the little view of the river we did have was now gone. To date have not received a difference for room change (meant to get $62 back) and it ruined my whole romantic night away

Food was amazing, staff are helpful and so kind. The hotel is beautiful. Such a good afternoon, we chilled by the river and had drinks. They have a new menu which is cool and yummy cocktails too. Definitely recommend trying it out. All was so perfect.

Woah! Can't wait to come back again! Got this hotel for a excellent price at ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ I like this hotel and I'm so thankful I stayed here for much less than what I typically pay.

Had lunch with my husband and friends yesterday we were really impressed the setting was out of this world could not fault any of the dishes they were really nice and the staff were so friendly good work Ascott Inn

Went there for breakfast with a group booking, sorry to say breakfast was terrible, not enough food was available many went without as only small amounts were put out in serving dishes

Always a great place for awesome food.
Good atmosphere and our group always has a fantastic time there.

Big thanks to manager Helen and her team for coming in Good Friday to deal with birthday party of 15 people (which had inadvertently been cancelled.no fault of theirs). At very short notice Helen and team got meals, drinks, coffees out for everyone, with a smile and great service. Meals were truly perfect and we found the prices very reasonable too. We all look forward to next visit and thoroughly recommend Swan River Hotel! Thanks again, Helen. Riane, Irena (the birthday girls:) )
