Friar Tucks Irish Bar/Restaurant reviews
69Very good Atmosphere and the bar staff are very friendly, great cold beers always definitely recommended
Amazing food and service. Very clean and organised restaurant. Staff are extremely friendly and could not recommend this place even more. My partner and I are very impressed
An unfortunate night at Friar Tucks last night apron arriving asked the staff if they could wipe the table as my arms stuck to the table whilst awaiting for her to return she stopped and had a casual chat with another staff member in plain view for about 5 minutes before returning and cleaning the table after we ordered the food took a little bit to arrive but not to bad until my order arrived which was the veggie curry pot but what was delivered was filled with chicken and about 10 giant pieces of green capsicum no sign of anything else resembling a vegetable I waved the staff over to inform them they had given me the wrong order and got a simple reply well I put it thru as a vegetable curry a short time later another staff member came to the table and asked if I wanted them to add some vegetables to the bowl to which I declined I must point out at this stage I’m not a vegetarian but I wanted what I had ordered so I waited for my friends to finish the roast 3 course meal and we sat and waited about another 15 minutes whilst the staff actively avoided us until we got up and went to the counter to pay and explain we had been sitting and waiting for the desert to come out for half and hour in the end told them not to worry about the desert and left so out of 3 orders they stuffed 1 completely and didn’t complete another I don’t blame the staff serving us they just young kids with no leadership more interested in having a chat near the register than customer service or quality control the picture supplied is the “veggie curry pot I was served” chicken and capsicum
10 of us had lunch - all meals were superb. Great service as well. Nice beers. Really good choices for seniors as well. Will return tonight in fact. Looks like its back to where it used to be - really great!
A group of us bowling ladies went to Friar Tucks for a birthday celebration and as it was a Monday lunchtime we made our own atmosphere and laughter, it may be better at night
Went tonight mother-in-law 79 birthday weekend most food was good, service just put stuff on table no real effort, mother-in-law steak not eatable took home for dog at 8.10 wanted to order cocktails was told bar was closed, have been here before really nice tonight the staff didn't want to be there, not a nice experience, no wonder not many there we will stay away.
We popped in on a Monday night, nice and quiet but still enough people to create a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food (New Zealand mussels, the best garlic bread I’ve ever had, garlic mushrooms and calamari) amazing!
Can’t believe we’ve left it so long to check the place out. Will be back 100%
Beautiful meal and great service.
Aircon little cold and music little loud, could not hear people talking, otherwise brilliant.
Food was average and the drinks service I'm sure the guy got lost making the drinks took forever to get severd
Amazing food, fast service and staff where beautiful
Was soooo good had the Barra and veggies
Ordered 2 meals. Waited for 2 hours. Was told meals were being plated up and would be out in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later still no meal. Had to ask for money back. Won't be rushing back any time soon. Very poor service.
Awesome meal, always a great selection to choose from.
Love love the soda bread, lamb shanks, salmon, fish chowder.
We are competing on who has the tastiest meal - barramundi vs sirloin steak - both amazing with lovely service ️
Haven't been back since last bad experience 12 months ago, but thought it was time to give it another go, as it is within walking distance. Should not have bothered. Food below average - ordered seafood chowder, no flavour, just a little bit of seafood in a bowl of warm cream. Service - also below average. Staff just standing around chatting amongst themselves - not at all interested in paying customers. Guess we will see you again in another 12 months (maybe)
The rump I had was cooked to perfection. Great thick chips instead of those disgusting fries everyone serves. Lots of interesting Irish stuff and knick knacks around to check out. Not big but cozy. Would have liked to see the seat cushions cleaner and the really cool menus not sticky. Definitely a pub and not at all upmarket but in saying that the garden and entrance is lovely and the food is great.
Very friendly service and a delicious steak sandwich with chips. Nice little place - the decor is a bit hit and miss, but interesting photos adorn the walls, and the beer is good!
Had a great night for sons 16th birthday, the staff put up the decorations for us arriving brought out cake great place so worth 40min drive for yummy food
Great food, lovely family pub.
Jackie served us and was so friendly and helpful, with a ready smile and good humour.
The staff all worked hard during a very busy time, were attentive to customers and very mindful about clearing away and keeping the room clean and inviting.
With excellent customer service from Jackie and colleagues, good food and a nice atmosphere we will definitely be back.
We hope that the young people employed here are given this very positive feedback, they really do represent their place of work well, their employers should be very proud of them.
We had a lovely time and would absolutely recommend Friar Tuck's to all
Thank you
Sigh.friar tucks, went there for a quick lunch with fam. Been to friar tucks many times throughout the years but this time was horrendous! The young man serving us had a filthy attitude, I recommend keep a great distance from this restaurant. The food took more than an 1 hour to come out and 1 drink took 26 minutes to come out, drink orders were forgotten and had to ask when they would come out. We asked for a pork roast which they began to tell us that they did not have any, but then Why is it
On your special board FRIAR TUCKS? ! There was only 1 good worker on the floor, tables took so long to be cleaned. PEOPLE had to clean the tables themselves! Disgraceful. This is the worst Irish pub I’ve been to, been here so many times and it was lovely but what have you done friar tucks? ! Is there a new owner or do they just not care? !? Do all the washed up maccas kids beach here after they get fired from fast food venues? Because this food was appalling and disgraceful to the Irish community. As a person of Irish descent this was disgraceful to my ancestors. Fix your attitude friar tucks! Never coming back.
Kookaburra out!
Friar Tucks is a well positioned pub it is nestled in the suburb of dawsville with lots of trees and a great feed.
