Frederick's Café reviews
56Excellent staff at Fredericks! Probably the nicest staff in Albany! The food is good and service is always with a smile.
Quite a disappointing start to our holiday! We paid almost $100 for breakfast for 4 people just to be disappointed. It took 25 minutes for it to be served in a non busy hour. The eggs on the Benedict were overcooked, the sauce tasted sour and had to ask for the elements like maypole syrup be served with what presented on the menu. The fresh juice was only commendable. I do not recommend it.
After reading some of the excellent reviews I was quite disappointed with my breakfast. Service was great, coffee was OK, hence two stars, but the scrambled eggs were amongst the worst I have ever had, as they were quite loose and watery in consistency. Sorry guys I won't be rushing back.
Not much displays selection and ask for mug which looks like cup plus long wait for food.
Still happy with coffee and very friendly staff.
Probably wouldn't order the Reuben again i was honestly pretty let down by the sliver of corned beef, textually it was incorrect. As a chef i have high standards when it comes to classics and try to go easy on places just trying to give it ago but i am passionate and this left me googling other places to go eat.
Food and drinks are standard nothing stands out. 3 stars as they don't have toilet facilities. My son did not like how the pancake was made, a little bit bitter.
We have just enjoyed the most amazing treats and coffee from this cafe. Lovely food and polite, friendly service. An all-round pleasant experience, which we will repeat next time we are in Albany.
Had big brekkie.very nice not as BIG as expected but nice and tasty all the same average coffee.would return
Thanks guys
I like this place. I was there the other day when it was raining heavily and really cold. The staff were lovely and sat me in the pergola area out front which was enclosed with plastic blinds and had a gas heater. Really toasty inside. The coffee was good and the staff were great.
I saw the ad for a new chef posted 11th April - have to say - whoever was cooking lunch on Tuesday failed dismally and certainly needs to get reinspired!
I am a local, been going to this cafe for many years and always had good food and service there - till Tuesday!
I will say, wait staff were friendly -but the food!
Ordered a Reuben Toastie - it came out plonked stop The seviette, all the fat from the sandwich had soaked into it! No accompanying garnish to distract from the brown, uninspiring sandwich in front of me.
A Reuben is supposed to have Corned Beef - not a tough, fatty piece of brown, tasteless, beef! It should also have Saukraut and pickle, sauce and cheese - all I could see was cheese, oozing everywhere.
Please - lift your game - you have prime location, and a previous good reputation, this will all soon be wasted, word of mouth in this town is Paramount and right now the only word I can say is -DISAPPOINTING!
Great cafe in Albany, great staff. Sometimes abit of a wait but it’s definitely worth it. Very efficient and would love to try more of their menu.
Had a cappuccino here today, one of the best coffees I've had in years! Hats off to the barista:)
Very tasty eggs Benedict, perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and a short wait time on a busy. Coffee not that great though, too hot and overextracted.
The signiture burger an chip was fantastic. I do consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to burger dishes.
Sorry no pictures, before I realised it was excellent it was all gone.
Coffees both luke warm, but staff happy to make us new ones. Muffin was nice and light but fruit only in the top and white choc was just Nestle baking choc bits, so disappointing.other cake quite nice.
Amazing crispy chicken burger with slaw! Loved the hand cut chips too! Delicious freshly squeezed OJ and coffee. Great service too! Will definitely be coming back here! Love Fredericks
One of the best cheeseburgers I have ever tasted. Perfect balance of flavours and the beef was juicy but not greasy and it was all tied together with the pickles. Chips were really good too. Get some extra napkins
Every time I come to Albany (all of two times so far), I head to this place. Great location, great food, and great vibes. They have delicious gluten-free options (try the beetroot and grain salad; the GF brownie is beyond amazing), and the staff are so lovely. They even take the time to remember your name. Will definitely be back.
Our lunch was amazing. The service was great, staff were friendly and it was such a really nice atmosphere to be in. Thank you
Taken a nice leap and with Maissie on the coffee machine, you can expect a damn good cup with a comment to make you sit up and laugh.
