Flat Rate Settlements

Avoid this outfit at all costs. They are not a conveyancing firm, they are a law firm which employs an unqualified admin girl to f%#*k up your settlement. After she got the calculations wrong, delayed my settlement and threatened me with penalty fees, I had to call the banks lawyer myself, and he told me he was still waiting for the land transfer doc from FRS, which I had signed in their city office 2 WEEKS BEFORE! She hadn’t sent it to him so I had to call her and ask her, very nicely, to fax him the form so my settlement could go through in 2 days time. Then she charged me twice for conveyancing.
I had to call one of FRS lawyers Michael Hodgkiss, and complain. He was extremely rude and told me I was wrong.
He then sent me an email admitting I was right, and had actually paid their fee already.
I sent a complaint to the Dept of Consumer Protection, and guess what? Because they are not a registered conveyancing firm, Consumer Protection can’t touch them. I would have to go through the legal professional body, as they still owe me close to $1000 in excess funds which they will not disperse.
If you want to tackle a bunch of lawyers hiding behind admin girls, FRS is for you.
