Dôme Café - Applecross reviews
52 Did not get my order right. Staff hovered around the table like it was an inconvenience for us to be sitting in there. Never going back.
Will be going to C15 across the road instead, where the service and quality of food is much better.
Aggressive service, lack of care and all around terrible food. Save yourself a meal and go to the garden city dome
If I can give them zero stars I would!
Before I was even greeted with a Hello or anything the owner or employee approached me and asked if I had a laptop and that laptops are not allowed in this cafe, I felt unwelcome and when awaiting for my friend to arrive I was told that I was required to make a order.
Avoid this Dome Cafe and maybe try the cafe across the road C-15 the service is terrible!
Don't go here.very rude staff. Questioned if I was buying something as I sat down waiting for a friend before ordering. The owner/manager then continued to lecture me about how people sit down and use the seats with out purchasing. This is so unprofessional and rude. Go across the road to Espresso Applecross!
We have been using the dome Applecross for many years and have never had a problem, very clean good food and the coffee is always great.and the owners are really lovely and friendly people.tables cleaned and sanitized after the previous customers go, very well run
only problem sometimes is that people with laptops sit at a table for 4 and hog that area for their own personal use, suggestion switch wi/fi off and on and they will soon go elsewhere,
I chose to go to Dome Applecross on a Monday public holiday to have a quiet baby-free coffee and read some articles on my laptop and I was asked to leave about halfway through my coffee. Apparently you are not allowed to use your laptop in the cafe on Saturdays and Sundays (it's monday). I am very disappointed, the Dome wifi advertises that you can go on your computer while you have a coffee. I have paid for food and drinks, and havent been here for more than 30 mins and still am not allowed to be on a device larger than my phone. I won't be coming back.
Absolutely HORRIBLE service. The owners are incredibly rude. We were still deciding what to order as owner rudely told us we had to get something or leave. No wonder the place is empty! They just sat over on the corner staring at everyone as well. Poor man was struggling to take his seat and they just watched. Just drive a few minutes up to another dome nearby.not worth going to the applecross one.
Good food, but owners quite arrogant and invasive. Did not feel welcome. Definitely room for improvement in the Customer Service area.
My girlfriend was on her period and they didn’t let us use the toilet. The place was empty and it’s no wonder. The managers’ vibes were awful.

I met a friend here for a catch up and had a very bad response from the manager. She was very rude as we hadn’t ordered anything yet and she dealt with us very poorly. The cafe was empty which was unsurprising given her handling of our situation.
We were planning on ordering from dome but given her attitude it changed the situation dramatically.
The usual food and drink offerings but what makes this place special is the chef. The food is really well cooked and presented.
I had vegetarian big breakfast.
I had poached eggs, baked beans, grilled tomato, mushrooms, spinach, wholemeal toast and a cappuccino.
I couldn't quite finish.
I felt great all day with plenty of energy and didn't feel the need to eat again until 5.00pm.
Do yourself a favour. Have a vegetarian big breakfast once a month.
You will be alert, balanced in your mind and have more get up and go than what you thought.
Rude service and a thinnest serve of ‘blueberry’ ricotta slice I’ve ever had. At least the name was accurate as there was one blueberry in it. One staff member was blocking access to the toilet also. Will not come back here
Careful how you order, I ordered two separate meals and they got them completely mixed up.
Food is good, communication is not.
Always get great food and coffee when we come. Love the poached eggs - they come out perfect every time. Coffee is always good. Service is excellent. We will be back again.
We are frequent Domers and always get a veggie big breakfast with eggs replaced with avocado. The food at this Dome is always fresh, hot and good portions unlike others we have been to.
We always make an effort to come here even though we live 20 mins away because it's the best Dome around.
Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.
Good Dome for vegans!
Was told by a lady with an unhappy attitude that I could “only stay 30 mins if I was on my laptop” on the weekend due to it being “busy”. After the cafe being almost empty I stayed a little longer but was asked to leave none the less. Pretty disappointed and won’t be coming here again.
Just absolutely horrendous given the usual standard of Dome Cafe's. I started coming here once a week and was continuously met with a pretty average attitude from the workers (whoever the lady is). Most recently, I decided to buy a coffee and sit down on my laptop, in a fully empty cafe, but was told by the owner to either leave or move outside since laptops 'are not allowed on weekends'. Won’t be returning and will make an effort to ensure the people of Applecross are aware of the suboptimal quality of this cafe.
The lady, probably the Owner had a sour face and horrible attitude. I went once and will never go back again.
The husband was the opposite, and quite happy and friendly.
I've been to better Dome Cafés. The lady finished emptying a bin and then came and served me without washing her hands. In today's climate that really put me off! Coffee was good, but ANZAC biscuit was stale.
