Dôme Café - Applecross reviews
52 Very weird staff
Look like a couple
no welcoming no smiling
Not busy
And she was doing noise all the time for nothing.no client
The chocolat was out off date
I will never come back
My wife and I are Dome regulars but first timers at this one. The only staff were the two weird owners who look like husband and wife. He’s tall and hovers like a hawk, she looks sullenly in your direction with zero eye contact. I am expecting a divorce soon. He flashes a swanky Rolex as he tried to hurry us along, attempting to take our coffee cups before we had finished. It was 3: 15 and they close at 4; yet he was saying that they were closing up because they had been up since 3 in the morning. They seem to be penny-pinching on staff. The vibe was weird; the owners were weird; and my wife and I will not be going back there again.
I am a fan of eating at Dome, but this particular location has a very weird vibe due to the strange owners running it. Despite this, I have continued to visit on and off. However, today I went in to get a coffee and noticing the order line was long I decided to use the restroom first before ordering. When I returned I was accosted by one of the owners who regularly weirdly sits by the passage to the toilet as if he is guarding access.
He demanded to know if I was going to order something and informed me he was the owner and he had a right to know. I can't say I have experienced this before at any other Dome, won't go back again. The weird thing is I am sure the owners recognise me as I have been a regular customer for quite some time so he would have known I was there to buy something.
Won't visit this one again, better coffee across the road at C15, along with proper service. No one guarding the restroom door either.
Lovely setting by the river, quick service - even with a full cafe on a public holiday, great coffee and fresh large serving of cake.
Walked in there for the first time, ordered avo stack with salmon, got one egg and one thin slice of salmon, looking nothing like the pictures, has to be the worst Dome i have been to
The food is great, but the service leaves something to be desired the wait staffs bedside manner is lacking and I had to wait 45 minutes for a BLT out of peek time which I normally wouldn't mind if you didn't have to pay for parking
Was extremely weird vibes, gave us carboard cups instead of glasses for our drinks even tho we dined in. Servers were rude and blunt, everyone else in there was acting weird felt creeped out thoight we were about to get drugged and brought into a cult. Food was very average
Poor customer service. Coffee was watered down and bitter with no taste. Serious changes need to be made. We won't be back.
Walked in to dome and was stared down by both the manager and barista, felt very uncomfortable and left.
Couldn’t get the order correct after sending it back to the kitchen 3 times. It was a quiet Sunday so no excuses. All 3 meals came out 20 minutes after each other so we had to wait around. Won’t be back here.
Dome cafes are my second home. I'm always at one when I'm out and about. The Applecross is a favourite as its relatively small. I like it's cosy feeling. Their coffees and hot chocolates arr yum and they have a great selection of food and deserts available. Theres enough parking nearby for the number of tables inside. The staff are friendly and always greet you with a smile.
We have been coming here for many months we are cappuccino fans and the coffee rates very highly.we have always had friendly service from efficient staff. Good is good and the lime brulee slice excellent.
Incredibly poor hospitality - we felt like an inconvenience, were asked to leave 20 minutes prior to scheduled close time and told to come earlier next time. There won't be a next time.
This is a disgrace to the DOME brand and doors should be slammed shut immediately for the sake of the group.
Ignorant staff a pot of tea that was like water. When I was asked for not a new pot but just some more tea I was told NO. The staff member checked with the faux barista who said that’s what you get and so I left it. Staff couldn’t care less.
Received 2 meals completely stuffed up. Returned and brought back. Bacon not crispy as asked and not DOME bacon. Sausage had been chopped up and deep fried and tasted burnt, again not a standard DOME sausage just cheap rubbish. Because staff aren’t trained they don’t know to pre poach then grill to order. Hard piece of cold tomato and stale half toasted ciabatta. Oh and let’s not forget the mashed steamed wet hashbrown swimming in a plate of vinegar.
Overall the place is filthy, no music or ambience. Water cooler broken.
This is povo in an affluent suburb.
Stick to Deep Water Point or East Fremantle.
DO NOT COME HERE! Drove 15 minutes to go get a cup of coffee with a friend and from the moment we entered the cafe, the staff were extremely rude and showed no sense of customer service let alone good customer service. Left after ten minutes of being there as the chef/ staff member was constantly staring at us from the kitchen and our food was almost as stale and cold as the customer service provided by the only other staff member, the cashier. Will not be returning to this store and will be forwarding my complaint to head office.
Dome Applecross is such a friendly place. The owners take a personal interest in serving customers. Coffee is good too.
Worst Dome ever. Possibly worst cafe in Perth. 32 degree day, fans barely turning and no air con. Owner / manager said no air con as the doors need to be open. I don’t see these two things as mutually exclusive. Cold water tap out of operation. Service was abrupt, rude, disinterested. Sloppy presentation. Feels like the owner just doesn’t care. A fine example of what not to do in hospitality. Go to one of the nicer, well presented independent cafes with polite staff who are happy to provide actual customer service and a pleasant experience.
Zero service here - no wonder it’s empty. No AC inside on a hot day because they have to leave the door open apparently. The people working here have zero customer service skills. What a poor coffee experience.
Always good coffee. I've been to a lot of speciality coffee shops and they can be good (or bad) but you can never go wrong with a dome cuppa. Owners are always kind and friendly and know my order:)
Would give 0 stars if possible
The owner yelled (not spoke to, actually yelled) at a colleague for not ordering. She said we are never allowed to show our faces in the store again. Trust me, I wasn't inclined to come back anyways.
