CURRY VIRUNDHU

Outside dine in area is nice with trees, lights and music. I have tried the kizhi paratta for first time and I didn't like the taste, May be because of the taste of plantain. The service was not satisfactory, they forgot to serve food to one person with me. We have waited for long and decided to go home. I don't go there anymore.

My one and only go-to restaurant for a proper south indian food. Staffs are super friendly. Atmosphere and food are all top-notch.

Easily I can say it is overpriced. Taste wise it is ok. Raitha doesn’t have curd at all. I really have to say that price is very very high and normal people like me can’t afford it. I can get better food for the price i am paying over here. Reduce the price and increase the quality of the food

Wow.don't expect a posh restaurant with amazing ambience, but the food just makes up for all of that, amazing flavours and excellent service from the team, would definately recommend this place for anyone looking for an authentic South Indian fare, and excellent tea to wash it all down.

Disappointed with the mid week menu

Had mutton something and has little meat and only bones. I could have recommended a better supplier.

The eggs masala was good.

Paratatas were ok.

Might try giving them another go and try the weekend menu.

Looks can be deceiving, curry Virundhu is a unique restaurant that most would judge by the outside appearance. I highly recommend you don’t and try this place out!
As you enter the shop front and make your way through the side access way to the outdoor courtyard, you are greeted with a welcome and vibrant, aromatic atmosphere. There’s music, karaoke and lots happy diners enjoying their meals with family and friends.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Price are very reasonable, and serving size are large. Recommend coming early and ordering quickly, as it does get busy and wait-times can be long and food does run-out with the high demand.
We had family chicken biryani and chicken65 served on traditional banana leaf. More than enough food for 4/6 people and they generously providing free take-away containers.
Food was delicious, fragrant and very flavorful. Not too spicy, though you can request certain dishes to come with medium heat or mild.
I certainly recommend Curry Virundhu good food and great atmosphere

Tried chicken kottu parota and chicken biryani, chicken kottu parota wasn’t spicy but tasted alright. Very disappointed with chicken biryani, as it is not even biryani for us. Please if you are selling your native style biryani, mention it as expectations for biryani vs your restaurant biryani is no where close.

Well it’s certainly an authentic experience. Banana leaf plates, Indian techno music but the flavours are absolutely spot on. Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten anywhere at any price. Balanced, flavourful, just the right amount of spice. Very reasonably priced considering the quality of food.

The chicken curry is a work of art, Smokey, peppery and cuts the parotta bread just right. My whole family loved it and will be back for sure.

I eat here once a week and i see a slow decline in consistency perhaps the word is complacent, let me explain what i mean, I had two parathas and mutton chukka cost was $32 i have no problem paying more but i had to look through the bones and onions to find meat the Parathas just 2 were dry and stiff, (when i paid the bill i said it wasn't good today and there was just 11 people in the restaurant) i walked out hungry and disappointed, i wanted to order more but i know it would take too long so i just left, the week prior i had chicken Biryani and i placed the order with the chef. There was 2 small pieces of chicken so i orderd one fried fish after i seen There wasn't enough chicken. Fried fish arrived after i had finished the Biryani rice. My bill for this was $48, i did not like the fish as it had to many bones and the taste wasn't what i expected a little tasteless and the masala with onions was the same recipe as the Mutton chukka,

Ordered mutton biryani combo which costed 105 dollars and drinks to go with.the mutton biryani combo came with a mutton starter which was tasted Amazing followed by parotta and chicken curry along with mutton biryani and raita. The mutton biryani was too good would definitely recommend people to try their biryani.and the place was pleasant with good music overall.raita was good enough.only disappointing thing was the drinks which we ordered aren't fresh fruit juices.we did expect fresh fruit juices.so that's y a lesser rating.

We went toCurry Virundhu with a couple of friends. This was the first time we have been to a South Indian restaurant in Australia, we have been to restaurants in Tamil Nadu and I must say this was better. The atmosphere and the service were first class. The hero though was the food, it is one of the best South Indian meals I have had. We almost felt that we were back in Tamil Nadu. I would strongly recommend that any lovers of authentic Indian food go to Curry Virundhu to experience what South Indian food should taste like.

Food way above the expectations. The service was quick. The food was delicious. We went with the recommendations and loved it. The popular items were sold but it it is very obvious for the time we visited. Going again with more friends next time.

Went with my family last nite.waited almost 1 hour for our food.no one apologise n no communication regards to our order.the food is expensive n the taste is below average.had idli n my God some of the batter is not cooked properly.the dry fish curry is tasteless.clearly the chefs are not trained properly on south indian cooking.pls get more staff n get ur service work faster.very dissponting.not coming back for sure.

Great location and decent menu. We went there for dinner takeaway @645pm n ended up getting our meals around 830pm…remotely not impressed. Service was good, great communication from the store manager, but the food taste was not great at all for the $$$ we paid. Ultimately they were with short staffed and choose quantity over quality in the occasion. Management should’ve shut the takeaway down instead of pushing patron to wait for hours. Now that is out of the way Will we be back? Only when I see positive sign of recovery of taste to cuisine advertised.

Really good south indian authentic food. Portions are quite generous. Will definitely come back again.

It was very weird to see, when we went there I asked for buttermilk, before they said, it’s there! They will bring it. Later when I asked again. They said they don’t do it on Saturday. Which was quite suspicious, I saw every single tables had buttermilk. I am not sure, why and why they did it. I was quite disappointed to see that. I really loved this place and recommend to many of friends. But after what happened. I am not coming back again.

Please be advised the taste of food has gone to worst. I have had been a customer from initial days, days go on taste has degraded and now to worst. Price don't meet taste, shocking to see a sambar satham in place of chicken biryani horrible! Travelled 20 kms to get sambar satham with longer wait time for take away's.

I am so happy I found another place that serves great comfort food, my own country style cooking. The food is so delicious. The staff are polite and they do their best to make sure you've eaten enough. For what your paying, you would get charged double elsewhere. If you haven't tried, stop thinking about it and go try it. Well done guys.

Expensive meals and not worth that much.can get good portions with half price at any other Indian Restaurants.
