Me and my partner stayed with crown Metropol on the 28th December 2023 as our last getaway before our daughter is born.

I received an email 5 days later to say that we had broken a vanity mirror during our stay (that we had not) and that the invoice would be forwarded to me for payment.

I responded with an email stating the mirror was fine when we departed and that I wish for photos prior to our arrival and after our departure as evidence and if they could investigate how such damages could have occurred post checkout.

A week after the email was received $910.35
was charged to my card. Still to this day no response from crown, no photographs and no invoice for the repairs undertaken.

First of all, When I was told in the email that check in time was 3, we came at 3: 30, our room was not ready. Then lady on the counter asked me I have not paid for my daughter’s mourning meal which I was, after waiting for a quite and showing her the proof, she said yes it is paid already. Then we went to the room, bed was not ready properly, poor bedding not up to the standard of 5 star. I booked for chocolate and wine as well which should be in room before we enter as It was suprise for my husband on his birthday, but for wine and chocolate, I had to call 5 times, it came at 7. First the lady brought only wine and then I told her there were chocolates as well. Which she brought later. Then there was no info book about the timing of breakfast at atrium and other restaurants inside. We booked breakfast at atrium, thinking breakfast would last till 11, we went there at 10: 15. After 15 mins there was no food at all. Then, I asked lady to clean our room, she just put donna back and had some towels, all done. Having 3 people including kid in the room, we only have one body wash. So overall, experience was not up to the mark as I thought. Thanks

Location is good for going to the casino or shows and the nearby stadium. Otherwise it is a taxi ride to other locations in Perth city and surrounds rather than walking distance. The restaurants in the casino complex usually require booking days and weeks ahead so options are often limited to pub food at Merrywell or buffet.
There is no complementary water in the room which I found extraordinary. We had to request face washers daily instead of the several hand towels provided. Rooms were clean however carpet shampooing is overdue. Bed and linen very comfortable.
Coloured floodlights on the outside of the building shine into rooms which is bizarre! Lighting panel by the side of the bed doesn't dim and is extremely annoying in your face when trying to go to sleep. I've stayed a few times for business now but won't chose to again.
Nice view from the room though.

Worst valet parking service I've come across. $65 to have to wait around 15 minutes for your car, then they realised it was parked out front the whole time, unable to find it. Needs serious service improvement.

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER. I don’t know where to start. From the disgustingly dirty overpriced rooms to the lack of service and general mediocrity of the place including bars and restaurants. Money could be better spent elsewhere. I’ve never been so excited to check out if a hotel before.

Not a place to win money gor a car/house, you should only loose what you can afford. Good day outing from the house. Just remember In long term Casino wins, whatever you win, you will loose over time. Nor for poor people.

Best place ever to stay after my birthday dinner at Atrium. The room services was great, food was delicious

Beautiful architecture and ambience, however these are sunk capital costs and 3 star rating is purely based on the perceived relative price of dining here. Quality and service was of course of high standards, so kudos to management for this.

Such a great potential, yet so many people kicked out but yobbos roam inside, nothing like it was in 1984, it had class, pizaz, dress codes, now its a jungle in there. Todd Johnston should run it, he is amazing there.

The view of Perth, the Perth Optus Stadium and the Matagarup Bridge from the Metropol is fantastic.

Stayed for 4 nights at the metropol, sizeable room, don't expect too much in terms of service. Staff tend to check to refill mini bar around 5pm so make sure you have your Do Not Disturb turned on, unless you want visitor in the middle of something. Also, tea don't get refill on a daily either.

Worked in the travel industry for 10 years and I can say this has been the worst hotel experience. From run down rooms, alarms going off in the room at all hours without being fixed, additional charges to our bill, complete ignorance from the duty managers, forgotten drink orders that were still charged, dirty hotel… I could go on and on but all I can say is think again when staying here.

Pool is open to the public during the day and it can became quite disgusting with 100's of people from the public coming in for lunch, low staff, bad service, but there is no alternative to the location and hotel for kids, they should not allow public to pay to enter the pool area

My partner and I stayed at metropol and experienced very little sympathy or help from staff after our car was broken in to. They made us feel like we were a burden. My partners ID wasn’t even returned to him. Checked out a day early. Room was good, food was good. Just expected a bit more sympathy after our car was invaded in their car park.

OK, For our 50th anniversary we booked into the Metropol for a stay on the 5th and 6th of December.
We (and 18 family members) had a delightful breakfast at the Atrium which we finished at 10.30am and I the went to the reception area to book in for myself and my wife
A really surly male gentleman? Receptionist (after I had told him about our anniversary which was met by a more than blank stare) informed me that book in was at 3pm. When I then asked him if we could use that pool area whilst we waited I was informed in a curtly manner that we could not as we were not booked in.
Now the surprise. He then informed me that for an extra $70 we could immediately have a room. I was later informed that the $70 was for an upgraded room which was certainly not mentioned.
We decided to go home and return at 3pm to book in. On arrival we were allocated a room on the 9th floor which was really nice, only to discover that the toilet did not flush
We were offered a new room in the loft area with a king bed. Unfortunately I have a back condition which causes continues spasm in my legs and I would have spent the night kicking my wife out of bed
We were then allocated a room (316) on the 3rd floor close to the lift. The room was beyond disgusting. It still had water on shower floor either from the previous occupant or from the cleaners. It had only one gown, with, if you can believe it, creaking beds, and a disgusting old? Grey carpet.
Being close to the lift and on the 3rd floor it was noisy and as the curtains did not close properly there was a lot of light in the room when trying to sleep.
I had had enough by the next morning and checked out before noon.
Terrible experience, and a waste of money. The only thing that that made up for the day was that it was our 50th anniversary and after 50
years I still love my wife

Got to the hotel a couple of hours before check in and fair enough, room not ready. However.they left us waiting 30mins PAST check in to get a room though and the next day the room card stopped working after midday. Apparently 'my phone wiped the card'. We were denied bringing drinks to our room too. Aside from that and the time it took to sort the room issues, the room itself and the facilities are great.

Rooms are dirty, parking is deceptive. On the website it said parking undercover is free, saying that if you get a ticket and go to check in with it, they validate and it’s free. Then as you drive into the main entrance and go to the car park with the huge sign that says “hotel guests, ” then when you get to check in they tell you that’s “the wrong one” and it’s $25/night. Who else is parking overnight but mostly hotel guests? That’s very deceptive. We had to then get back to the car and tell the guy at the gate through intercom that we parked in the wrong place and luckily we weren’t charged! We then parked about 1 metre down the road where there’s tonnes of free parking, which is where I would have parked in the first place if the website wasn’t so misleading! Just the first of multiple inconveniences. I’ve travelled the world and never have I paid so much for so little! The rooms were dirty and old. Dust on the benches, bed head flaking off from wear and old age, mirrors dirty, floors filthy. After getting over the general dilapidation, you have no time to relax as the rooms are so noisy until after midnight. Being so close to the outside bar area and a thoroughfare from the casinò, there’s no soundproofing. Breakfast at the atrium was entirely our mistake because by now we should have known better about the quality of this place. However, as we were there for a friends wedding event, we met them for breakfast. Coffee was extra and was horrible! I actually can’t believe that in a place like that, they can’t even get a decent barista! Vic park is just across the road with so many lovely cafes. Def recommend doing yourself a favour and heading anywhere else! I could go on, however let’s just end on- if you’re looking to treat yourself then leave the crown well enough alone! Normally $1009/night for the lux king room on a sat! We thankfully got a corporate deal and still at $340/night, was an absolutely huge waste of money.

Your money would be better spent on luxury like the Ritz, which is actually in the heart of the city with access to the best restaurants and bars, not to mention the new and fancy rooms and pool. Rather than in the middle of nowhere with overpriced restaurants and horrible rooms. Crown, what an epic fail!

Fantastic! We paid a bit extra for a city view room and it was well worth the upgrade to watch the sunset. Great view of Optus stadium too. Complimentary bubbles and choccie in arrival for our anniversary was an added bonus - highly recommend!

Extremely disappointed with our stay this time around. The Crown are rinsing the current pandemic situation with people unable to travel so lots of stay-cations instead. But the service has really suffered and the hotel standards have really gone downhill.
Every part of our stay was unfortunately below expectation of a “5 star luxury resort hotel”
Dated and worn room, overlooking a car park, delivery area and roofing for $700/pn. I wish I could post the photos we took.
Everything is an extra cost, even to watch an in room movie @ $18.
Slow, unfriendly service in most areas; smell of stale smoke at the lifts was absolutely gross; not able to book restaurants evening or morning.
Wouldn’t recommend to a friend unfortunately. Do yourself a favour and try somewhere else.
