Cod Rocks reviews
68Very expensive, quality average, serve size is small, this place has really gone downhill since the new management take over, business is for sale this tells you something.
We ordered $12 of chips to be picked up. They were terrible, floury, soggy, undercooked.
We needed to cook them again at our holiday unit just to make them edible.
Oily fish that seeped all the way through the paper wrap and didnt put chicken salt on chip when asked for. Fish was flavourless too.
Not recommended.
This place was recommended to me, so try it i did! $20 for a 1 person fisherman's basket that wasn't great & should have been much better for the price (and the rec) i expected better quality, it was a disappointing surprise for me. See my photo of the "fisherman basket" & make your own decision if you think thats good enough for the price.
They do good fish and chips but don't always get the order correct. Twice now collecting after a phone order, my order has been short. More attention to the orders placed please. If it wasn't for this, I would give 5 stars
Order taken promptly and politely
All food ordered was correct
Food quality was great
Seeing some or reviews was confusing tbh as our experience was excellent
I highly recommend COD ROCKS, BUSSELTON.
We placed an order tonight and only received half of it, tried to ring and they wouldn't pick up the phone despite trying numerous times, during business hours. Message on the answering machine tells you not to leave a message but how are you meant to get in contact with someone when they never answer the phone? Customer service is useless, the part of the order we did receive was oily, wedges were cold and soggy, tye whiting wasn't fresh. The best part of the order was the sour cream and sweet chilli sauce, which is probably because it's the only thing they didn't make. Worst fish and chips ever
Very oily fish, chips were cold and we didnt get the our order. Tried to call them about it and wouldnt even answer the phone
Really good fresh fish and chips, not too greasy like is often the case, and nice salad. Will be back next time in town.
Fairly average fish and chips, everything was very very oily but otherwise fairly typical. Customer service left a lot to be desired, with the girl taking the order hopelessly trying to operate the console with hillariously long nail extensions that she was more interested in admiring on her own fingers than actually taking the order. Someone needs to tell her that they looked terrible, not to mention being incredibly unhygienic.
A dud. Below average at best. Bland stale chips. Most bizarre though was their refusal to take payment prior to the (phone ordered) food being ready (!?)
Yummiest freshest snapper. Devine squid. Chippies were hot but somehow not tasty. We'd go back again soon tho. Thanks
Waited 45 mins for a fisherman's basket (1 piece of fish, 2 crabsticks, 2 squidrings, 2 prawns, and some chips). Batter was mushy
Most disgusting fish and chips I have ever eaten. Batter was soggy, chips floury, oysters very small, very overpriced. Hope business is sold soon.
Unfortunately we went past our usual fish and chip shop at Bayside and tried cod rocks. It was very disappointing, it wasn’t cheap, the chips were soft and oily, the thick oily batter on the shark was virtually inedible, the squid rings were over cooked and chewy. It’s back to Bayside for us.
We enjoyed a delightful fish lunch, accompanied by a CapelVale Riesling.
One of the BEST fish n chip shops in WA!
It wasnt bad but wasnt amazing, unfortunately my fond memorys of cod rocks as a kid werent met this time around.
Greasy fish, chips were just ok and the squid rings tasted like packet bought ones.
They weren't cheap and it was a major disappointment. We bought mayo and tartare sauce, looked and tasted horrible.
Not nice at all.
Meal portions were small. Fish was ok, some dry bits as well. Chips weren't great and no family member ate all their chips. Wouldn't recommend. Wouldn't return
It’s ok
The fish was fresh-“ish” and it was prepared properly. The fries were good as well. Not a bad choice for Busselton
