Very disappointing! Most famous fish n chips in Perth? Not any more! $13, small piece of hoki small chips. At my Home at Rockingham foreshore, same price, 2 big pieces of good quality fish and twice the chips and Cicerellos chips were cold!

Cicerello’s Fremantle their service has gone down hill a lot, there are no menus on the tables & the place looks very tired & dirty.
The lady at the counter didn’t seem to know what she was doing & even the person trying help her wasn’t any better either. I won’t be going back there again.
It’s not what it’s use to be. Very disappointing.
Coffee was ok.

My how cicerello' a has changed had oil fish and chips two years ago and the same again today will be the last time, paying a premium price for oil that is best suited in engines.

I'm astounded at the rave reviews for this place. While it wasn't horrible I'm hard pressed to even say it was average. Fish was oily and tasteless, prawns, squid and chips were ok. Blown away that the sign says WA's No 1 fish n chips because it clearly isn't. Premium price for less than pub standard. Can only assume we came here on a bad day.

I got fish and chips on the 10th Jan and the chips where over cooked the prawns where over cooked the fish was like it took a bath in oil.
And I've been coming to Cicerello's for 30 + years when it was the shack and never had fish and chips like that before.

Thanks

Poor quality fish 5 star price the oysters where not fresh and poor quality this shop is catering for walk in tourist no efforts to make the food quality better no improvement because of larger volume of constant costumer walking in you just a number: (
Disappointed
Everything looked old out dated aged and dirty needs fresh management and improvement quality not quantity

We've been going here on and off for decades. Never been the best or the most amazing but they consistently serve pretty alright food, more than worth the usual Perth prices.
We had a last minute change of plans so decided to have dinner out on NYE 2021 tonight. The only place we could find any availability at was Cicerello's. Understandably almost everywhere was booked out.
And we were so glad we ended up there. We were absolutely blown away. It was packed and people were still ordering well beyond their closing time when we left.
You'd have thought it being NYE and so busy, the food quality would be subpar. But no! The very opposite occurred. We were beyond delighted with our dishes. The flavours were perfect! I'm not sure if it's under new management or new chefs or a particular chef on duty last night, but I really wanted to highly praise the food.
Hubby got battered whiting and chips, while I had the $50 seafood platter. Although they were flat out, the staff were always friendly and smiling. Even when I was being difficult and asking for tobasco sauce and to have a fresh oyster, instead of kilpatrick it had come out with, they provided me lots of sauce and just gave a new oyster, all with a genuine smile. What a lovely restaurant!
Now on to the actual food. The little raw oysters were full of the taste of the sea; the grilled barramundi excellent (and I usually hate grilled fish due to blandness and texture) ; calamari perfectly crispy; battered snapper good (I usually don't enjoy snapper) ; garlic prawns perfecto; chilli mussels soft and its marinara sauce so beyond sublime, I couldn't resist, with no shame, drinking it down; the chips weren't bad so I could not help but consume them whole with my generously provided tobasco sauce. The only negative I will give honestly is how the lobster was a bit tough. Overcooked maybe? It was still delicious with the garlic on it regardless.:)
Ahhhh. We were so happy.: D Also decided to be naughty by having some black forest cake & gelato. Pretty darn yum. What an amazing last meal of 2021. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience! We'll be back for certain.
Happy new year!
Extra notes: The exterior was decked out in the brightest Christmas lights I've seen. Love it! And of course my little one adored the fish tanks.

Unfortunately the calamari/Fish and chips tasted like it was cooked in very old oil, it was horrible! Very over priced also!

It had been a long time, so the three of us went for lunch, forgetting it is basically a tourist place. What a mistake. We all went for the crumbed whiting, with chips and coleslaw. They said it was their finest. When it came I thought it was a mistake. They looked like prawns, I wish. Double crumbed because it's all about quantity not quality. Sliced so thin, you'd think it prosciutto. With two beers and a coke, $105.oo.the chips were not nice, two day old coleslaw. NEVER AGAIN.

Tried many flavours here throughout the years. Amazing to see their flavours only getting better. Waiting time is worth it if food tastes good. Their peri peri pizza was surprisingly good too! Not to miss seafood platter! Fish always fresh and crispy! Definitely a go to for people who are visiting Perth from other states! Family friendly environment, with fish tanks to explore.

The most expensive worst meal I have had in the whole of Fremantle, the fish was so thin, if it didn't have bread crumbs on it, would have been like eating paper, tasted about the same, fish with no taste, purchased from one of the oldest fish and chip shop in Fremantle. Save your money people do not eat here.

Paid for Premium Snapper and was very disappointed! Fish was overcooked and like chewing on a piece of rubber! Absolutely disgusting! I certainly won’t be returning for that rubbish again!

Excellent fish and chips at a very good price. Polite and friendly service, our orders came out fast too. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good fish and chips option in Fremantle. We sat outside but the seagulls weren't a problem at all, had a couple hang around but they didn't approach our table.

Tried the new small portion mussels on the menu. After deshelling them there were 12 mussels with a spoonful of sauce. I asked the manager if this was the correct quantity, he counted and asked me how many had I already eaten. There were 10 in the plate as I had tasted two. He said it was based on weight not amount (there were half a dozen unopened shells). He then begrudgingly said he would get the chef too cook me up some more and bring them out. This was done with no added sauce. And to add to this the existing sauce was so salty it could not be eaten. Very disappointing experience as I am a frequent patron, having the mussels. Needless to say that is one off my go to list.

It used to be a family classic - tonight was an awful experience. We went to order and were told that they could not offer grilled snapper. They said that they could not offer any grilled fish as they had “run out”. We asked if we could swap a coleslaw salad for a garden salad and were told that you could only swap out for a garden salad in the grilled fish menu which they did not offer us. So we changed our orders to suit the offering of the night before we had sat down to wait for our food after paying over $250 for our family meal. We were then told that they had run out of beer battered fish. We had to again change our order. When our meals were finally ready to be collected a different staff member stated that they had actually changed the menu and that they no longer offered grilled fish, despite it being on the menu. This raises the question: where does the fish actually come from if they can’t offer grilled or beer battered fish? It definitely isn’t fresh…

Honestly would not bother returning here, clearly not what it used to be. It’s not worth the money or the bother.

Very underwhelming fish and chips……the batter on the fish was heavy and oily. The fish itself was quite juicy and a reasonable portion. At just under $19 for the basic fish and chips…. No salad or anything else…. I was disappointed. My husband picked the batter off his calamari as it was just too dense…. I wondered if it was prepared fresh on site or taken from a frozen bag. It looked just too uniform for anything hand made.
Nice outlook by the water.

What a nice place to eat. You have to order and get the food yourself inside, but that makes it so special. You see what you get and how it is prepared. Really nice place and best food! Best view and really relaxing atmosphere.
