Chalkys Espresso Bar

More people are discovering the great food, service and atmosphere of Chalkys. Had to wait for an outside table this morning, not surprising now that the weather is perfect. Dog friendly as well. Few new staff since last visit.

Lovely meal and very friendly staff. Coffee was really nice, and meal sizes were filling. We had the apple crumble porridge and the chilli scramble with bacon.

Honestly one of the best breakfast places I’ve been to in a while. Really simple concept, amazing staff, one lady in particular Danny was really friendly, helpful and just made the whole morning really enjoyable, you can tell she cares about the place. Food was really flavoursome and fresh.

Loved the breakfast and my decaf latte was perfect service was great busy little place worth the visit hope to pop in again

The food was great, we both ordered the double smash and it was to die for. Beautiful light meal to start our day.

I was there last week with my family and while the atmosphere was pleasant, it took what felt like forever to get served because we had to wait for the girls at the coffee machine to finish their story. This made me feel terrible like I was invisible to them, they could have just acknowledged me quickly if they were too busy to serve me straight away, I understand if I can’t get served straight away but it doesn’t take much to simply acknowledge a person. I received no acknowledgment until they had finished their conversation amongst themselves. The coffee was a bit sour for my taste. I feel for the owners having staff who put themselves in such priority over their customers!

Great cafe. Fantastic breakfast with lovely staff. Busy cafe and worth the wait for breakfast. More dairy free options would be great but the food is amazing

The place is always super busy on weekend but I finally manage to pop during the week.
Coffee was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful. We had pancakes and double smash avo + poached eggs. It was literally TERRIFIC! We had to wait the food for a bit but it worths it.
I can t wait to come back and try the whole menu.

This was our first visit after googling and reading reviews on our way into Freo one Saturday morning.
LOVE this place! Food was SO good! I got the Bangin’ Bacon Sanga and it’s sure was bangin’! With flavour lols, loved it!
Reasonably priced, lovely friendly staff, great coffee.

I can never get a table here, which sux!
Not your fault though, maybe some more seating or a different set up.

I went to try this cafe because it was rated highly, but after walking in, my coffee I ordered came quickly whixh was good, but then that was it, no one came to took my order for 20 minutes. They served other people but kept walking past me. It's annoying when my time is wasted.

Chalkys was good, but not great. The meal I had was good, but the others were average. The atmosphere was good, but it was more expensive than I anticipated. Seemed like it was trying to appeal to the more 'hip' crowd.
I had the poached eggs dish; quite colourful and tasty.
The child size portion of the pancakes was large and unfortunately too sweet.

I really enjoy having brunch at Chalkys. The range of meals to select is vast and the coffees are delicious.

Every time in Perth/Freo I will come here for the double smash! Absolutely.hands down.the best! To not get this breakfast would be the biggest mistake of your life.

Always great coffee and delicious breakfast options. Great location near the round house and plenty of parking. Have never left disappointed.

Wholesome tasty breaky. Great service and the best location. Opposite our oldest building in Freo built in 1829. We ordered the corn fritters which were cooked to perfection.

Have been coming here for over a year for the brocciflower cheese alone! You won't find a meal like this anywhere else and the customer service is always 100!

Lovely atmosphere and great staff. Stopped in for Saturday breakfast and had the cheesy brocci-flower as recommended on the staff-pick board: it was great! Meals are a good size.
