Canteen Pizza reviews
64Came here with my husband for the fresh oyster by Jerry Fraser today. We got 2 dozens because it was so good. So they have special price (Half price) for Pinot Noir today. With the price, it's so worth It. Oysters as usual are yummy and fresh. And we ordered 2 Buffala pizza. They were molto buona and light. We will come again next time to chill for sunset. Best time is to come by 6pm, when it's not too busy, so you'll get your food quicker. Overall, we love It. Service was good too. Except, it will be better if the the lady could tell us, ''Sorry, we are fully booked, I may not be able to change your table, '' instead of ''No we are fully booked'' yes, we booked In too to dine here. Lol. There's always a way to talk to your customer, you never know who are you dealing with. Please don't look down on people. Grazie
Talked a good game but the worst pizza we have ever had, $67 for two pizzas that had only some of the ingredients we asked for and ingredients we didn't ask for, should have gone to Dominoes as it would have been better than this rubbish.
We had a terrible experience the first time we went. Overpriced soggy unseasoned pizzas. Almost a year after we decided to give them another go and went again. We waited for our order for 30 minutes and then arrives the worst pizza we have ever had. Save your money and order from dominos. Very frustrating to pay $28 for a pizza that sucked so hard we literally had one slice and left. To Canteen staff- this is our hard earned money guys. Please show some respect.
Great vibe and wine selection with fantastic service on the night. The pizza was terrific but to me the antipasti with fish and pork options were outstanding. Vitello tonnato is an Italian classic and was on point. To see porchetta being served two ways was exciting to see not only on menu but in Perth and the simple ness of the whole rainbow trout cooked to perfection was hands down the winner and terrific value. These guys know there stuff and stick to there traditions. Brilliant!
Amazing and consistent pizza and very special pork dishes. Love the Brussels sprouts! The location is terrific for a comfortable weekend lunch.
Could be so good - but.
We came here (Mid July 2019) because I thought the owners would have Italian, and Pizza down pat because of their links to Il Lido, which is great. I've thought about this review for a bit, because the place could be SO cookin'. But it ain't. And, it ain't cheap. Basically we paid $100 for 2 pizzas, 2 beers, a side and a dessert. (The side was the stand out for the night.)
The pizza crusts were fully "Leopard" and tasty, which is great but they were not so flavourful as to make up for the shortcomings. We had 2 pizzas: a Quattro Staggioni - which is a favourite style of mine and a Margherita with anchovies.
The crusts were good, but the middle was under cooked on both, and the Staggioni was over laden with fillings - with tinned artichokes - I think that's a real let down and shows no effort from the chef, because they have no flavour in them. At least give us marinated artichokes. Plus, the ham didn't make enough taste to make up for that.
The Margherita was no where near what one could get at L'Antica in south Freo in days gone by.
BTW, the "side" was Asparagus with bacon. That was great.
The dessert was Tiramisu. The serving was large enough for 2, but was made with a sponge cake rather than with "Lady fingers". It was good enough, but not knock out.
So, my real point is that while it was not bad, and the location is great if you can still see the ocean at night, it was expensive for fairly average food. Service was not remarkable either.
Let's hope that it's cookin' by Summer.
I did not like my pizza and the staff was not helpful or welcoming. Way too expensive of a place when I couldn't even swallow what I was eating.
When you send your money for the food, especially it's expensive, you must feel really good and comfortable, but this restaurant was not really that kind of it. The waitress wasn't really polite, the food was burn, and the chairs are not comfortable as well. If you try to go there, just read this and think one more time.
Pizza is AMAZING! Good products good the dough of the pizza and perfectly cooked.we order 1 funghi and 1 parmigiana.and in the end we order a third one.highly recommended!
We had our son and daughter in-laws wedding party at Canteen Pizza I highly recommend this place! Great service! Great delicious food! Fairly priced! Plenty of parking was available! Love this place thankyou to all the staff for helping us to celebrate a wonderful day!
Love the concept of a Pizza and wine but needs to be a lot better to compete with other Pizza establishments that are doing it a lot better.
Pizza base has no structure very soggy and stodgy needs work.
Porchetta was very tough seemed like it needed more cooking to make it melt in your mouth. The staff or seem to need training on smiling they all seem angry and not welcoming. I really wanted to like this place but I think it just needs to address these few problems.
We had a very traditional Italian pizzas here. You won't feel bloated after this and the flavor combinations are to die for!
Went there late lunch, service was good friendly, ordered a margarita pizza, came out wood fired, nice and simple, just the right amount of burn. Yeah, sat outside, great big blue skies, com'on, what's there not to like about a beautiful day in cottesloe, eating wood fired pizza just on the other side of the coast road. Finish pizza, walk across the road and look at the Indian ocean. Wouldn't be dead for quids. (old ozzie saying)
Casual, Fresh & Value w Ocean Views! Open for lunch through to dinner most days with woodfired pizza and other scrumptious menu options. Ocean views with inside or alfresco dinning, without the Cottesloe prices. Dress casual or smart, you decide. Non-smoking, but the double espresso is authentically delightful, especially accompanied with a fresh ricotta Canoli, or two, or. Great staff too, with Keira, Shaun and the bunch. Keep up the great work guys.
Loved finding this place! It was crazy busy and the atmosphere was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely time.
Best pizza I had in my life. My partner and I are hooked to their Margherita and Bufala Margherita. We're going once a week for lunch as it's more quiet.
Nice location, very different menu and drink list. It is nice to try some things out of your usual palette range. Cottesloe was so busy with Sculptures by the Sea it was difficult to get a table anywhere else and Canteen was very busy also. Delicious pizza made in wood fires oven with good whole ingredients where you can taste the freshness!
Was a lovely place to grab some food with great location that comes with nice view, beautiful interior design, lively atmosphere and tasty food. But it was a shame for all of us suffering from sunlight, which came into the whole dining hall directly. If you have a sensitive skin, be careful when to make your visit.
Great authentic tasting pizza, nice ambience and great location by the beach. Good for a relaxing lunch.
Sat out side for very enjoyable meal.inside too noisy though, hard surfaces, music too loud.
Great pizza. Superb service. Great drinks.
Recommended for light dinner.
