Backbeach Cafe & Restaurant

During a business trip popped in for lunch with a colleague.we both went steak is the way to go so went the surf and turf.
She went porterhouse (same)
They were like leather.she sat there and chewed like hell.mine I didn't bother.waitress came over and saw a whole steak with one cut in it and asked how was it.inedible I said. She did nothing.was also charged $10.00 for a lemon lime and bitters. WOW couldn't believe they just shrugged their shoulders.great view but $90 for two shoes and 2 soft drinks
Don't like leaving bad reviews hope the owners address this so I can remove

Cannot rate food or service as both a friend and my self walked in then out. Very unfriendly welcome. Being by the beach in the middle of winter you would think you would come into a warming atmosphere instead of the south pole! Needed to rate in order to post one star is way too much

Service was absolutely horrendous. So rude. We ordered coffee and that was the worst we’ve ever had. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone!

Ordered for $30 a glass of soft drink and a wagyu burger with no oignons.
Turned up a beautiful big burger with nice fries, but it had oignons in it and the beef had a taste of old oil, which made the burger not eatable. I've eated a bit, and couldn't force myself more so I've sent it away, and nothing came back from the kitchen.
Not even been offered a coffe as an apology.

The person serving at the counter has no people skills. He talked down at me because I made the mistake of ordering a take away coffee from the restaurant counter instead of the outside takeaway window. The coffee was over priced almost $8 for an almond late, and it was not even a barista quality coffee. I think the staff/owner take customers for granted because of the great location of the cafe.
In other instances I had a meal and found the food to be greasy and overpriced for the quality that was served. Limited menu options.

Lovely food but terrible service, worker who served us made it out as if our order was so much effort because we were ordering 15 minutes before the kitchen closed, our food then came out in take away boxes (this question was never asked to us and we ordered inside) and we sat down to eat (while other people are eating still) and he came over and shut our takeaway boxes and said take away only while holding his hand on my shoulder.didn't even want to stay to eat after this happened.

Service was slow. Staff rude. Manger was rude. Wont be hurring back. Plus dirty drinking glasses. Nice place but need to improve there customer service. Was not impressed.

Great location and service is friendly! Unfortunately the food was way overpriced for what we received and items were missing from the big breakfast. There was no chorizo or mushrooms and one slice of toast. The banana bread was $10 for one slice. $15 granola bowl barely enough to feed a bird. It seems they are not listening to the reviews received.

The view and location is incredible, unfortunately the pear muffin was dry and the coffee was terribly burnt, worst coffee I've had in recent memory.

Really disappointed as it's a lovely place to sit.

Unfortunate. The place has a lot of potential but poor service can really make for an unpleasant experience. Food was ok.

Had the chicken parmigiana, it was a very thin piece of chicken with a thick layer of batter, mine was dry and over cooked

A great venue to sit and watch the ocean, the view is spectacular. Unfortunately there was a particular board (backbeach board) that really let it down. Poorly curated and slapped together with your general supermarket condiments. I feel there was more lettuce than anything else. The scallops were cooked well but the thicker chunks of bacon, though a good flavour, take away from the dish. It should be crispy for texture, this is why pancetta works very well. The arancini was exceptional.

Place needs a deep clean and learn about flies on uncovered food that is on display. Staff need once smiled chips where nice but the rest poor at best

One of the waitresses was absolutely amazing. Understandably the place is short staffed, but I didn't even get an acknowledgement from 3 different staff to start with (I could even have been told they would be a few minutes or something?) whereas this young girl made everything seem like it was no bother, friendly, welcoming and absolutely amazing.

Lovely spot to watch the ocean and have a lovely coffee. Would have been awesome if they'd remembered to make our breakfast

I have frequented the cafe on numerous occasions and had brilliant experiences untill today.
The person who served me literally said "What" when I went to order. He had no customer service skills and no communication skills. I ordered my coffee and waited 15 minutes before asking if their was a hold up or something with my order. The staff member then took my till receipt of the register and took it inside, I'm unsure if he had given it the coffee barista at all until that stage. I went inside and asked another staff member if their was a hold up on coffees, with her explaining their had been a bit of a wait but they would be coming through now. I walked back outside to wait when the coffee barista yelled the lady that wanted the soy where is she, I walked up to the windows and he showed me his milk jug with almost no milk in, he said I have no soy left, you can have almond or something else, I said no thank you I can't drink almond with that he promptly said give her her money back and he walked off. I have never felt so disrespected before and it will be a long time before I attend the Cafe again

The views are to die for. Absolutely stunning beach. The cafe itself is grubby. Chair cushions are stacked on a shelf (self help) and in need of a wash. Food was ok but overpriced at $20 for a burger.

Beautiful spot to sit by the ocean in Bunbury. Ordered seafood platters, bottle of wine and scallops. The scallops were very well cooked & flavoursome. The seafood platter was a tad overpriced for what you actually get, the fish was over battered and the plate was filled with chips to make it look bigger than it was. Wine available, especially for the region, wasn’t great & could be room for improvement there. Overall not a bad visit

The view was spectacular and the food was good. The staff were friendly but there were just not enough and I found it difficult to get service.
The worst part about the venue is the children ‘s meals. They were tiny. Even my five year old was hungry after her meal.

Service is not up to scratch on arrival. Left waiting on arrival
till we made quiry of person working in another area.the place was not busy
