Assured Waterside Apartments

This was honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had with any accommodation provider. My husband and I checked in and checked out within the hour, due to the filthy rooms at Lodestar Waterside Apartments.

To go back to the beginning, things started off well, the check in was easy and staff seemed friendly.

Unfortunately, upon checking into our room, we noticed that the floors hadn’t been vacuumed and there was a disturbing amount of black mould in the shower. Then we noticed the filthy cookware, microwave with other people's food splattered all over it, and the disgusting smell from the bin (which was empty but caked with mould on the inside of the lid). We notified staff who mentioned there was no housekeeping available until the next day. The options we were given were to move to the only other available room or told "if it's not up to your standard then you can go elsewhere".

We looked at the other room and to our surprise and horror, this room was also unvacuumed, and in the same dirty condition as the other. The clumps of someone else's hair on the floor and the uncleaned bin were a real lowlight. We decided to check out immediately and booked alternative accommodation.

I would rate this place 0/5 if possible, I've never seen such unhygienic accommodation, and the staff didn't really seem to care or apologise. I honestly think the shower must have gone weeks or months without cleaning for that amount of mould to accumulate (refer attached pictures). I have read other reviews for the property where the owner has actually commented that they don't do servicing on the weekend to keep costs down - unsure where the savings are when the average rate on the website is currently $220 a night. Besides, any 'savings' aren't worth the health hazard you'll need to endure. The comment made was in regard to on-going stays, however it is apparent they don’t clean the rooms for new guests either, they just make up the beds and fold some towels. My advice is to run, don't walk, to any other available accommodation!

We came in late around 9pm and the check in was seamless.the room was big enough for our party of 5, but it seems a little old so not for fussy vacationers, for us it was perfect, there is a kitchen, and washing machine right in the room.

Felt more like a 2 star motel considering how dirty the room was.room also came with pre-stained furniture.couldn't even shower, since the shower head piping wasn't tightened to the wall, so it would swing under pressure.don't waste your money like I did

Messaged them would be check in early and what time. When I was checking in, someone told me check in time at 2pm, I said that who messaged them checker in early before, if couldn’t do it could had messaged me. Then someone did not say anything let me check in. So odd.
But everything was fine, good location, free parking, electric stove, fridge, washing machine, oven, kettle, toaster, balcony.
Actually we were staying there happy. If get a good price again would be stay there again.

Can I get over the price for this place? So cheap for the full kitchen great service after hours check in good Wi-Fi big rooms

Apartment was great near to amneities and shopung had washing machine dryer toaster coffee tea the only problem eas housekeeping i stayed there one week once was done once ask to clean again they just put 2 nee towels in kitchen while old ones were on the floor no one camee to do hsekeeping inform them of the trash outside my room 2 times no one bothered to clean full of mosquitoee i expext at aleast partial refund bec hsekeeping and hygiene was not satisfied other than that all ok

Was a little afraid of the room condition as the recent reviews of the apartments hotel weren't that great. Booked a two room apartment and the stay was nice. Fuss free checking in and out. Parking was free within the premises, just need to find lots without the "reserved" mark. The kitchen was fully equipped for us to cook our meals. Cleanliness wise I think they could do better as there were hairs on the toilet floor when we checked in and some molds at the corner of the walls.

Unfortunately the unit was not in the condition I expected even do the complex it is good, excellent location, beautiful area

Absolutely terrible place! Unprofessional, rude and pathetic staff. Would not recommend anybody to stay there. Waste of money!
I travel a lot because of my work and I booked this place for a month on my return from the UK. I stayed there with my wife and our 16 months baby. The hygiene status was horrendous. The housekeeping staff were terrible, clearly were not happy with their job and literally threw the vacuum machine on the floor when we asked to vacuum the carpet as they had offered to do so once a week. The windows in the toilet had to remain closed due to rain coming through. The exhaust was poor and hence saw the built up of mould. On bringing this to the attention of the housekeeping staff, rather than cleaning it, the manager replied that housekeeping staff were unable to do their job properly as they do not feel safe because of us being present in the apartment! Really? It was disgusting. We left the apartment the same day. Our worst experience! The worst place we have ever stayed in!

Not bad, had some trouble with the room however the friendly staff quickly responded to my email and we resolved the situation. Good location.

The hygiene of the place is horrendous. I left the place after checking-in for 15mins and have to book a hotel to stay for the night.

Great place to stay, close to the ferry, city centre, zoo and other vicinities. The room was better than what we expected- spacious, clean and lots of room for kids. Will stay again.

Sofa bed was mangled and was told cost extra, i said well shouldnt b in that condition anyways.then batteries in remote had leaked and all powdery so tv didnt wrk, then had to climb three flights stairs with luggage and kids.state of inside of accomadation was like been in the bronx.paid 100$ deposit wen checked in then we left nxt day they said would take few days to get money bak.poor experience and never again will i come here

Despite what the reviews say, it was quite good, room was clean and smelt ok, Toilet was clean apart from a bit of mold in the bathroom, it was noisy, but nothing you can't handle. Not enough toilet paper and hard to get a hold of it from reception. Apart from that, reception and staff was nice. Would stay again.

Well there was nothing 4 star about our room. The door looked like it had been kicked in, cracked, the door edge was split, didn't feel very secure. The slider was open when wr arrived and took brute force to close and lock the door. The walls were paint chipped and grubby. The carpet dirty and stained. The air con questionable. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean and modern. Would I recommend a stay here, no. Very disappointing

A very underwhelming stay at Lodestar. The smell of the apartment was old and unclean from the first step in the door, to then find dirty laundry both at the back of the aircon vent outside on the balcony and a scrunched up ball of a spare blanket in the bedroom cupboard with a stained doona. We had NO hot water whatsoever during our 2 night stay, meaning we could not shower at all for 2 days or comfortably bath my baby. To top things off, upon tidying up my things for checkout, I found a USED RAT covid test in the room underneath the TV cabinet. Absolutely appalling. Thank goodness it was a negative result. No staff on site at 9am for checkout when they advertise a 8-4 reception. No one answered my phone call either. Gave up leaving a message.
The only positives from this property is the spacious apartment, that it had a balcony for fresh air and the location was convenient.
Do not stay here unless you can not afford anything else

Unbelievable, we have stayed before and is ok, they are doing renos and no indication about completely stuffed up vehicle access. Then we have to actually duck under safety tape to get to our room.

I made a mistake and booked the wrong day. The hotel wouldn't change the date. I was going to add another 2 nights on but will look for somewhere else now. Their loss.

~ maintained our stay in the same room after booking extensions (don't take this for granted: it wasn't the case experienced from another national resort chain even after they'd agreed to do so)
~ reacted to free up & put a reserving block in place when our assigned parking space had been wrongly occupied
~ adapted to our contactless demands multiple times (we got under-vaccinated person)

~ adjacent to lakeside
~ next to Mitchell Highway
* Great value given modest pricing:
~ cook-top kitchen + separate bedroom + full size fridge + in-room washing & drying machines + individual outdoor space + marked parking space (see above)

Do not go off the photos on their website cause it's not the same. There was renovations happening around the apartments so abit chaotic. Parking is tight for big cars. Kitchen utensils and oven was dirty. Furniture outdated. Whole place needs a touch up. On a positive note. Lots of space in the 1 bedroom apartments. Check-in and out was easy.
