What a lovely Retreat, so peaceful and quiet, a hidden gem. I would definitely recommend Amaroo Retreat Spa to anyone wanting to rest, relax and recharge. My room, the food at the onsite restaurant and service from all staff was definitely 5 star. Spa aromatherapy treatment was amazing. Thank you to the beautiful staff for making my 2 night stay so special.

Amaroo is the most amazing, most relaxing place anyone can find in Perth. This visit was the 2nd visit and even more special than the first.this was an elopement wedding. Firstly a huge thank you to all the staff at Amaroo. Many many thanks to the manager for her truly amazing work to help us and work with us to get the most perfect wedding we could have asked for. She was with us every step of the way and went above and beyond so we can't thank her enough for her hard work. Thank you to owners for allowing us to take photos with their Rolls Royce, it was such a highlight and so kind to allow for this opportunity. Thank you to the 4 spa therapists whos professionalism and skills made for a magnificently relaxing experiences. Having the Bar and Restaurant on-site enables easy access to delicious and high quality food and drinks. Finally thanks for all the other staff who we interacted with or who were involved during the wedding, thank you.

The service and place it self was absolutely amazing and we will be recommending amaroo to everyone, using gift cards from amaroo as gifts for people and returning back ourselves at a later date.

The only constructive feedback I’d have would maybe supply some soap for the spas in case people want to add bubbles to their spa.

But the only downside was us having to leave.

An amazing place and if you’re thinking of going here, do it, you won’t regret it

Such a mixed review, Amaroo is a 5 star retreat, the rooms and retreat are to a very high standard. The room was amazing, lovely and private, the outdoor tub is such a good idea. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was not wheelchair friendly but I am not such about the others.

As I say mixed reviews, the retreat is a 5 star retreat with a 5 star price, however the service I would put at 1-2 star with the exception of the restaurant and Spa which I would have a 3 star.

The restaurant was good and caters well for vegans, however simple things like table cloths where a let down, I don't know many 5 star restaurants with paper table clothes. The spa was nice, not the best but we had a great massage and the staff where super friendly.

Ok the bad bits, the service was terrible, 1 star at best, advised at checking to phone in regards room service for food on the Friday night, we called a number of times over an hour period without any luck having our call answered. On the Saturday we called again at breakfast to check if the restaurant (covid times) was open, again not answer. After our spa on Saturday we asked to confirm our reservation for dinner, we sat in reception for 15 minuets, the spa team member advised reception will call us to confirm our booking, guess what no phone call.

As this was to celebrate our anniversary we felt very much let down.

9th July - I wanted to provide further update, I sent this feedback to the Retreat to be open and honest and asked for feedback, I had zero response form the team except for a follow-up email asking for feedback, clearly they don't read their emails.

Great hidden gem. Menu offers 2 or 3 course options that were very well priced at around $75 per person. Food was great and portions just scraped in as acceptable sizes. Great atmosphere, modern and clean. Recommend

We didn’t stay, just went to the restaurant as we live in the area. Service was great, food and cocktails very average for what you pay. Not worth it. Such a shame, it’s a gorgeous location.

We booked a 2 night stay for our anniversary and were really impressed! We were given a glass of bubbles on arrival. The room was beautiful and clean with a view of the bush and very private. We had dinner at the restaurant both nights and the food was amazing! The Beez Neez cocktail is by far the best I've ever had.please send me the recipe! I had an aromatherapy massage with Hayley which was the perfect way to relax. The service from every single team member on site was friendly and professional. Thank you!

We were really excited to try this place out. Unfortunately, the service was among the worst I have ever experienced. Left me and my fiancée feeling completely let down and quite frankly ripped off.

My husband and I had a two night stay at Amaroo and had such a lovely experience. All the staff (reception, restaurant and day spa alike) were all friendly and professional. The retreat has a vibe that you are down-south minus the long drive. The rooms are modern, clean and secluded from the other travellers with peaceful views of the bush. Would highly recommend a staycation or just a trip to the day spa. Thank you!

My partner and I love to attend Amaroo retreats spa. The spa therapist’s are always extremely professional and amazing at what they do. Monica and Elizabeth are incredible and highly skilled. We will be repeat guests.

What a perfect adult only getaway. Secluded luxury in forest surrounds. Spa bath under the night sky and the only noises are the wildlife. Staff are lovely and welcoming. Will be back for sure

The architecture was gorgeous. Very bali-esque but with a lovely bush view. However, I was disappointed that they used an Aboriginal name in a tokenistic way (is there any reciprocity here? !), without acknowledging the Country or culture. We asked them about it and they were dismissive. Asked to speak to the manager and never heard back. Aside from that important issue, I have to say that the beds were the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in. Especially at a luxury villa, that was disappointing.

In regards to the reply below.a couple of hours researching the history of the local area is not sufficient to claim an Aboriginal name. Your explanation is in itself dismissive of the fact that the word Amaroo is of Aboriginal origin (do you even know what dialect it is?). A little bit of research into the legality of naming will demonstrate this, and show that rather than being a demonstration of respect of Aboriginal history and significance of land, the name actually demonstrates a LACK of respect. The owners would have also realised this if they had've consulted local Wadjuk Elders to request permission to use the name or bless the space. The name is misleading because it suggests an association with an approval by Wadjuk Noongar peoples that does not exist.

I suggest you read the IP Australia 2018 Indigenous Knowledges discussion paper. "Businesses need to make themselves aware of the origins of cultural materials they seek to appropriate and consider if they are authorised to acquire and use those materials. Failure to give due consideration to cultural materials may invoke significant public backlash. "

Relaxing weekend away, the serenity of the outlook was amazing & the well designed luxury challet was big enough for the 2 of us to be together or do our own thing.
The outdoor spa was awesome too.
The restaurant food & service were both top notch and the staff could not do enough for you and were all very pleasant. I highly recommend Amaroo to anyone wanting to escape the city life or just to relax and unwind. We will definitely be back.
If you are there on a day the restaurant is closed. The BBQ pack is well worth the money!

The location was stunning and restaurant staff were absolutely delightful.

Shame that our chalet didn’t have a working door lock, which was a known issue before we got there but no one seemed too bothered about it when we mentioned it. For $385/night we expect to be able to lock our door during the day while out.

As mentioned the restaurant staff were incredible, exceptional service. It was pretty rude when on a Saturday night at 7pm (presumably peak time for the week) the owner came by and started pointing out to staff all the things that needed improving, clearly unsettling them while they’re trying to do their jobs. A better time would be to turn up earlier in the day before peak service time, and hold a staff meeting. He then went on to invite his staff for drinks, blocking the walkway to the toilet. Could still hear them after their own 10pm noise curfew, maybe not the right setting to throw an impromptu staff party at a supposedly peaceful resort.

Other than those two things, everything else was lovely.

Really enjoyed the 1 hour relaxation massage. The girls were very professional and really took the time to consider my needs and adjust my treatment accordingly.

The food was great but it was freezing and we were seated inside the restaurant - we asked for a blanket and it was still cold. We had two courses and then had to leave - everyone seemed to feel cold as well - everyone had jackets and jumpers. Such a shame - no warm welcoming ambiance that is key to making a good restaurant.

This place is awesome. Now considering we're in the middle of a pandemic that has locked down most of the country, here in WA we can still visit hidden little gems like this. My wife and I (who is a wheelchair user) booked the accessible cabin to celebrate 10 years of being together. The cabin was great. Every cabin has its own private hot tub with secluded views of the local bushland. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was amazing! While we stayed the restaurant was closed but they did offer a small room service menu consisting of 1 meat option, 1 seafood option and 1 vegetarian option. I highly recommend the chili seafood linguine! Can't wait to stay here again.

Amaroo is situated in the Perth Hills only 30 minutes from the city. Its the perfect weekend getaway. Stayed for 1 night and also purchased a couples massage package. Staff were extremely friendly and we had a great night. Its quite luxurious and even has an outdoor hot tub. Really cannot fault this place. They have thought of everything. Breakfast is left for you outside in the morning offered us a late checkout. Will definitely be back for a relaxing weekend and to try out their new restaurant.
