Zambrero South Yarra reviews
59 Outstanding customer service by Karla & Praveen!
Food taste good but portion size could be bit bigger. Want to return, but as a feedback please work on the portion sizes.
Nice place for lunch, serving staff was patient in making the food given the place was busy.
Really enjoyed their burrito and tacos. Salad Ingredients were fresh, sour cream and guacamole was tasty.
Recommend this place for a good hearty mex feed.
Quite possibly the worst burrito I’ve ever had, I liken the ‘meat’ they use to dog food - awful.
I love Zambrero’s burritos. My order was prepared right after I ordered and I received it within less than 5 minutes. The price is also affordable. Would go back again.
I went last week for first time to try a burrito, I loved it and staff was very helpfull and have good knowledge of the menu. For sure I´ll come back
I love Zambrero's burritos, something about the taste, so good. I always get the Burrito IQ with beef. It's called the signature burrito now. They have a small or large size. The small is like a bit disappointing, it's smaller than like a regular size. But yet the large is hugely bigger. I wish they just had a regular and a large size. There is no middle size for this goldilocks. The prices are far cheaper in store than on any delivery app, just FYI. Also, and not sure if it's the restaurant or the delivery person, so don't put too much weight on this, but more than once the drink in my order has not arrived.
Hit or miss portion size and service. You can now upsize a burrito bowl, which is worth it. But depending on staff, you could end up with a paltry serve sometimes in the past. The staff are also usually unaware of which salsas contain certain ingredients (e.g. Coriander). The owner (?) or a certain female member of staff offen behind the counter is unfriendly and seems to always be annoyed. Always used to love coming here, but find it increasingly difficult to rationalise spending close to $20 for fast casual Mexican when better options are available at a similar price point.
"I used to love going to Zambrero for their delicious food, but after the change of ownership, the quality has gone downhill. The taste of the food is simply terrible now, with bland flavors and poor quality ingredients. It's such a shame to see a once great restaurant go downhill so quickly.
The service has also taken a hit, with staff seeming uninterested and unfriendly. It's clear that the new owners have no idea how to run a restaurant properly and are cutting corners wherever they can.
Overall, I would strongly advise against going to Zambrero under the new ownership. It's a far cry from what it used to be and is simply not worth the money anymore. "
Over other Mexican food franchises, I love the food from Zambrero but this time something went wrong. I placed the order for a bowl through DoorDash for delivery. Quantity was really really very less not sure about the reason! Also, they serve the orders without cutleries. Definitely, will not order from this store next time.
Bro idk what’s going on here but I’m a regular customer coming in once a week and every time I’m served by a different person (what’s up with the staff turnover?) and over the last month or so burritos have been wrapped horribly and it falls apart. One time I even had to ask for a bowl to eat it from because it was impossible. Never had this at a different zambrero and I only come back cause it tastes good but it’s so frustrating!
Service was poor, complained that he would have to make more avocado for my request, all the salad containers were empty and wouldn’t go out the back to get more salad for my bowl. I won’t be going back to this store again.
Must’ve not read my Uber eats order correctly, this has happened twice now. Asked for no beans, came with beans! Paid 70cent for extra sauce, there was no extra sauce. STINGY AS! Order from somewhere else, such a shame happening twice!
Better since the owners changed a couple of months ago. The store is back opening at normal hours (previously they randomly stopped opening for lunch), the dining area is back to fully open again. Feels like a place where they actually want to run a business, employ people rather than running on skeleton staff, and invite customers in.
It was a bit of a weird Zambrero previously, seems much more on-brand and aligned to what you expect now.
Food quality is good.
However I got charged twice wrongly.
Avocado very tiny 1/4teaspoon $2.0
Bean salsa added on $2.0 or so
When I didn't take some other salads in my burrito.
Train the staff consistently
Please get this little things right big help for you.
Customers will come back more and more.
I always get their burrito bowl delivered. It is so yummy and healthy. After a long time, I got to visit the restaurant and sit and have it there.
I love everything about Zambrero. Would give them more number of if possible.
Randomly changed their hours and also double charged me for a single burrito once and refused to give refund. Real dissapointment as i used to love going there.
I’ve been going to this restaurant for a few months now. I love their burritos and nachos. I can spend all my money for the foods
Best zambrero in Aus, great service and they always have the freshest ingredients! Go here 3-4 times a week
They charge you an extra $2 to smear barely 1/4 of a tea spoon of avocado on your burrito. Over it, be reasonable.
Avoid this store. They are dishonest. We presented a valid completed loyalty card good for a free burrito (the previous purchases were all made at this same store). They flatly refused to honour it. Never going there again. Very dishonest bait and switch conduct.
