Yuni's Kitchen reviews
54Great food, friendly staff and family friendly! The menu is small but covers a wide range of different options, which is appreciated. Flavours are fresh and authentic, meal sizes are good value.
Food was yummy. I liked all the little side vegetables with coconut and the pickled cucumber/carrot.
Presentation is excellent and the space is really cute.
However the rendang was a bit too dry on the inside and the lodeh was a bit bland in flavor. Also the sambal options wernt great, I think sambal is one of the most important things when eating indonesian food.
All the vege dishes were excellent though. Will I be back? Not sure, theres lots of really good indonesian restaurants that are cheaper and taste better IMO.
Arrived at 8.13 and told they are closing. Don't bother making the trip if you're arriving after 7.30pm.update: closing hours state 10pm & that poor response from the restaurant is inefficient, infirm & poor.
I've eaten here numerous times and great food as always! Booking in advance is preferred as the restaurant is quite small. Recommend getting the Nasi Campur Ayam and Gado-Gado, real authentic Indonesian food.
Was pretty good. Make sure you either book or go early or late. If you go at 7 they won't have a table
The food was unbelievably tasty. I felt like i was back in Indonesia. Highly recommend this place, the best Indonesian i've had outside of Indonesia
Delightful setting, comfortably set back from the bustle of High St.with the option of indoor or outdoor seating. My preference is outdoors, the garden area is welcoming & relaxed. The food is authentic in flavour & the dishes on offer are super delicious & the team are friendly & helpful. Yuni's is a firm favourite!
Authentic indo balinese food! Glad to have found something like this in Melb. They just need to improve on the waiting time for food, it takes too long compare to other places.
The food served here is okay but it isn't the same Indonesian you can get elsewhere. The Indonesian food they serve here do not have the spicy kick you might be expecting. Overall the food isn't bad, will I return? Maybe.
This place is sensational. The quality of the food is excellent, the setting is beautiful and relaxing, and it’s is not overly pricey considering how good it is. Really good vegan/vegetarian options, the fish and beef rendang are good if you are feeling carnivorous. My favourite restaurant in Northcote.
The Laksa! Get yourself the Laksa! It's not a rich Malaysian style one, but a light summery one with lemongrass flavours, tons of veges, and rice noodles. Soo good!
Absolutely amazing, as usual. I go there at least every fortnight. The laksa is the best in Melbourne.
A superlative service and dining experience, Yuni's Kitchen is the best Indonesian Cuisine I have found in Melbourne. The location lends to a private and serene atmosphere right off High St. Northcote, I can't believe I have only discovered Yuni's Kitchen now despite living in the area for years!
Thank you Matt, Yuni and Juliana for making our meal memorable and accommodating us until the end of the evening. I have plans to revisit you again in the near future! 5 Stars!
Some of the best indonesian I've had in Melbourne. Great customer service and quality ingredients. I had the nasi campur ayam and the ikan pepes and they were both delicious. I am looking forward to trying everything else on the menu.
Went and got takeout from there last night. Absolutely phenomenal. I got the Nasi Campur Sayur (vegan version). Definitely coming back.
Just wonderful. A great space with authentic food and true hospitality. If you’ve recently returned from Indonesia and looking for a hit of nostalgia, here’s your panacea.
Great great great food! Service is solid, space is super cool. Satay ayam is authentic and good, nasi goreng perfectly seasoned. Try the rendang!
Best authentic Indonesian food Ive had in a long time. Recommend to reserve a table instead of walking in.
One of the best SE Asian restaurants in Melbourne.
The ratings speaks for the quality of food.
Ripoff and extremely rude owner. $18 for 3 tiny dried pieces of meat and a spoon of curry. C’mon man, the place is not a fine-dining with tasting menu. It’s a small kitchen restaurant.online pictures are awful to tell how big or small of the dishes are. He wasn’t telling us, he was being rude and defensive rather explaining. POOR customer service. Come if you want to experience ripoff food and rude service from him.
