Great Indonesian restaurant. I love the salted egg fries. There are a couple of vegetarian dishes but the menu is primarily meat dishes. Service is good, including the robot who might bring you food. I like to the mi goreng with salted egg. The desserts are also super delicious. They have Indonesian pancake there.

I've been to many many Indonesian restaurants all around Australia. Most of em are extremely expensive. This place is quite expensive for the portion they serve. I mean I don't mind paying a high price as long as the food is 5/5. However this place is very average. The food lacked flavour, like I feel like it's barely seasoned. My fav Indonesian dish is batagor and I've always get that in every indo restaurant. This place served batagor but the portion was tiny. The fish/tofu dumpling to make the batagor lacked seasoning/flavour. I know it comes with peanut sauce, but the peanut sauce also doesn't taste like Indonesian peanut sauce. It's too sweet and felt watered down. I looked left and right and looked at what other people had and it looked kinda disappointing. Can't really recommend this place.

Absolutely amazing! Probably the best new restaurant in Melbourne - friendly staff, incredible food (the Salted Egg Chicken is the best!) and such great service.

Delicious Indonesian fusion food in a modern cafe setting. Had the Mie Ayam Warung with beef balls as add-ons. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, while the egg noodles are slightly wide and chewy - just like what’s used for mee pok, my favourite!

My friend had the Nasi Pecel Yoi, which has a bit of everything: fried chicken, tempeh mendoan, half a duck egg, pecel salad and onion crackers.

Pros - generous portion
Cons - spiciness level unable to be modified

YOI recently released a new Bakmie Series! We tried the
Bakmie Ayam Rica Rica
Bakmie Wonton and Fishballs
Both very delicious.
Definitely don't forget to order the BEST homemade martabak in Melbourne! My favourite Indonesian sweet Pandan Martabak with Kaya & Peanut

Food is …below average, even the simplest deep fried tofu is a bit gross. Dessert is the safest item to order.

Highly recommend the biscoff drink, it’s sweet but unique and tasty in flavour.

Food was nice, the Indonesian fusion was a great combination.

The spice level of each dish was adequate, and portion sizes were perfect.

Price per dish was very fair, overall an inexpensive dinner.

A good location for celebrating, or a catch up with friends.

Service was mostly done through a robot, ordering through a QR Code.

Bathrooms are located outside of the facility, which is mildly inconvenient.

Good food and flavours. Spacious seating (good for young families). Friendly staff. Communal washroom can involve a bit of a wait.

Very fast service, friendly staff.

Food quality however was extremely disappointing. We ordered their salted egg chicken on rice and chili crab noodle. Fried chicken was dry and i felt like the sauce was not enough. They are very generous with plain rice portion though. They charge $7.50 for extra sauce. The chili crab noodle was way too salty.

Good introduction to Indonesian food. Their chicken was really spicy it almost made me cry. Plus the matabak was really good!

Food is ok. But I think the Mie Goreng Ayam Geprek (instant noodle + fried chicken) was not worth 22$ and the drinks size were very small.

Absolute best martabak in Australia! It was fresh, made to order. As a big martabak fan, I'll be back for the martabak for sure.
The meals were full of flavour. It felt like authentic Indonesian.
We were seated outside so I can't say much for the atmosphere. But service was quick and easy. And they waited until we finished our main meal before they brought out the martabak. We didn't have to wait too long for anything.

Everything about this place is amazinggg, the food gets served on a robot which is so fun and cute! The YFC chicken is so crispy and juicy, if you love spice you need to try this! Their drinks are incredible and the Martabak which is a stuffed pancake like dessert, was the most delicious thing ever

Great little Indonesian place.

The chilli crab noodles was flavourful and didn't feel spicy. The spicy chicken came with rice and was pretty spicy, but manageable. It would be wise to have something to drink with the spicy chicken.

Expect to spend around $20 for a meal here.

Loved their limited version of Yfc fried chicken with chilli and rice. So good. Was sweating cos of the heat!

The mie goreng with fried chicken is also tasty.
Love the avocado coffee and lastly.

The dessert was super good. Ordered the pandan murtabak with super generous helping of peanuts and kaya.

Must try

I went to get my quick fix for take away today. While waiting, I saw the cook munching the food he is frying without gloves. It was not only once or twice, he kept taking the freshly fried food which I believe is fried chicken skin. It was not a good sight and it is not hygienic. I was asked to wait outside too and it was cold and windy day. But i decided to stand inside, watching my food being packed slowly, staff are lacked of enthusiasm, food is very average. I wont be back. There are many other good Indonesian restaurants in Melbourne.

This Indonesian fusion restaurant is very popular — They had a long wait line and was fully occupied when we visited so we knew we had to see what it was like! We tried their

Squid Ink Salted Egg Noodles — Squid Ink noodles cooked aglio olio style topped with salted egg sauce and fried calamari ($21)
Mie Goreng Salted Egg Chicken — Indomie salted egg with salted egg chicken ($22)
️Ice Milo Milkshake ($6)

We came in with relatively high expectations as this place is very hyped, but to be honest, we were a bit disappointed. Both dishes were way too salty and the flavours were unbalanced. Yes I am aware it is salted egg flavour but it was very dominant and missed something to complete the dish. We kept going back to drink water after each bite and in the end we couldn’t finish either dishes — the salt in the dish was too overpowering. Furthermore, it has made the texture of the noodles dry and sticky and honestly it was just missing something to tie it all together and add moisture and balance to the dish. I do understand they were extremely busy so something might have been overlooked (?) as these dishes were recommended highly to us.

Overall, it is a very pretty and aesthetic restaurant and obviously they do cook up some pretty good food otherwise they wouldn’t be so popular. Despite our experience not being good, I would still go back and try their other dishes (probably something not with salted egg in it though!)

Yoi never fails to disappoint with its Indonesian fusion cuisines. Their food is consistent every time and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Their Yoi fried chicken with rice was impressive and not for the feint hearted. A hot chilli oil that has a smokey taste and the batter is so crunchy and remains that way throughout. The nasi jingo was wrapped in a banana leaf and the dish itself was so aromatic and flavourful.

For dessert, their martabak is quite popular and the pandan can be tasted throughout. The dessert is a mix of sweet and salty but definitely a dessert to try

Loved each dish and its always so hard to decide which dish to try next
