Yering Station Winery reviews
76I love the grandeur of Yering station with its massive windows in the restaurant and undulating views of the country side. It has an impressive and commanding corridor that leads to the distillery and outdoor areas. This modern building is separate to the historical chateau and is architecturally designed using lots of different materials and shapes. There's plenty to see and do even if you don't eat there. You can do wine tasting on the property, as well as purchase various artisan products. I highly recommend you visit the entirety of this historic and majestic property!
Had lunch here. Service was great, food was probably not up to the standard for the cost. The place needs a refresh too.
Had a winer tasting and then lunch here. I don't know much about wine so I can only say the wines we mre nice. The place ia definitely beautiful. Food was of good quality. What I like the most is the full length windows in the restaurant and it was a relaxing lunch.
Pathetic service and attitude. Came at 215pm and the servers tell me they are stopping lunch service already. If there’s any place that perpetuates the stereotype of the lazy Australians, it’s probably this place.
We came to this restaurant to celebrate an important occasion.
Sadly the waitress (or the kitchen - we don't know) forgot our order. An hour after we ordered we asked about our entrees which were finally bought out to us. But then the same thing happened again with our mains. After two (2!) hours our mains finally arrived. We had had to enquire again about our mains to get anything. The food was ok, pretty good really, but the lunch and celebration was already ruined for us.
At the end of our meal, all we received was a mumbled half apology from a random waitress and a $6 discount for a couple of coffees we ordered. This was the most demoralising part of the experience. Not even a proper apology.
Anyway. We will not come back.
If you find yourself waiting long periods for your entree, make sure you stay vigilant about your mains too
Very well maintained place. Got to get free taste of different wines. A place worth seeing on ಯಾರರ Valley tours
The meal was fantastic, beautiful presentation and well balanced a great experience.
The service however left alot to be desired, the maitre d' was doing his best, but they were understaffed and the staff they had were very deadpan.
We celebrated a Birthday at Yering Station last year and it was much better experience, this was duly to the staff and the already mentioned food.
Room to improve
I had been looking forward to lunch at Yering Station, what I received instead of was inattentive service, huge gaps between courses, an overwhelmingly loud environment, and generally an unpleasant experience. While some of the elements of the meals we had could have been fantastic, the lamb and beef were overdone and other elements, tastewise, missed their mark. It isn't enough to sit and have a glass of bubbly or wine, it's the entire package. Yering Station missed the mark!
Tiny portions, overpriced and a total tourist trap. Food tasted ordinary presentation was attractive. Won't be back
Beautiful place and surrounding. Wine tasting is ok. The service at the restaurant is lacking and food is not great either. A bit of a let down since many recommended this place.
Second time we’ve been here for a tasting, we were served by a lady first up, then she abandoned us for another group, and after a while another staff member came over to continued our tasting, he was a bit flat to be honest. Very uninspired visit, was a similar experience to our first visit. Wine was nice but we didn’t bother hanging around.
Nice place and the coffee is realllllly good if you cannot take alcohol. A bit overprice but the restaurant setting earns it.can have a lunch here before you head off to Chandon
I use to love Yering station. Today I was sad to see that besides for our amazing server the place is now a tourist trap were they expect you to be silent and not enjoy the wine rather than with friends discussing what you like and don't like about wine and there wines. Its a tourist trap.much better Yarra Valley wines.
An unfortunate winery to finish a great day in the Yarra Valley. Were made to feel very unwelcome by rude staff. No information given about the wines. Wines were good though.
Very enjoyable wine tasting experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and will provide you with lots of information about the wines you are tasting and the winery itself.
Lovely setting and a great wine tasting.
Unfortunately let down by the poor customer service in the restaurant / seating area. A short bald man in particular who spotted us sitting down waiting for service and let us sit there for 15 minutes. Kind of spoilt a great opportunity to get a glass of wine and sit and admire the view.
