My son - DJ in Cayman Islands- chose this as first place to visit during stay in St Kilda East.

Yeah the tacos rule, the beers are cheapish, and the vibes are good. We go out of our way to go down here and we live 45 minutes away.

Great environment with popular and old school rock music. The meals were great, and the staff so friendly and welcoming.

I haven’t always had a great experience at Yellow Bird Cafe so I wish I didn’t have to give a five star rating. But today the service was superb (a new waitress?) and the food was perfect. So here it is, five stars.

Get around the happy hour tacos and drinks. Decent alcohol on offer and the best tacos I've had for that price. A regular here and not ashamed of it!

Love this place! Always a chill vibe. Other patrons are always polite and respectful - it's Chapel Street; there's every type you can imagine.:) Plus great crowd watching.

I've never had a bad thing from the menu, and the coffee is definitely a winner. I used to live in High Street; now thay I don't I make it a point to come back to this joint whenever I'm in Prahran!

I just love the vibe! It’s a 5 star on everything, hospitality and food. I was craving French Toast and gladly I came to the right place!

Cool fitout, great atmosphere and location on Chapel St. Servings were generous but service was slow and a few of our dishes were on the cold side, especially the chips.

Happy hour everyday from 4-7 pm with 3$ tacos. Relaxed atmosphere, good music and good cocktails. Tacos are a must!

I had a great experience visiting Yellow Bird tonight. Yes, the ambience is so fun, but even better is the fact that the staff is so friendly and service is quick. To top things off, the fish burger with gluten free bun that I ordered was the TRUTH.

I visited during happy hour and was really impressed. I’ll be back!

Amazing food and staff- wanted to take my mum there for lunch but the music was too loud to hear ourselves talk

Before we got here, we thought that this is a Mexican joint but actually it was only a portion of it's menu. They serve brunch/pub grub dishes. The burger was a little dry but the fries are crunchy which is how I like it. The fritters are pretty good and not as dry as the other restaurant's. Food comes out fairly quickly too and they have extensive drinks menu including cocktails.

Cheap plentiful 60's style cafe grub. Trendy, deliberately tacky but takes us back to the 60's. Friendly quick service. A must for retro style food and atmosphere. Great coffee. Loud music

We had iced coffee and beer and a very tasty quesadilla accompanied by a delicious salsa. Nice to have a shady (or sunny if you prefer) table sitting on the exterior terrace. The service provided by Anna was very friendly and efficient.

I was checking out the neighbourhood and this place was 4.3 so thought I would refuel here. It lived up to the ratings. The coffee was good and the food tasty and larger portions. The yellow bird was busy so other are experiencing the same good service and good.

Great atmosphere and was especially impressed when a staff member who hadn't served me previously walked past my table asked if I wanted another drink and already knew what I was drinking. Old fashioned getting to know your customers.

Superb menu, speedy and friendly service. Great selection, and a comfortably casual yet funky atmosphere. Much seating and no waits for service, queueing to pay or to get a beverage. Very clean and proffessional.

MY FAVORITE EATERY. Literally my favorite place to go for something to eat, their prices are so good for the size of the food and their drinks are well prepared. Been there a ridiculous amount of times and have never been disappointed, they really listen and are so laid back. I have asked to tweak an order and they did it without a sigh or word, was lovely.
