Yellow Bird Cafe reviews
73Great food, great service, excellent atmosphere, and a very good selection of beers. And other drinks.
No one wants to take your order. When they finally do take your order, they forget it.
Ordered the iced coffee. Was served warm with no coffee flavour. It's actually a spider.
Tables inside are sticky and indoors has a pub smell.
Absolutely love this place. Amazing vibe with a history of Melbourne gig posters covering the wall. Food is very well priced and portion sizes are on the larger side as well.
It would be a five star raiting but last time one fo the guys that works there treat us really rough and it was a shame. My friends and I go regularly because we think is a nice place. Unfortunately I won't go there anymore. Maybe he has a bad day. Hope the best for him
Burger was ok, chicken was over cooked. The chips were great! Music was too loud to talk to each other.
Was in the area for an appointment, what a great little find! Great food & service best of all we didn’t have to wait long for our meals.
Love this place! The food is really good, however music might be a bit too loud to have a conversation with someone.
Nice and rowdy place to enjoy a beer or a cocktail. If you enjoy some honest non pompous drinks and a casual atmosphere this place is awesome.
Cool vibe but alright bar food. We visited on the weekend when we failed to make reservations so this was one of the only places available. The decor is very hip and lighting is low. Music is loud so choose the outdoor seating if you would like to have a conversation with your companions.
I got the cheeseburger - it was a classic, and came with fries and a sauce of choice. I would describe it as not any better than eating at a fast food restaurant but paying a slightly higher price of $20 for the meal. There were quite a few pickles in the burger, and not much melted cheese.
My husband enjoyed his bean quesadilla, which came with some chopped tomatoes and cream sauce on the side. I had a cider on the tap and my husband had a margarita.
I come to this place for dinner and or drinks around 3 times a month, the food keeps brining me back, and is 100% the highlight of this place. The burgers are my favourite but the nachos are also great. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The only reason I cant give these guys a full 5 stars is if you've been here you could probably guess: loud music. Is it a bar/café or a club? Im always screaming to just have a conversation. Id love to just go there one day with some friends for dinner and drinks and leave with my vocal chords intact. I know that's like your whole shtick, "We love rock music and we like it LOUD! Yeahhh! " but I think most would agree that it puts more off than it attracts. The vibes would be perfect if the music was down a couple decibels. I'll still be coming back for the great atmosphere and food regardless though.
Went to the toilet, had a guy knock the door in. Got told by 2 girls that he was hammered so it was okay and that he didn't mean anything. Tried to explain that it was terrifying as an assault victim and one of the girls blocked my way. The manager Kenny then told me he was sorry but it wasn't their problem, kicked the guy out but tried to let the girls stay when they excused his behaviour. Then got kicked out while trying to explain myself
I being more than a couple of times to this cafe, I was so sad when it was closed for covid and then, the other cafes started to opening and this one not! I was so confused, I thought maybe they won't be yellow bird anymore? And here I am again, loving it as the first time, lovely service! Spectacular food and my coffee on the right point️thanks guys and Theresa for today! I'll see you soon
Huge menu, delicious food, brilliant music, great staff. An easy, cosy, yummy experience. Cheers!
5 stars for vibes, cocktails and fish tacos. Also cool staff! Also good drink specials / affordable and no fuss.
Great Mexican food to be shared Tapas style or as a larger meal for a good price. All can be washed down with good beer. Love the punk vibe and decor and it may be because of this that the staff act sulky and abrupt, but it kind of adds to the flavour and authenticity. And I’ll ignore most hospitality slights when full of taco and beer. Good Place.
Great place for lunch, if you like good food and enjoy people watching. Service could have been better and the box of table sauces (on a hot day) are a bit of a worry.
At the end, I wasn't shown the bill, just charged and then did a calculation in my head as I walked out and figured out that I was overcharged $18, which they happily refunded.but it could have easily been avoided with better service.
What a lovely venue! Their staff is so funky, the service was incredible. Best venue I’ve been to since lockdown and everyone has been so hospitable. Massive shoutout to Lily. She looked after our table like we were the only Gals in the world - she deserves the biggest gold star in the world. We will be back 100% ️
Lovely vibe, friendly staff, great food and drinks.
I recommend the spicy margarita. Yum yum spicy!:)
Go for a drink or a meal. Taco's are most popular. Being gf with a funny tum, chef made me some tasty chicken n salad. Apparently the burgers are yummo too.
Cool funky decor, loved it. Staff were so friendly too. Take your interstate guests for a real slice of Melbourne.
The most amazing chicken vermicelli salad, always great for a Saturday afternoon relaxing catch up
