Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem! We've been to quite a few yum cha in the Eastern suburbs and this one was outstanding in every area, especially their service and attitude towards young kids.

While almost every other yum cha we've been to has staff that are sour faced or always so impatient, Wealth Kitchen has amazing staff that are happy to accommodate little ones and their staff also generally seems younger and well versed in Mandarin on top of English and Cantonese.

The food quality and variety was great too, the trolleys make frequent rounds and the dessert selection has everything you would expect at a decent yum cha.

Great Yum-cha! Lots of variety. Very busy, so food is always fresh. Trying to get the attention of staff is sometimes difficult, but requests are quickly dealt with when you do.

It's the first time I ate here, and the parking space is quite tight at noon. The restaurant is basically full, so you still need to make a reservation if there are too many people.

Went dinner on Sunday. Ordered 4 dishes. We ordered 京都骨, braised beef, kuei fei chicken & Kangkung with fermented bean curd.

The first dish came looked like sweet & sour pork and we thought they brought the wrong order. When spoke to the manager, we were told that it was 京都骨 n that the difference between sweet & sour pork & 京都骨 is that sweet & sour pork has no bones whilst the other has bones. This is the first red flag! We didn’t make a fuss n accepted giving the benefit of doubt that it it’s their style. My take is that they made a mistake and tried to pawn it off so that they don’t have to redo and waste what they made.

The braised radish beef came next. Taste wise decent but the radish wasn’t soft as if it was just blanched and thrown in.

Next came the kangkung dish. Whilst eating half way, my friend chewed on something rubbery n thot it was dried squid. Upon checking, it is found to be a rubber band. We hilighted to the manager and he quickly took away the rubber band and said that the kitchen hand probably forgot to untie it whilst washing. This sets one thinking how they wash their vege or if they even wash them. No apologies or whatsoever was extended.

After our vege dish, we waited for more than 20 mins for our last dish, a chicken dish which wasn’t served even tho several reminders given to the servers.
We decided that we no longer want the dish and told the manager that we would like to cancel the chicken dish since it hasn’t arrived and we were somewhat full by then. He then checked and found that the dish was sitting at the serving counter for quite awhile and said that the servers forgot to serve us. He then tried to get us to accept the dish which we declined as we weren’t sure how long the dish has been out in the open. He then asked us to takeaway instead as it is already cooked which we declined as we went there for a meal, not to takeaway. The manager wasn’t happy that we insisted to cancel n take the dish out of the bill.

Hence, this will be my first & last visit to this restaurant. Also, please check your receipts properly when paying.

Located on Doncaster road, next to the Doncaster bus depot, Wealth kitchen can be very busy during the weekend lunch period as they serve yum cha.

Service is no fuss and very quick, so it's handy to have people who are ordering sitting next to the aisles where the trolley is.

Food is good, though not spectacular, and most of the dumplings and seafood is on offer. White bait, squid, har gow, Siew mai, Wu Kok, Gai lan.it's all there.

Same with desserts of silken tofu, egg tarts, agar jellies and more.

There is no seating outside and there is a surcharge for credit cards

General food quality is alright. However, pricing is a bit steep for what is offered. Not worth it

The standard of food is so-so, and the service is in place. The atmosphere is also good, you can give it a try.

I did not know what yumcha was before this so I was quite surprised But food was good, dumplings were yummy so were the pastries and buns. Beef was nice but quickly got cold and soggy. Mango pudding was one of my favourites and the bill wasnt as bad as I was expecting. I had some communication issues with the staff due to the language barrier but they were friendly and trying their the best to understand. I’m glad I had this new experience today!

This restaurant hates babies and toddlers. I went there with my toddler and some friends. My toddler dropped some food onto the floor (as babies all do when they eat!). One waitress walked past and said 'WOW' at the floor. Another waitress said loudly 'we'll need to clean that up, not right now but when they leave'. I always clean up after my baby and being the bigger person, I also did on that occasion. I've never been so humiliated eating out. They also offer cash discounts - @ato TAX EVASION RED FLAG

Delicious yum cha restaurant. My favourite were the fried footballs. There are two savoury footballs to choose from. Taro with mince or glutinous rice with mince. Both are so tasty and you won’t regret choosing it. Crunchy on the outside and chewy/meaty on the inside. Various selection of dim sims/dumplings etc.were also nice. Favourite dessert is the egg tarts! You have to order more than one for sure! Perfect sweet eggy custard in the centre and flaky pastry on the outside, 10/10.

You can’t order the dishes, so just be patient and wait for the trolley ladies to roll around to your table. Remember to ask for soy sauce and chilli sauce to take the dish to the next level! Price is on the expensive side but otherwise delicious. Lovely and friendly staff.

A very traditional Hong Kong style restaurant. My first eating out meal at Melbourne. Good Dim Sum food for lunch. Better book a table before hand, rather busy in the afternoon.

Wealth Kitchen does yumcha at a reasonable standard and pricing. Some dumplings were over cooked. Not my favourite spot but it’ll do in a pinch.

Have not been here for years, heard from friends recommending dim sum here which they said was good and reasonably priced. We decided to try dinner instead and we were very pleased with the food, service and fair prices. We ordered the eggplant with stuffed prawns, pork chops, braised fish with beancurd and free range chicken and were happy with the food quality and portion for 4 of us. Soup and dessert were offered too. The service is exceptional compared to many other Cantonese restaurants. Helen and her colleagues were friendly and helpful. Will be back again soon!

Waiters were unattentive, took 30minutes to come to the table. Once the food was ordered we waited a 1.5 hrs to recieve it. Terrible service.

We here from 13: 45, but nothing to eat, no kitchen food can orde because they said the chefs not here today. And NO dim sum at all because most of them are sold out. I don't understand why they still arrange the seats for us.

I booked for yum cha lunch at 1230 and requested table close to the rest room. As i have a elderly father in law, who is on a walking frame and other medical issues. I made it clear to who ever was taking my booking this was important. I was re assured this was not be a problem.
So on the day, we arrive at the restaurant, unfortunately i walk in last after parking the car. I find my relatives standing at the very back of the Restaurant. Not what i had requested when i booked. I let the waiter know what i had requested. So we then move to another table.
Waiting staff seemed embarassed by the lack of communication by the mgr.
Later, we decided to place a order for what I call cooked to order dishes. I place a order for white bait and calamari. A waiter a long time later approaches me with a plate of wait bait, I naturally assume it must be our freshly cooked white bait. Stone cold. Then the calamari arrives, also cold. The yum cha items are a good size here, unfortunately the only tick they get
Dont look down at the carpet. I will just say cleanliness has a lot to be desired.

You have strictly one hour to dine in otherwise the waitresses will collect your order sheet and give you the bill. (Unless you were a regular to the restaurant) Before I booked this place and I thought all yumcha are the same. Now, I could tell you it is not! I would rather spend a little more for restaurants in the CBD rather visit this one. At least, all dim sum were “safe” to order, No weird tastes. For example, the stuffed tofu is tasteless, the sauce come with it make it even worse. There was limited choice of dim sum and no steamed buns. Parking is a horror if you arrived late. Luckily, we were in the first session (during weekdays), no problem in looking for spot, but found out people were double parked when pick up our car. This restaurant is not friendly to new customers. Another one in my no return list.

Just like the name itself, very fancy and classy restaurant. The service and the food make your money really worth it. Definitely recommend it.
