Walrus Chinese Restaurant

This place is a gem. Even though it takes 28 mins for me to drive there, I still go there. Your meal always begin with a soup. We never fail to order a clams cooked with X. O.sauce. Just with that dish, I can eat several bowls of rice with its gravy. I suspect that there is not as much MSG in its dishes than other restaurants. I only know that I thirst less after having dinner at this restaurant. Go now & you will get a free calendar for the year filled with beautiful paintings. I was pleasantly surprised when I was presented with one.

Always serve great, tasty food! We always order the wings, whole fish, pork belly and greens plus a dish we decide on the night! Wide range of food that's amazingly delish!

Terrible and poor customer service! I think that it is illegal to keep customers mobile numbers without authorization, only to send a text message to come collect a free gift.when i went to get the measly gift, the tall lady with short hair said no, only one per family.i said why send me the text message, if you not going to give it.she couldn't even answer me back.makes me wonder what other information they are keeping without authorization.

3 stars went with a couple of friends. Love the whole free soup thing. Service was a bit absent-minded but always sincere.

Jellyfish w pork hock was ok.

Had a crab and for about $90ish there wasn’t much meat or roe. A bit disappointed to be honest, as I heard great things about the crab here.

The BBQ meats are good, the duck was the best and served slightly warm. Chicken was slightly on the cooler side but still delish. The char siu was dry though.

The eggplant clay pot was so oily that I had one bite and wanted to stop. We all pretty much left the eggplant clay pot alone after that

Oh when it came to paying for the bill, the waitress purposely gave me all dollar coins even when they have float dollar bills, ignored my outstretched hand and left on the change tray, fully expecting me to leave a tip when customer service was poor! Cheapskate practice. Perhaps management should start paying staff living wage?

Awful service and food is pretty average for the price you pay. Despite the good reviews I really don't know why some people rate it so high. We also had some rude patrons sitting next to us who tried to put their food on our table as they couldn't fit their dishes on to their table, without even asking - how rude! We should have taken their dishes and started eating it. If these are the patrons they attract that's another good reason for not ever coming back. A bad dining experience unfortunately. Not worth it.

Had takeout from this busy restaurant. The chicken and cashews was disappointing as it lacked any signicant flavour. For the price I felt it could have been a little more pleasing to the palette.

Always the best Chinese in Australia. Go for the spare chicken ribs and the XO sauce Lobster noodles.

The food was great but we ordered a lobster which was very expensive and too large for our party of 5.

Popular Chinese/Vietnamese restraunt in Springvale, one of the go to places for large or family gatherings. Food is good with a wide variety of dishes to choose from, pretty much anything that flies, swims or walks. Price for dishes are reasonable and service is attentive.

A good feed but getting progressively more expensive. Go with a crowd and finish up spending quite a bit.

Enjoyed an extended family dinner here recently. Large round tables available. The food was delicious. Service was prompt as usual.

Bought 3 big boxes of roasts and was told off when asked for 3 little tubs of sauces. The lady cashier only gave 1 at first. The customer before me bought 1 small box of roast and the cashier asked him if he wanted 2 tubs of different sauces. Im like wutttt? One of the worker made a mistake with my order and the lady cashier (who is not the boss) rudely told him off - leaving me to feel bad for him. Food is nice - skin of roast pork is crispy but I won't take a chance of witnessing workplace mistreatment or coming out of the shop feeling bad for asking extra sauce? Go ahead and charge me for it. I'm a customer who don't mind paying. Don't tell me that I can't have more sauce. Grrrrrrr. #saucedeprived.

Great food and prompt friendly service.
The best time to visit is during the day. At night the tablecloths come out and the prices go up.

If there was a no star option i would tick that. Ordered the ginger mud crab with noodles. $95 for the dish. Absolutely no meat on the crab, when I say no meat I managed to scrape up around a teaspoon and my wife the same. Noodles tasteless. Really disappointing. Asked for a discount, they called the cops!

Nice place to have a meal. Had the crab and it was delicious. The staff are helpful and the food positions are decent. I enjoyed the meal. The place has good selection on alcohol and other drinks.
The soup is also good. Higly recommend to try it if you visit the place.
The resturant consists of a large floor which can accomadate a large group of people

Taste and portion size are pretty good, but too pricey for the quality. Average about $30 a dish.
