W Melbourne reviews
58 WOW, lost for words but all i can say is I WANT TO GO BACK! <3
My partner surprised me with a one night stay here at the W hotel melbourne and wow! I absolutely loved it! It's probably my new favourite place to stay over crown! The luxury here is far far more! The quality in the service and staff is impeccable. As soon as you arrive, the car collection area looks amazing! Even the cleaner guy that was cleaning by the elevators was super nice! We were a bit lost and he helped us along and even came out the hotel to recommend some nice restaurants around!
THE BATHROOM! I need to mention the bathroom omg, the toilet is a Japanese smart toilet, it warms the seat for you, everything is automatic so no touching, it's very clean and now i may be out of pocket $4K for wanting one in my own home haha! The bath is absolutely lovely too! I love all the quirky designs, even the gold spray cans on the wall for floor numbers!
The gym is super spacious and provides all equipment you could possibly need for a good workout! The POOL IS AMAZING! It has a bar service as well so enjoy a cocktail in/by the pool
They also have this service called Order whatever, whenever - literally perfect, we ordered some hot drinks while watching a movie in the room and the service was super fast, took about 10 mins to get to us! The drinks were so so nice! Best service ever as usually in crown you would wait an hour for room service
I highly recommend and i will definitely be back!
A bit overpriced for what it is, i think the other W resorts are a lot nicer. I was expecting a bit more Melbourne.
Also i think the pool area should be adults only from 9pm or so, as we came to the pool later on at night to relax and it was full of kids splashing around till after 10 30pm, and we weren't the only couples annoyed by this.
I had high hopes took my family, pool is small rooms feel uncomfortable.service poor charged extra 200 dollars on my card with out so much as a phone call, sneaky.
Absolutely fantastic. First class service and stunning decor. We stayed here for our daughters 13th birthday with a group of her friends and they went all out to make it a memorable experience - organised balloons for me, gifted her a fantastic cake and card, and drew a fun message on the mirrors. And the pool is amazing! Highly recommend for holidays or staycations in the city.
Great service and accommodation. Would recommend although be careful on giving upfront authorisation on debit card as it takes 14 days to return to your account leaving you out of pocket $500 after settling the bill.
Poor service over the phone. Cost cutting at the extreme. Phone staff have a poor command of English. Wont pay the extra required to employ quality Australian staff in an effort to save money.
Amazing decor, location is a little off central. Interior design is wonderful, however all puppy rooms are located on level 2 with not much view. Curious bar is a must visit.
Outstanding quality of rooms, good service and special touches. Design features were gorgeous and the room was spacious and well appointed. The toilet was amazing! Location excellent for centre of Melbourne with good public transport options. The only downside was the loud foyer and elevator music. Turn this off, and it’s a perfect stay.
Stayed W Taipei, W Beijing, W Guangzhou, W Bangkok, this is the 5th W hotel I ever stayed.
Brand new, modern design, consistent to the typical style and vibes of W hotel, fun, young, funky, chic and clubbing-like.
Compare to other old 5 star hotels in Australia, W Melbourne could be a flagship hotel for this industry, but still its downgraded when comparing to other other W in Asia. (W Osaka in Japan opened 2 or 3 months after W Melbourne opened, but I can notice Osaka one is at another level)
For W Melbourne,
-No door man at the entrance, guest have to move luggage by themselves, which is very embrassing given its the most basic thing for a hotel
-For in house guest we cannot get a table for the bar, why the hotel booked out so many table to public? Shouldn't in house guest be the priority customer for the hotel facility? Or hotel should spare some tables for in house guest.
-Toilet amenity downgraded from US brand Bliss to some random brand which I never heard about, neither smell nor feeling are good.
-24 hour pool is a thumb up but too many kids and noisy, I was forced to leave the pool bcz it turned from a nice 5 star hotel pool to aquatic centre full with noise. Some family bring 3 kids to the pool at one time.
-Nevertheless it worth to check out, but don't expect too much.
Everything was exceptional. Clean modern rooms, terrific friendly service & great food & drinks at Lollo. One of Melbourne’s best!
We stayed 1 night fir birthday and anniversary celebration. We were surprised by beautiful cake chocolates cake from W staff. We really enjoyed stay. Service are amazing and everyone are so friendly.
Some for the entry areas locked with no signage.insufficient lighting in toilets. Lollo drinks area is too small.
We stayed at the W Melbourne for 2 nights as part of a staycation and it was amazing from the moment we arrived.
The hotel itself is so nicely styled in a modern ‘Melbourne’ feel. Very moody.
The service from everyone we encountered was 5/5
It’s actually really nice that the rooms feel like something more than just a hotel room. Really nicely styled and well equiped, the bathroom was great!
Breakfast at Lollo & Drink at Curious really topped off a great stay!
Very small reception area and messy.
Very small pool and crowded change room.
Only the breakfast is decent.
We stayed at the Fantastic Suite for my husband's birthday. The hotel went above and beyond to ensure our stay went smoothly including a special birthday surprise. They were also able to organise a last minute booking at Curious for us (Friday night) which was most appreciated. Minor teething issues as expected with a brand new hotel but otherwise a truly FANTASTIC stay:) We will be back!
Gorgeous interiors in the rooms. We took our cats and they loved it, all the staff were lovely it was just overall a phenomenal experience.
From the arrival through to check out W Melbourne is an experience. Hotel manager Andrew and his team went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay. We dined at Lollo & were fortunate enough to get into Curious. It’s so good in fact I’m writing this review as I stay here for a second time. Highly recommend.
A fantastic stay. We stayed for a single night over a long weekend and I could not have wished for a better experience. The staff were fantastic, chirpy and professional.
I was upgraded to the Fantastic suite and it was gorgeous. The bathroom was stunning and the soaps, shampoos, etc.were a decent size and a little snazzier than your usual hotel bathroom amenities. The little touches like makeup removal wipes, a cute loofah and face wash (not just body wash) really tipped the experience from a night in a hotel to a little holiday. The room was massive and split into two distinct areas - a lounge area with sofa and coffee table and plenty of room (and storage!) then the bedroom with a walk in wardrobe area and table for two. The bed was very comfortable and we could connect our phones to the TV to watch movies from our streaming accounts. Mini bar was stocked with some very interesting drinks and snacks (as well as socks and games). As a non-drinker I loved the boutique softdrink options. Much nicer than the usual boring can of lemonade or cola.
The pool area was lovely and although there were quite a few children around we did get a good half hour of peaceful swimming in the afternoon and then all to ourselves early the next morning. In room dining options were nice, the cocktail bar was buzzing and there were some great mocktail options on the extensive menu. There was a DJ and some trendy tunes being spun- not my usual scene but would love to go back earlier in the evening and see if it was a little more relaxed. For breakfast we dined at Lollo and it was nice. Usual breakfast fare and some notable green tea options. I really liked using the chat function on the mobile app to ask quick questions like when the pool was open or to book a seat at the bar.
The hotel was booked out on this night but apart from the pool area it did not feel crowded or busy at all. Well done to the staff - it is clearly not easy working in hospitality during this pandemic but everyone I came across had smile and welcoming service. W hotel Melbourne really met the standards of a 5 star international hotel, I'm glad we had the opportunity to indulge in a night away here.
False information regarding pet policy. Nothing was mentioned until our arrival.
Animals must be with an adult at all times and cannot be left in the room alone. No pet minding available. Astronomical amount for pet bond. Manager dismissive. Cancelled all gallery and dinner reservations. Totally disappointed and deflated.
I had the nicest meal at lollo. Rose was an amazing host at our table. Five star service. Food was good but the service was the best.
