Village Cinemas Century City reviews
63So some salesman said to one of Village's purchasing officers, "hey, I can save you heaps of money on your toilet paper! " Hahahaha except! False economy! Cos you got to use 3 to 4 times as much not to get **** in your fingers! Stupid, so thin you can tear it by blowing in it! Yes, cheaper by the roll, but dearer cos you need to purchase more! Suckers! Good cinema though.
The theater is a little bit hard to get to, with a lot of stairs near the shopping center entrance and not a lot of signage about how/where to get in. The parking is inadequate to an extreme - the only parking I could find after driving around for a while all around the shopping center had either a 1.5 or 2 hour limit. Most movies run at least that long, plus needing to get in and out of the theater, so this seems like a humongous oversight. The limited staff I encountered did not know what to do about parking, and when I emailed Village Cinemas I never got a response. So don't go here unless you and everyone in your group can arrive via public transportation or another means of getting there.
We came to watch the movie Nun 2 Cinemas 8 at 11: 30 a.m. At Century City Walk, and there was a weird smell, like dampness, in the whole movie hall. And it feels like it has not been cleaned. I can feel dust allergies as I have been sneezing since I entered. Worst experience and hygiene issues. I definitely do not recommend anyone to come here for any show.
Friendly service, comfy chairs, and okay prices! Was unfortunate we couldn't access closed captions for the movie we saw but knew there wasn't much staff could do as they were not provided a subtitle file.
Hold on tight and buckle up! The 4DX experience at Village Cinemas in Century City is a roller-coaster of sensory overload. Let me break it down:
The 4DX Experience: This isn't your grandma's cinema experience. The 4DX was intense—like being on a roller coaster, complete with water sprays. Imagine holding onto your popcorn for dear life as your seat shakes and jolts you around. It's a fun twist, but be prepared—it's much more intense than you might expect. My girlfriend and I got a good laugh from the water sprays, although the theatrics can be a bit distracting from the movie itself.
Candy Bar and Amenities: Expensive but good quality. You pay for what you get and the service was exceptional. The cinema has a dated charm but is immaculately maintained. Everything from the corridors to the restrooms was spotless.
Parking: Here's where it hurts. The parking situation isn't ideal and added some unnecessary stress to our outing. Not really the cinema's fault, but it's part of the overall experience.
Overall: If you're looking for a movie experience that engages all your senses, this is it. It's the only cinema offering 4DX and for that alone, it's worth the drive. Will it replace traditional cinema for me? No. But is it a wild ride that I can highly recommend? Absolutely.
We'll definitely be back for more.
Absolutely amazing the 4DX experience and affordable too! It’s easily accessible near Glen Waverley train station and by bus too. It’s only not a 5 star review given the experience also gave me the bottom of the popcorn, also cold and children were talking through the whole movie. They should bring back the restrictions and enforce them that age verification is required to show you are 15 years of age to enter an M rated movie. It does affect the experience having young children in adult movies.
Would have gicen it five stars but they need more room for crawling around near the sides of the cinema! Got caught in the side and had to watch that terrible move about cars and family.
Other than that it was maarvilous
We came to watch a movie and was helped by an amazing employee named Ethan. Love getting some cardio in before my films

Well.enjoy for Day Off relax in Movie.
Ticket prices are decent. Has a good choice of movies and there is a parking lot next to the theatre.
2019 Cloth couches
Have yet to try 4Dx
2021 The only one around to have 4DX experience but can't currently book it on website, could probably grey it out/unclickable, or a pop up notification.
Tried to check the time that a movie ended - you cannot speak to a real person and the voice recognition system simply doesn't work. How hard is to have someone to answer the phone? Also, website won't show the finish time of current sessions because it's focussed purely on bookings.
The cinema does not allow food from out side and one of the worker ate my KFC that I left out side of the cinema. The workers there have poor Upbringing. And the cinema smells bad too
Well I can only say i didn't expect 4D to be what it was, decided to watch Mortal combat with my son and we didn't expect what we got when we walked in, all I can say is enjoy 4D as it takes watching a movie too the next level, at first I wasn't sure but after 15 minutes into the movie I loved it whole new different experience a must try 4D at least once.
Don't want to spoil it expect to be moved
This is our go to home theater, although its starting to look tired and really needs a revamp and a good clean.
A stalwart cinema. Staff were prompt and efficient. $12 Telstra tickets are a bonus.
Seats are in good condition and the arms move. Good for cosying up to your partner.
I only went once and for some reason, you have to take 3d glasses from ticket counter instead of where they check your tickets. We prepurchased the ticket and went upstairs, our tickets were checked and on asking, we were told to go downstairs to get it. We saw other people experience the same thing. Weird. They could have put a board or anything. Nevertheless, 4dx was quite the experience. Enjoyed Kong v/s Godzilla there. Would not go regularly though, it shakes you up way too much, haha.
No one at the stand to scan our tickets or tell us where to go, had large foreign subtitles that ruined the vibe of the movie
Got kicked out of the cinema for writing a review during a movie. The fact they kicked me out shows they inforce policy well.
I would like to provide some feedback of a recent experience at Gold Class Cinema Glen Waverley. The term "Gold Class" is definitely a stretch of the term to use.
Firstly the cinema has a musty smell, definite OHS issue with the cloth seats having stains and they also feel grubby, the venue was not cleaned properly after the last session. Secondly basics such as milk options such as almond or oat are not available among other items being not available.
The staff lacked the basic principles on how to greet customers and make customers have that "Gold Class" experience. Perhaps they do not have the skills as yet to provide a goldclass experience, I would suggest additional training.
Additionally to the above, the coffee was not made correctly, Coke was flat, stale popcorn and the portion of hot chips was tiny.
We have had a better experience at Hoytes Gold Class, they also have free drink refills and popcorn. I can confirm we wont be coming back to any Village complexes moving forward.
