Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake reviews
55 2023: The Crepe Brulee's back, but it's now $15.50.2022: The Crepe Brulee's m.i. A.till March 2023, but the new Onigiri Crepe's a good substitute.
There's another Japanese cheesecake shop that's just opened, up the road, but they have no chance against Uncle Tetsu's 20+ year streak.
2021: Uncle Tetsu's have really out done themselves with their take on the French pancake, with the "Crepe Brulee".
Loaded with strawberries, whipped cream and pieces of their original cheesecake.
It's so light and fluffy, you'd literally inhale it!
2016: Uncle Tetsu's really knows how to put the "moist" in cheesecake, these literally are the epitome of "moist".
The famous fluffy and delicate texture is what earn Uncle Tetsu's universal acclaim.
It's very different to the cheesecakes of the old world, with only a slight after taste of cheese, lack of biscuit base and overall loss of that, dense stomach real estate feeling.
Just like eating a cloud.
A "moist" cloud.
One of the best Japanese desert place in Melbourne! Highly recommended!
Friendly staff.
De-Li-Cious!
Had the Creme Brulee crepe, got there just before a line was forming.
Fast service.
My cousin was not interested, got him 1 anyway and he savoured it.
So fresh, not overly sweet. Just right for an afternoon pick me up.
The crepe brûlée is to die for! Made fresh in front of you while queuing up in front of the shop.
Delicious cheese tarts. Limited edition taro cheese tarts are also certainly worth trying.
Also classic Japanese cheese cakes, done really well. What’s not to love?
The crepe brûlée was so delicious! Service was quick and staff were lovely.
We were walking around killing time until 2: 30 (when it said they start selling the crepe brûlées) and they had already started serving them earlier. Could’ve enjoyed it even sooner. Maybe just a little bit more clearer communication on that.
The 6 inch Japanese Cheese Cake costing around 26.5 dollars in Australia is much sought after desert world over. Soft and fluffy with great taste, customers patiently waiting in long Qs for their turn to pick the cheese cake. Other popular items being Cheese Tart, Angel Hat, Honey Madeline and Rusk. Store open 7 days a week. Timings 12 noon to 8 pm. Must Try for the great taste and experience.
We had the Original Cheesecake & the Original Tart. Both are perfect. Cheesecake is very light and fluffy. The tart had a crunchy base and a 'not too sweet' filling.
MUST DO
Buy double. You won't regret it.
Although their cheese cake are the most popular one, but they don’t sell slice, so I Order mango and chocolate mixed berry instead, Feels like Mango taste better than chocolate’s one.
Can you please change the closing time and stay till late? Since it’s located in the city its so heartbreaking to close at 8pm… staying open till 11-12 pm getting extra $$ i guess wont bother besides, both side are winning!
I never really like cheesecakes except for this one, I always buy few of their cheesecakes as a gift for family or for my self to take home. The cheesecakes are soft as cotton and very yummy. The tarts as well are one of my favourites, especially the assorted ones. A must try indeed.
Creme Brulee crepe is really good with the layers of cheesecake, cream, strawberries. It is quite rich though so eat the whole thing at your discretion. Strawberries are currently a little sour. Crepe layer is very soft.
Delicious! Not overly sweet plus friendly staff. Should have bought more treats. Highly recommend
Staff are always nice and friendly. Original cheesecake is real nice. Original cheese tarts and taro tarts are yummy as well
I went to pick up some desserts today and I can’t believe how RUDE the customer service is! I needed a box for my desserts but they refused to give it to me, forcing me to go to another store to get their boxes instead. Next time don’t advertise delivery on your website if you don’t give delivery boxes. The lady behind the counter should be ashamed of how she treats customers! I will not be coming back again, absolutely disgraceful.
Yumm yumm yumm,
Visited for first time in this cake shop,
So many delicious cheese cakes and tarts,
Omg, they r awesome
This is not a review of its delicious cakes. Rather it is about its staff who attempted to slip in a cake left in the fridge, who knows for how many days, when fresh ones are out on the bench next to the oven. When asked, she says let me give you a fresh one. Sneaking and dodgy.
Keep an eye out to avoid the trap.
Excellent cheesecake for those who want to taste the actual taste of the dessert and not just sacharine sweetness predominant in most cheesecakes. Sugar content is quite low here, so it's delicious, refined and not treacly at all.
I travel all the way to the CBD for their crepe brûlée. It’s absolutely divine and never disappoints.
Their staff are also so sweet, lovely to speak to and watch create the amazing desserts
Please open up a store in Melbourne’s North West!
They and offer and promotion in their menu but when you want to get it. They said that I'll come back next month.
