Two Hands Rooftop Bar & Beer Garden Eatery

Arguably the most suspect operation going around in Melbourne and I couldn't be more transparent that no one should ever attempt to book any function here. They do not uphold any of they're package offers, and when challenged on they call the police. After attending I've discussed with multiple people about what goes on here and anyone who has attended here for a function has said the same thing; they are nothing more than common theives that will take your money, rip you off and then stop serving when the slightest bit of kick back comes up. Honestly shocked they are still running and can only imagine its a matter of time until the bark up the wrong tree and they're either shut down

Had a very unwelcoming and disheartening experience after being a frequent guest (considering I’m a Abbotsford/Richmond local). My partner & I, her sister and her partner arrived at Two Hands and were hoping to get food and a few drinks. I park directly in front of the bar and the three of them head in to find us a table while I finish putting our shopping items in the trunk. As I go to walk in I get stopped by the security guard whom was standing outside and saw very clearly that I came with the three of them. I’m asked for my I. D, to fill a secure check-in, and then the guard starts to take a picture of me on his mobile phone, this would’ve been fine if the three who I had came with (whom are white Australians) had been required to do the same. Absolutely embarrassing experience for me and as an African-American I absolutely would have NEVER expected to get that sort of treatment here in Australia let alone from a place me and my partner have consistently been to and enjoyed. The security’s behavior was an incredibly poor reflection of the great vibes and atmosphere Two Hands typically has.

Organised my mates bucks party in the rooftop area. The events manager Jin was very accommodating and let us bring in our own tables for games etc. Loved the venue layout and great vibe, we had our own bartender who did an amazing job serving us the whole night. The manager on the night was super friendly and so were all his staff. Thanks two hands for an awesome night!

Similar experiences to the other one star reviews, very unprofessional responses has made me not want to leave a review. However I think people should know that the “free rooftop function booking that is always available” is false advertising. We had to pay a 1000$ deposit and reach a minimum spend. We reached the minimum spend and the owner originally withheld the money as a member of our party left an honest review of her experience. Once we took that down we got the money back, however you do not get the whole deposit back as the booking agency takes a percentage. It is not a ‘free rooftop booking’ please make sure you get all the details, read the endless fine print before you book. It is not as simple as they make it out to be.

I can’t stress enough how bad this bar is $12.50 for a house spirit which was ethanol not even proper vodka. Food was average. Don’t give these crooks any of your money when they can’t even serve normal drinks. Burn the joint down

After initially leaving a joking review playing a pun on the name of the bar and the lack of bar hands at the time ("Not enough hands") I feel it best to leave a serious review for my reasoning for 1 star, considering the bar contacted me via email and phone threatening legal action and I can see from other 1 star reviews here the manager appreciates serious feedback, though at times (literally always) seems to get offended and a tad personal (borderline abusive) in response.

I came here with a friend for a quiet night however left empty-handed due to a few reasons:

Firstly, on entry you'll find yourself needing to provide more info to the doorman than you would for entering another country. No doubt so they can chase you down and contact you when you're displeased with their service - Don't bother checking the CCTV mate.

Secondly, the entire venues vibe is best described as odd and uncomfortable, the rooftop area was depressing to say the least.

Thirdly, the pricing is incredibly steep $12.50 for a scooner? Only needed to walk 5 minutes down the road to solve that problem.

Finally, the menu was also overpriced with a rather limited selection and had a minimum transaction fee that happened to conveniently be 10 cents less than the main items on the menu?

Feel free to attack my income like you have to the other people complaining about your pricing while ignoring the fact pubs around the corner from you are much more affordable, but why prevent people spending money on you?

First red flag: a venue that makes you give over your name, mobile number and email in order to enter. And then receiving a lot of spam a couple of days later. Coincidental? I guess we’ll never know.

Second red flag: expensive alcoholic drinks that taste watered down and not very alcoholic. A few doors down you can get a good tasting beer or spirit for a few dollars less.

Third red flag: offering free drinks for positive reviews and if you leave a bad one, the manager/owner will reply with an angry tone arguing with your points. Or obsessively watching footage of you from the many CCTV cameras inside. You’ll no doubt be reading this, so maybe take the hint and start listening to your customers!

This place is not where you want to host an event. Treated a group of 20 calm and well mannered guys as criminals before we’d walked in the door. They’re clearly on edge from some sort of history with bad behaviour because the staff and security are very rude. They also have the most egregious sign in process I’ve ever seen. If you value your privacy (and don’t like your ID, photo, email address and phone number taken for an undisclosed reason) don’t bother. Food is pathetic too.

Unecessary and concerning amount of private info collected to go in venue. Wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't a friend's birthday party. Staff were nice enough but given all the data breaches happeningI I think it's risky.

One of the best happening to our neighbourhood was when we found out an old and ugly place that used to be a $2 shop with 4 long walls is going to change to a Mediterranean style Modern Asian Bar with Japanese fusion and Japanese Asahi beer on Tap. We never thought this venue will grow to a double stories Rooftop Bar to host beautiful night and to attract many visitors to the area. Thanks to the owners, managers and all the beautiful staff with their exceptional service and friendly positive attitude.

Time to give this place up. Friends and I came here a couple times as a bit of a tradition from years before because it was a bit unusual. Went again today and 2 of the drinks had to be taken back as 100% had been horrifically watered down. Replaced without fuss, but still something fishy going on. Schooner cost was $12 for a standard lager. The Food is a no go. Since I had to enter via a sign in which had to enter my email I’ve already had spam emails from third party websites. It’s an odd place old two hands. Probably avoid

Before entering asked for check in, take photo of licence, take photo of you, now have my email, phone no.and address.
Say they delete details the next day. How do I know my details will be deleted.

Highly recommend for your next event. Very easy to deal with. We had some misunderstanding with the booking agent but they were accomodating with the changes we needed to make on the day. Friendly Staff and service was top notch. Thanks again for having us

I had my 21st birthday party at two hands and I was amazing! The staff are lovely and the food was delicious. Best night, can’t recommend enough!

This is a Gem of a Place To Host a Party!

I Had My Birthday Party at this place 3 days ago and I have to say one of the best rooftop bars to celebrate your special occasion. Special shout-out to Fasai, David and Jin for your exceptional service throughout the event and even during the booking process. You guys are amazing, polite and lovely! Fasai you are a sweetheart!

They have one of the best sheesha’s in Melbourne. Food was also great. Onions rings were the besttt! Lit vibes, good space to party and dance and most of the staff was really nice and helpful!

Just a small advice for Jasmine (Bar staff) - May be you were having a bad day, but please try to be kind to people who are extremely kind and polite to you and are specially tipping you not because your service was good but because hoping you will feel a little better and treat our guests nicely too.

Apart from that Thank you for making my birthday party an amazing one two hands rooftop bar! I would surely recommend this place to anyone who plans to organise a small gathering for parties or catch-ups!
