I came here today for the second time, and each time has been great. A real fun experience in trying to cook different foods than you normally would, and doing it with a group of people each with their own tasks. Walter is great at being there for everyone when needed, and teaching new things/techniques and opening palates to new foods. When you're done, you sit down to eat (beware if you're short, it's really hard to get up on the super high chairs), and they do the clean up for you.
You can pick your cuisine and I've done Italian and Moroccan now and loved both. I'd definitely want to try Thai one time and even Italian again so I can learn new things to make at home. It's easy to book, as they're very friendly and helpful and I totally recommend it here.

I did the Cooking for beginners course and absolutely loved it. So much that I will do the Chef at Home course next because this is an experience I want to continue.

Walter's incredible knowledge, his amazing skills, the practical way in which he approaches cooking, the friendly team environment, the hands on approach where we created some beautiful dishes that I would never have dreamt of attempting previously, and not to mention the priviledge of having Walter show us how it's done and experiencing his world class cooking for ourselves.

These are just a few of the reasons as to why this was such an amazing experience.

A huge thank you and congratulations to Walter.

Keep up the amazing work.

Thanks to Trupp The Chef's Table, having a "cooking course" is easier, smoother, and more organized - in a manner that doesn't overwhelm anyone with the pacing. I have done the hands-on activities provided as well, and to my surprise, I was able to pull it off and transfer my learning to real life cooking - very important! It's a much needed skill upgrade for myself.

No other "online cooking classes" are as expertly and efficient as Trupp the Chef's Table. I trust them with myself - their courses are very great. Someone recommended them to me and within the amount of time I learned, I was able to cook much better!

I am writing this review some months after completing the Beginners Course. It's easy to come away fresh from a course and feel excited by the experience. However, I waited to see what effect this course would have on my personal practice and habits. The effect in one word - transforming! The quality and quantity of my home cooking has increased. As a result my enjoyment of cooking has also increased. One practical test was using the techniques learned to adapt recipes which were not part of the course. I have done this to a number of recipes and improved the result. The focus on a small number of tools has helped increase my focus on technique rather than tools. I have better confidence, competence and I am more disciplined and organised in the kitchen. The group of 12 I attended was just right. We learned from and helped each other with Walter's guidance. Sharing together what we had cooked provided proof of our efforts. Though only beginner sessions, my home efforts are often better than eating out.

Thank you to Walter who runs an incredible cooking school. I recently completed the Beginners course and have learned so much about food, nutrition and cooking. Thoroughly recommended and a wonderful way to boost your confidence and learn new cooking skills.

We did a French cooking class. Such a wonderful day. We started with a bouillabaisse, which we got to have for breakfast. Then moved on to many dishes including whole roast duck, beef bourguignon, lemon tart, chocolate souffle, and apple tarte tatin. Just to name a few. Walter explained every technique and every dish. So informative! And at the end we all sat down and ate together. We were provided all the recipes, and I feel confident in cooking these at home.

Top tip.bring food containers!

I have just done the Mexican cooking class that Walter runs and it was fabulous! Everything was hands on so you didn’t just sit and watch the chef cooking. We all made different dishes from the selection in our booklets and then enjoyed tasting them with a glass of wine or beer at the end of the class. We all came away feeling very satisfied and I’m sure ready to do it again at home. Walter gave us many tips during the class, was always on hand to help and answer questions. He was ably assisted by John who we couldn’t do without as he helped clean up after us!

We recently started a short cooking course at Trupp and it really has been so insightful.

Walter is extremely knowledgeable and even though we might ask some pretty basic questions, he never makes anyone feel silly for asking.his approach is professional and calm, teaching you the underlying principles so you can replicate the same methods to prepare more dishes.

I really value this approach over simply teaching a recipe and have found everything we've been taught so far to be useful! Only today I made the best poched eggs I've made, with massive thanks to Walter!

Highly recommend and can't wait to pick up another class soon!

My husband and I did the French cooking class in December. We had a voucher and had booked for early 2020, which had to be rescheduled due to covid, and Anna who we dealt with via email was really accommodating and responsive. On the day, we arrived to the beautiful Prahran kitchen at 9am. There were 5 other people in the class. Ability and skill level varied. Between us all, we cooked a French feast of bouillabaisse, French onion soup, potato gratin, beef bourgionon, quiche, cheese puffs, roast duck, and salad, as well as four desserts - tarte tatin, white chocolate mousse, lemon tart and creme brulee. Every single dish was delicious. Whilst we split the dishes amongst ourselves, Walter made sure to get everyone involved with each dish through demonstrations, so even though I didn't directly prepare say the French onion soup, I learned enough about it that I will feel confident giving it a go at home. Walter was very supportive and did some skills sessions around things like pastry, Knife skills and selecting beef. A very knowledgeable man. We enjoyed our meal as a group with some wine, and were able to bring some leftovers home (tip- bring some Tupperware in case there are leftovers, although there are plastic bags available). Would 100% recommend.

Have attended several classes over the last few years and every single one was an eye opening experience in terms of things that you never ever get explained in recipes or tv shows. The classes are highly informative and fun and Walter is an amazing instructor.
With Covid 19 I have now also joined his all subscription chef@ home and I am learning so much and it’s great because I can watch the videos again and again plus all the recipes are also available in PDFs and for that price it’s a steal

I did the Chef @ Home course here, a couple of years ago now, I felt it was quite classy here, everyone being so well presented to attend, and only using the finest ingredients and cooking tools and techniques - it really takes your cooking skills and food awareness to another level.
We learnt how to shuck oysters here, with all the fancy equipment and gloves, and other things like different cuts of meat and what to use for different dishes, as well as how to smoke fish in a traditional way and how to section cut a whole chicken for different dishes etc - I experienced different tools and techniques here - some things I’d never even heard about before. I especially loved the sauces night, where we learnt different condiments for both sweet and savoury dishes - all was delivered with a Michelin-star chef touch for techniques and skills that will take your cooking experience and awareness to a whole new level.
Love that you got to eat what you all made at the end of every class.
It also covers a diverse range of food cultures and food trends from European to Asian to modern Australian and Molecular Gastronomy etc. Highly Recommend.

16 session chef at home- very enjoyable course, not only for what you learn but the general atmosphere. Walter is a true gentleman with limitless patience and a vast knowledge of food and where it comes from. The course would suit all levels and all interests, whether it be health and good quality produce, origin and history, fine dining or just cooking for yourself at home. Highly recommended!

Walter is a fantastic, hands-on teacher! As someone who is very much a beginner cook, I felt at ease and learnt a lot of basic skills I can reuse in my daily cooking life. I highly recommend the pies and quiche class and advise that you bring Tupperware for takeaway!

I attended the wholesome Salads and Raw foods a few weeks ago and still cant stop talking about it to family and friends. It was an amazing experience and Yes you do come away with a full belly. The best part of the whole experience was the tips and tricks that Walter shows the students as well as the wealth of knowledge he has on food and nutrition that he openly shares with you. I came away knowing so much and feeling confident of cooking up a storm as well as it being healthy and nutritious. Although it was a Salad class Walter showed us how to make a lovely breakfast and now thats what I have every morning. Thanks Walter for a truly magical experience one that I would recommend to anyone.

Currently halfway through the Chefs @ Home course and it has been absolutely amazing! To cook alongside Chef Trupp, the knowledge he has and his willingness to share that in an engaging and enjoyable class, is incredible and far exceeded my expectations of this course.

Do the Chef at Home course! For beginners all the way up to hard core foodies, this course is for everyone and taught me everything about cooking. Literally everything. From shellfish, to hot desserts to ravioli - this course teaches it all.

Walter is a wealth of knowledge and not only do you learn about cooking you learn about presentation, nutrition and even the history of ingredients. Who knew that the humble croissant was made in Austria to celebrate the defeat of the Ottomans? I didn’t, but now I do!

Not only that, Walter courses attract lovely people with a passion and curiosity for food and I’ve had many, many laughs in his classes.

So not only do I have new friends and skills, I have a wealth of recipes we learnt in class that I use every week.

Couldn’t recommend enough.
