Tokyo Maki - Melbourne

Came here by chance because it was a short walk from the hotel and it had both Korean and Japanese food.
A simple layout, but could see its popular, very busy.

We started with the Negiri platter and were impressed he used " black " rice which is healthier
The fish was fresh as in quality, very good. Then ordered the Kim Chee Soup with extra Kimchee. I love the stuff.

Full of flavour, not too spicy and had a reasonable quantity of ingredients

Ok japanese restaurant, has beer on tap and large menu. There are a lot of Korean dishes as well so if you're after some variety there are many choices. The Japanese food does have some Korean twist to it, so if you're looking for authentic Japanese cuisine then you may need to try elsewhere

This place is seriously underrated. Every time we come here the food is perfect. The udon and champong are HUGE and delicious. Honestly this place is a hidden gem

Have been here multiple times for dinner with friends and I have to say it is now one of my favourite Korean-Japanese fusion restaurants in the city. Not only are the staff extremely kind and inviting, but the food and environment are also lovely. Had the sashimi and other sushi this time and it was amazing like usual. I'm not the biggest fan of seafood but I do have to say their fish tasted super fresh and absolutely melted in my mouth. The location is also perfect for after a day at the nearby Aquarium. 10/10 I love this place

I love this place and would definitely come again. The atmosphere is perfect and the staff there are so sweet and friendly. We ordered some Sashimi which was a masterpiece presented on this cool boat and tasted fantastic. We also got some nigiri and maki pieces which were also great. In all Tokyo maki is an amazing place to taste authentic Korean and Japanese cushion flavours for an affordable price

The service was great, good atmosphere, clean tables and the food arrived quickly. I ordered the "Charshu Ramen", expecting it to be a pork flavoured ramen. The ramen arrived, piled with bean sprouts and filled with large chunks of vegetables. The egg was clearly just an over-boiled egg cut in half (disappointing). The broth looked promising but upon tasting, found it to be strangely fishy flavoured. I am not a fussy eater in any sense and will even eat food that I don't particularly like, but this meal was inedible to me. I can't speak to the rest of their menu, but this was a very disappointing ramen dish.

Food was very nice and yummy, service was also phenomenal. Had nice music playing in the background as well. Def should come if your into Korean fusion food!

Ordered Chicken Karage Ramen take away, strangely the worst karage ramen ever tried. Soup were very bland. Taste of the chicken bland like flour no flavour at all.my daugther cant even finish it at all.food wasted in the bin. I have tried most of the ramen shop in cbd this is the worst ever.

I sort of hate to give away this secret, however sushi, nigiri and sushimi that is made fresh to order, plus a menu with beautiful authentic Japanese dishes like sukiyaki and tempura. Priced fairly for an experience that is truely rare, it's easily my favourite Japanese restaurant in Melbourne. It makes me truely happy every time I eat at Tokyo Maki.

Cozy, romantic, delicious! The owner puts so much care and passion into his food and atmosphere. Went above and beyond for us. Delicious food, great value. Perfect for a date night!

Worst sushi I've ever eaten. I ordered the salmon avocado roll and tuna roll for takeaway. The sushi rice was mushy and had no sushi vinegar. The salmon still had scales on it and had a crunch to it. The fish was not fresh at all. Overpriced so called sushi

Great quality little Japanese Restaurant, with both Sushi and traditional cooked dishes. Being a huge fan of Tokyo (Japan) it was great to grab some Katsu Teriyaki Chicken Don that wasn't made "the Western way". About 3/5 on price, moderately priced, and definitely worth every cent.

Take-away only under current restrictions. Nigiri and sashimi are made to order so you'll wait a little bit. Generous serves on the bento. Really happy to have a sushi place open in lockdown, thanks!

I love their kimchi pork stew so much, the price is really good and it tastes so warm and delicious, especially during winter when it’s so cold. My coworker also loves their food a lot and eats there quite regularly
