Tokyo Maki - Melbourne

During my trip to Australia, I felt like I couldn't eat steak or fish and chips anymore, so I went to a Korean restaurant, but I regretted it and ended up eating Korean food.
I was giving up, but unexpectedly I ate some really spicy food. I ate stir-fried sundae while debating on dakgalbi. The combination of fresh vegetables and sundae was the taste of Korea.

Place served up some of the best sashimi in a boat! Food atmosphere and service were unmatched!

Imperial seafood noodle soup: - consisted of 2 prawns & one empty mussel shell. Forget the baby shrimp & small quarter of crab. Vegetables were very minimal. Couldn't even snack out on the two bits of carrot. Broth (probably water) was an overwhelming chilli flavour.
Tempura prawns: - someone needs to teach the chef how to make a Tempura batter. (It does not consist of breadcrumbs!)
Sorry to say the worst takeaway I've had in a long time. Get ready to pay your 10% Sunday surcharge. What a disappointment!

Quite spoilt for choice in this restaurant. Had a bit of everything - and some interesting Korean menu items! Plenty of vegetables in the dishes, and I liked the use of red rice. Yums!

We had a wonderful dinner tonight. The food was amazing and the waitress was attentive and friendly even they were so busy. We will definitely visit again.

Ordered the sashimi thanks to the owner’s recommendation and it truly was amazing. The Dakgalbi portions were plentiful as well and we managed to finish between two! We often eat at Tokyo Maki and they never fail to impress! Highly recommend!

Best ramen in Melbourne! Awesome place, with a Korean/Japanese menu at friendly prices. Bibimbap is also delicious. First time we went there with our three kids, we were so delighted that we had to go back next night. It's a sure bet!

The wait staff and chef were all lovely and sweet. The chef came out and thanked us for taking photos of the food, which was presented beautifully and tasted even better than it looked. We had chicken karage curry, sashimi platter, and korean bbq beef. Everything was delicious! Definitely recommending this restaurant to others who visit Melbourne!

I came here on Friday night as I was on a work trip with two other airline crew members. The owner Kevin was so friendly and helped me choose the best option for dinner. I got the salmon bento bowl delicious, generous sizes and value for money. Kevin was friendly and his food was brilliant simple and tasty. The food also came timely and all the staff were welcoming. We all enjoyed our meals and will be spreading the word to other airline crew as it was easy quick and yummy Japanese. Thanks again Kevin see you next time I’m in Melbourne!

The food was great, however, the boss was aggressive and rude. Often shorthanded which makes for very slow service at times.

Stopped in for a quick lunch before heading to the airport. The ramen was incredible - some of the best we’ve had! The staff were very friendly. Will definitely come back!

This place is such a classic Melbourne find. The food is simple and super tasty. The staff were so accommodating to sit us when we didn’t have a booking and they showed such care for the food they were creating.
Loved the Agedashi tofu. And was brilliant when we combined that with a sushi don and Korean beef don.
Would absolutely go back.
