The best sushi in town, also the cheapest.
Don’t bother with the overpriced sushi joints in Melbourne central and QV, walk a bit further and come here.

The time you spend walking will absolutely pay off, you’ll save 30%+ and have better sushi. Used to be cash only (I quite literally used to keep money in my wallet for the sole purpose of buying sushi here), but they now accept card, which is great!

I won't go anywhere else anymore. Such good sushi for so little money. Every day I get one or two snacks there:) the staff is extremely friendly!

Fresh sushi that's delicious and good friendly customer service.
Affordable sushi at $2.50 per sushi roll.
I'm a regular customer here very happy with the price of the sushi.

At $2.50 a roll, it’s reasonably priced & filling! I reckon 2-3 would be a good, cheap & quick lunch or dinner.salmon roll was nice & fresh and they have a tiny squeezy soy sauce thing that makes it super easy to eat on the go & wherever

drinks are cheap at $1.50 ea

Food is delicious, prices are unbeatable the only bad thing I would say is the young girl at the counter is rude with service.

Food is so nice and I would highly recommend to anyone.

At $2.50 the sushi rolls are still very good value when the cost of everything else has gone up exponentially. My office used to be nearby so I’d often grab a sashimi set or some sushi rolls. They even take cards nowadays but you can’t eat there anymore.

Came in mid June for a quick lunch and they all seemed to be speaking Chinese to one another. Has this place been sold? They used to be Japanese proprietors. Will the quality stay the same?

Amazing quality and they’re so fast! No better option for lunch around the State Library. They do take cards too. Highly recommend the unagi and the fresh salmon.

Hands down the most addictive sushi-roll joint in Melbourne CBD. Located on a busy Lonsdale St.just across from the Emporium mall, this small sushi shop do mostly to-go basis (they do have eat in as well). They have quite the selections and unique rolls creations to choose from, some of my favorites: spicy tuna, salmon-avocado as well as the tamago. The sushi tasted fresh and they are quite big with meaty fillings. It is also the cheapest sushi you can find in the city, with each priced at $2.20, perfect for those wanting a healthy, delicious cheap eats!

The best! And the cheapest! How do they do it? I don't know and I don't care, I'm too happy eating their rolls all day. Don't go anywhere else!

It's cheap and fast but the quality is probably just like any other sushi place around

Fantastic value sushi.

I got the salmon and the tuna sushi. Both came with avocado. Both rolls were great.

At $2.5 per roll, this is fabulous value.

A lot of the rolls were gone when I visited, so come early to get a better variety of rolls.

Omg my mouth is watering as I type this… super cheap sushi that actually tastes good. Really impressive they’ve remained cheap for so long as other sushi stores are charging $4 upwards per roll. The packs are also so incredibly cheap yet filling - $7 for an assorted sushi pack. This is my go to lunch spot and it won’t be changing anytime soon.

Tokui Sushi is always busy during the day and they sell out pretty much everyday by the end of the day.

All the sushi rolls are of a fixed price of $2.5. Some fillings I can recall are tamago (egg), salmon sashimi, smoked salmon, seaweed salad, teriyaki chicken, beef, canned tuna and mayo, avocado, etc.

I personally really love the egg one, they make it really well.

The giant sushi platter we got (see photo attached) only costed $50, super cheap as well!

Solid sushi at a fair price. Place is busy, stuff is being made fresh quickly and always reliable. A solid choice for a cheap sushi lunch or snack while taking in the sights of the city.

2022: Youcan't beat $2.50 for a Salmon Avocado Roll, givenSushi Hub is now $4.20.
Tokui for the win.

2009-2018: My favourite sushi bar in the city and soon to be yours too.
Tokui's definitely deserving of it's high rating, with swift service and $2 a roll?
Just bananas!
Generous bits of salmon, avocado and various other fillings, wins my vote.

Don't change and I'll keep coming.

UPDATE: The rolls have finally gotten a price rise after more than a decade.

They have a deal for $2 per roll, if you buy 3.

Good sushi for a good price, and the service was great and fast. A bit stingy with the wasabi and soy sauce.

Best sushi in the CBD! Each roll is only $2.50 and they are just as good (if not better) than other more expensive sushi places in the city; great bang for your buck! I highly recommend the tuna and avocado rolls!

Extremely affordable compared to other sushi places in Melbourne CBD, at only $2.50 per roll. The beef teriyaki roll was my favourite.
